I found a great niche ancient town in Kaili.

Xiashi Ancient Town is only a dozen kilometers from Kaili South Railway Station. The town is home to ethnic minorities such as the Miao and Mulam people. The architecture is unique, combining elements of Jiangnan courtyards, Hui-style architecture, Minnan architecture, and Western architecture. The town is relatively niche, so it is not crowded during the National Day holiday. The scenic area is free to enter and is quite large. The town is full of history, and the commercial atmosphere is just right, making it very comfortable. Here, you can taste local snacks, buy souvenirs, dress in ethnic costumes, and experience the local lifestyle. I bought some beautiful postcards and fridge magnets at the Wangwang Theme Post Office! The prices here are much lower than in Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. The same fridge magnet is CNY 30 cheaper!
