I went from Aso Station to the Aso Mountain Upper Terminal! Even though there was no snow near Kumamoto Station, Aso Mountain was completely covered in white, which was quite surprising. The scenery instantly shifted to a winter wonderland, making it feel like I had been transported to another world! ❄️✨ The roads were completely white as well, and cars with regular tires had to stop midway...! I thought, "Yeah, there's no way this is going to work," 😂 The first bus of the day was canceled, but the second one was running. It seems like the cancellation rate for the first bus is pretty high. But on the flip side, I felt grateful that they managed to operate the buses at all. 🚌✨ The photos are of the scenery near the Aso Mountain Upper Terminal 📸 The snow and the mountain's grandeur were so impressive that I never got tired of looking at them. The air was piercingly cold, giving off a true sense of being in the great outdoors! The area near the crater was emitting toxic gases, so entry was prohibited. It seems like the chances of being able to visit there are quite low. Even from afar, the volcano's presence was overwhelming, and I could really feel the power of nature. 🌋 Despite the cold, I had some soft serve ice cream 🍦 Apparently, it contained volcanic ash, but it tasted kind of like sesame. The sweetness warmed my chilled body, and the generous serving left me completely satisfied. Eating ice cream in the cold—it’s such a classic travel experience, right? 😂✨
