Real Jewel: Pinganxia hidden Forest Temple

Driving up from Xining you can reach a small mountain forest area in a rural valley. It will take you about 1.0-1.5h to get there. Especially in early spring you would run into other tourists and can enjoy the awakening forest in absolute peace. After passing the gate stop your car at some of the wooden trails and take some walks. In summer the forest will be at blossom but more crowded while in early spring you can still find residual snow. There are lodges and small hotels nearby which can be booked during summer all together with restaurants. When you come before the season you need to organize yourself and driving from Xining (and back) might be the best choice. At the top of the forest you will find a beautiful temple and after registration you can walk up to the top of the temple to enjoy the stunning view over the valley and up to the white mountains.
