Keukenhof Tulip fields

Just outside the lively streets of Amsterdam lies a botanical oasis waiting to be explored. We started out on a Saturday morning in Amsterdam Centraal, where we secured our ‘Tours & Tickets’ package, which offered transportation to and from Keukenhof with an entry ticket to its gardens. We embarked on a 40 minute journey through the Dutch countryside which unfolded like a tapestry of green, offering a glimpse of vibrant fields and quaint villages. Arriving at Keukenhof was like stepping foot into a living canvas where symphony of colours and fragrances enveloped us into nature’s embrace. Towering tulips of every hue, alongside a diverse mix of blooms, felt like a testament to the craftsmanship of Mother Nature. But Keukenhof offered more than a visual splendour, it was a journey through time and tradition. Immersed in the park’s rich history, we unravelled the stories behind the naming of each tulip variant and we marvelled at the park’s evolution over time. April with its tulips in full bloom, proved to be an optimal time to visit. While we went on a Saturday morning, it still showed how busy the tulip gardens can get; weekdays promised a better ambience. With lots to do, Keukenhof provides many facilities for visitors of all ages. From wanting to eat an ice cream on a hot afternoon to delving into the intricate world of floral lore in the local museum, there was never a dull moment. So whether indulging in a leisurely picnic amidst the blooms or simply wandering along the labyrinthine paths of flowers, Keukenhof offers an unforgettable sight of botanical splendour.
