Historical Wat Chedi Luang in Thailand

Wat Chedi Luang is epic in scale and famous for its colossal chedi, standing over 300 feet tall and can be seen from many parts of Chiang Mai's Old Town. In the Thai dialect, Luang means 'big'. Wat Chedi Luang is also one of the few temples in Chiang Mai that charges an entry fee for foreign tourists, it's a fraction of the price to pay to see such an amazing temple-entry is 50 baht per person. Wat Chedi Luang was built in the fourteenth century. It was too tall that's why it didn't survive properly, an earthquake that hit Chiang Mai. The ruins were restored by UNESCO in the 1990s and today it is open for viewing. Location: Prapokkloa rd, tambon si phum, mueang chiang mai district, chiang mai 50200, Thailand. #bangkoktrip
