The pointed roof, thick walls, small vertical windows, and wide building spacing are typical Soviet-style buildings. If you stay for a while, you will find that most of the residents here are retired from Baogang. In the warm afternoon, some sit on benches in the sun, some greet each other warmly, some gather to chat, and some are supported by their families for a walk. The former steel dormitory is the most representative ethnic building among the "Soviet buildings" in Baotou.
