Hulunbuir Grassland Self-Driving Tour

Our itinerary: Hulunbuir--Arxan--Manzhouli--Heishantou Town--Enhe Russian Ethnic Township--Shiwei, Linjiang--Moerdaoga--Erguna--Hulunbuir This is a clockwise route. The original plan was to travel from Moerdaoga to Erguna via Genhe, but we gave up after learning in Enhe that the road from Moerdaoga to Genhe was under construction and completely impassable. If you don't go to Genhe, a more suitable itinerary would be a counterclockwise one, because the most beautiful 'Ka' line scenery is on the west side of the road, and it's more appropriate to travel from north to south: Hulunbuir--Erguna--Enhe Russian Ethnic Township--Moerdaoga--Shiwei, Linjiang--'Ka' line (Nine Ka--Five Ka)--Heishantou Town--Manzhouli--Arxan--Hulunbuir Apart from Arxan, the rest of the trip usually takes 4-5 days, but it requires over 5 hours of driving each day. However, my itinerary is quite relaxed. Except for the longer distances from Hulunbuir to Arxan and from Arxan to Manzhouli, which take 5-6 hours, the driving time for other parts of the trip is 2-3 hours per day. The quality of the national and provincial highways is excellent, and there are few cars, making the drive very comfortable. The more difficult sections of the road are as follows: (1) The entire area of Arxan, including the nearly 90 kilometers from Yiershi Town to Arxan Camel Hump Ridge Tianchi, is under construction and very difficult to drive on. According to the owner of the guesthouse, it has been under construction for 3 years, and it's unknown when it will be completed. Due to the high latitude and cold weather, construction can only take place for a few months each year, so progress is slow. (2) The 50 kilometers from Qi Ka to Enhe, the first half of the road is in good condition, and the scenery along the way is very beautiful. However, the second half enters the construction area, which is all mud pits, and at the final 2-3 kilometers, the road construction team prevented us from proceeding. We had to drive back a long way, then asked the locals and detoured through another village to reach Enhe. This road is not on the map. (3) Shiwei to Linjiang, about 10 kilometers, is not under construction, but has always been a gravel road. Anyway, it's not long, so it doesn't have much impact. The moment you see the scenery, everything becomes clear.
