A key town on the Silk Road, at the heart of the ancient city | Chaoyang City Shuangta District Museum

Shuangta District was the political and cultural center of ancient Chaoyang, rich in cultural relics both above and below ground, with Qin bricks, Han tiles, Tang figurines, Liao porcelain, ancient pagodas, temples, steles, and stone carvings, composing exquisite historical scrolls that narrate the vicissitudes of history along the banks of the Linghe River." — Preface to the 'Shuangta District Historical Relics Exhibition' Chaoyang City Shuangta District Museum is located at No. 79, Section 1, Xinhua Road, Shuangta District, Chaoyang City. The Chaoyang City Shuangta District Cultural Relics Archaeology Research Institute is also here, a rather uncommon district-level museum. The museum houses a total of 645 cultural relics, including 26 national second-level relics and 42 third-level relics. As the location of Yingzhou Liucheng County, a military stronghold and transportation hub during the Tang Dynasty, and one of the eight major distribution areas of Tang tombs nationwide, the Tang figurines unearthed in Chaoyang City are worth seeing, which is also the biggest highlight of the Shuangta District Museum. Currently, only the second floor of the museum is open to the public, featuring two exhibition halls: 'Shuangta District Historical Relics Exhibition' and 'Heavenly Craftsmanship—Shuangta District Stalactite Exhibition'. The 'Shuangta District Historical Relics Exhibition' consists of five parts: Warring States to Tang Dynasty pottery masterpieces, prairie civilization on the Silk Road, Liao Dynasty porcelain masterpieces, ancient Chinese coins, and bronze culture. The museum's collection mainly includes: Warring States pottery unearthed from Langshan in Erqiyinzi Village of Shuangta District, ancient coins, bronze mirrors, Northern Wei pottery, Liao Dynasty porcelain, as well as Tang Dynasty pottery figurines and porcelain. The museum also continuously plays 'Ancient Pagodas of Liaoning', a very good documentary. Shuangta District Museum is not far from the Daling River, Chaoyang North Pagoda, and Chaoyang South Pagoda. It is recommended to take a taxi or walk there, with no need for an appointment; just enter directly. To the left of the museum entrance, the service center has four stamps, including two museum stamps and stamps for Chaoyang North Pagoda and Chaoyang South Pagoda. At the entrance of the 'Shuangta District Historical Relics Exhibition' hall, there are also exquisite brochures, which can be described as 'small but complete in every detail'. Please note the museum's opening hours: 9:00-11:30 in the morning and 13:30-16:30 in the afternoon, closed for lunch break.
