Have you visited the temple that houses the city pillar of Chiang Mai?

The temple of Wat Chedi Luang (Temple of the Great Stupa), I personally think, is the most beautiful temple in the Chiang Mai city area. It attracts a lot of visitors, and rightfully so, as it was built in 1411 and features an 85.4-meter-tall Lanna-style stupa. Even by today's standards, it is an imposing and spectacular structure. It is surrounded by railings, allowing visitors to only look from a distance. If you zoom in with your phone's camera to the maximum, you can faintly see the Buddha statue sitting in the niche at the top, enduring nearly a thousand years of wind and rain, witnessing the world's vast changes. In addition to the tall stupa, there is also a mysterious temple hall with the sign at the entrance stating, 'No Women Beyond This Point.' Why is that? After reading the introduction, I learned that this is the 'city pillar' of Chiang Mai, which has traditionally forbidden women from entering, whether for visiting or praying, regardless of whether they are foreigners or locals, government officials or ordinary citizens. This is a matter concerning the city's stability and fate, so it must not be taken lightly. Respect their culture, and let's hope that beautiful Chiang Mai remains peaceful forever!
