New Twists in an Old Factory

Mangshi's new Play Factory is transformed from the original Dehong State Machinery Factory. In 1956, this machinery factory was born as the first machinery repair factory in Dehong State. Initially, it mainly produced mountain plows and spare parts, making a significant contribution to the local agricultural development. As time went by, the machinery factory gradually expanded and was renamed 'Mangshi General Machinery Factory'. In the 1960s, the factory also replicated the motorized threshers produced in Qingdao, which were well received by the public and promoted throughout the state. During this period, the factory also produced generators, transformers, and other products, providing equipment for rural hydropower stations, playing an important role in promoting the agricultural development of Dehong. The transformed Play Factory now integrates fashion, dining, entertainment, sports, hotels, conferences, and wedding services, becoming a popular cultural and creative park in the Dehong area. It retains the industrial style, incorporates contemporary graffiti, and features various cafes and local delicacies. Unfortunately, with stars⭐️ in my eyes, all I saw was the delicious food, perfectly missing the iconic 'Mangshi' wall. But what does it matter? Content over form, that's what's important, haha😄
