Longhu Ancient Village is one of the ten most beautiful ancient villages in Guangdong, located next to the embankment road in Longhu Town, Chaoan District, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, on the bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Han River. The area is about 1.5 square kilometers, founded in the Song Dynasty, surrounded by the village in the Ming Dynasty, prosperous in the Qing Dynasty, witnessing the historical changes from the agricultural era to the commercial era in the Chaoshan area. The "Three Streets and Six Lanes" in Longhu Ancient Village are densely packed with ancient houses and ancestral halls, and the building group is distributed in a belt. There are more than 100 clan ancestral halls, famous official residences and merchant rich men's mansions in the village, among which the more famous ones are "Fang Bo's House", "Jinshi's House", "Tan Hua Mansion", "Embroidered Clothes House", "Xu Clan Ancestral Hall", "Longhu Academy", "Tianhou Palace" and so on. These ancient buildings have gathered the essence of Chaozhou folk crafts such as wood carving, stone carving, shell carving, porcelain inlay, painting, and shell ash sculpture. The facade decoration of each residence is heavy, and the door lintel, door plaque, couplet, side wall are mostly painted with folk color paintings; the door frame, column beam, column base, railing, steps, etc. are all carved with stone, and they like to use stone drums, auspicious beasts, lions, etc. It can be called a "Mansion Culture Museum", which reflects the different architectural styles of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing historical periods.
