Here are some pitfalls I've encountered on Mount Laojun that you must absolutely avoid The 17 most regrettable pitfalls 1⃣️Definitely join a tour group, definitely!! It's the most cost-effective, 130 will take you directly to the cable car station. Taking a taxi can only get you to the main gate, and you still have to take the park shuttle, which is 40 for a round trip. 2⃣️Don't bring your own instant noodles, there's no hot water on the mountain, hot water costs 5, instant noodles on the mountain are 12 including hot water. 3⃣️Don't eat the corn on the mountain, it's really bad. 4⃣️Don't buy a wishing plaque at the beginning, it's more expensive at the foot of the mountain, and really cheap at the summit. 5⃣️I advise you to definitely take the first level cable car, because it's too far. Avoid using the toilets in the scenic area if not necessary, they are really too dirty. 8⃣️Don't stay at the summit, the accommodations are all dormitory-style, no private rooms, and expensive. 9⃣️The golden summit lights up every day at 18:40 for 40 minutes, the time may adjust if there are many people. 🔟Sunrise is around 6:30, sunset around 18:50. 1⃣1⃣There are two paths from Zhongtian Gate to the golden summit, the stone stairs directly opposite Zhongtian Gate are steep, it's recommended to take the wooden stairs next to it. 1⃣2⃣From Zhongtian Gate to the golden summit, going straight is the Ten-Mile Gallery, the scenery is beautiful, but it requires 3 hours of climbing. Taking the tunnel on the right can save half an hour. Without visiting the Ten-Mile Gallery, it only takes half an hour to reach. 1⃣3⃣Scenic spots like the golden summit, Ten-Mile Gallery, and the glass viewing platform are great for taking pictures of the snow scenery, which looks very bright. 1⃣4⃣For sunrise viewing~Locations: Mazing Ridge, Liangbaotai, Xiyi Corridor, and the viewing platform of Dao De Fu. 1⃣5⃣Rooms at the summit are expensive and need to be booked in advance 1⃣6⃣Mount Laojun ticket is 100, round-trip for the first level cable car is 130, plus round-trip from Luoyang city center is 120, plus scenic sightseeing car is about 40, if you go by yourself it's around 390. Joining a tour includes all these for 260, isn't it nice to save the remaining 135 for a hotpot dinner at night 1⃣7⃣The highlight of Mount Laojun is the Ten-Mile Gallery (it takes about 2.5h to stroll through), all the popular photo spots are located in the Ten-Mile Gallery. 1⃣8⃣Cable car ascending closing time: 15:30 (don't leave for Mount Laojun from the city after 1 pm)
