Traces of Time: Bangkok Folk Museum and Old Town Walk

Day 1 On the morning of my arrival in Bangkok, I visited the Bangkok Folk Museum, hidden in the alleys of the old town. This museum, converted from an old house, retains the architectural style of the early 20th century, making one feel as if they have traveled through time. Inside, the museum displays furniture, daily necessities, and scenes of residents' lives from that era, with each item telling the stories of Bangkok's past. The friendly guides shared bits of history and culture about the city, giving me a deeper understanding of this land. In the afternoon, I chose to stroll around the area, discovering a few hidden cafes where I sat down to enjoy a cup of Thai milk tea and quietly observed the life in the streets and alleys. Day 2 The second day's journey began at the market in the old town. The market was filled with colorful handicrafts and fresh fruits, and I picked out some local specialties as souvenirs. Next, I visited a nearby small art exhibition, feeling the collision between contemporary art and the old-time atmosphere. In the afternoon, I returned to the vicinity of the Bangkok Folk Museum and enjoyed authentic Thai green curry at a traditional restaurant. In the evening, I walked to the riverside, feeling the gentleness and tranquility of Bangkok at dusk, marking a perfect end to the two-day trip. This trip to Bangkok, with the Bangkok Folk Museum as a window to time, allowed me to see another side of the city, warmth in the ordinary, and stories carried in history.
