St Leonards travel guide and discussion

A Delicious Chinese Restaurant Spot in Sydney, NSW 😋 @The Rice Den 📝 : The Rice Den is a fusion-style Chinese restaurant located in St Leonards, Sydney, NSW. The restaurant is beautiful with a fantastic vibe. The food is absolutely delicious! We ordered several dishes, but our top favorite was the Hong Kong-style roast duck—it was incredibly tasty. The prices are on the higher side but totally worth it for the quality of the food. Highly recommended for anyone craving Chinese cuisine! 🎯 :30-32 Chandos St, St Leonards NSW 2065, Australia

Burwood has always been a hub for noodle lovers in Sydney. From handmade Chinese noodles to Japanese ramen, you can find various styles within just a few streets. I visited three popular noodle restaurants, all within walking distance from Burwood train station, making it very convenient for tourists. 🥢 1915 Lanzhou Beef Noodles 📍 Address: 168A Burwood Road, Burwood 🚶 Directions: About a 5-minute walk from Burwood train station This place is unmistakably a crowd favorite—you can tell by the queue outside. No matter the time, there are always people ordering at the entrance, showcasing its popularity. You can watch the chefs hand-pull noodles on-site, with options for noodle thickness. The noodles are chewy and firm, paired with a light yet flavorful beef broth, making it a classic Lanzhou taste for many. Besides the must-try Lanzhou beef noodles, regulars often order lamb skewers, handmade dumplings, or cold dishes to complement their meal. A bonus here is the dessert, especially the fermented fruit soup, which is mildly sweet with a hint of fermentation aroma. It’s the perfect way to end a hot bowl of noodles. 🍜 Jinweide Lanzhou Noodles 📍 Address: 258–264 Burwood Road, Burwood Jinweide’s location is slightly more discreet, but its quality speaks for itself, attracting many loyal customers. They also specialize in authentic Lanzhou noodles, with options for noodle thickness and a light, non-greasy broth. Popular dishes include Lanzhou beef noodles, oil-splashed noodles, and lamb skewers. One time, I ordered the tomato and egg noodles, and the portion size was surprisingly large—perfect for two people to share. The broth had a comforting homemade tomato and egg flavor, with a balanced sweet and sour taste. It’s no wonder many people become regulars after just one visit. 🍥 Inoichi Ramen|Japanese Ramen in a Quiet Street 📍 Address: Shop 5, 2 Mary Street, Burwood This spot is tucked away in a quiet street in Burwood, and it’s easy to miss on your first visit. I was initially drawn in by their buy-one-get-one-free promotion, but after trying it, I quietly added it to my list of favorites. The interior features a minimalist Japanese-style decor, creating a casual and comfortable atmosphere—perfect for enjoying a bowl of ramen at leisure. Their specialty is Japanese tonkotsu ramen, with a rich yet not overly salty broth, complemented by tender chashu and soft-boiled eggs. Many also order Japanese pan-fried dumplings to go with their ramen, making for a well-rounded meal.
