I fell in love with this fairy tale world in Mile, just 0.5 hours from Kunming.

Compared to Dali and Lijiang, I prefer the hidden gem of Mile. 🌲 I took my son to the world of Hayao Miyazaki to enjoy some family time. ☀️ Clear lake water, 💦 blue skies and white clouds, ☁️ animals, and a little train. 🚂 Running on the lawn, I felt carefree and at ease in nature. 📍 Mile Taiping Lake Forest Park 🚄 1 hour from Kunming, then a 30-minute taxi ride to the scenic area 🚗 My two-day itinerary: visit in order ✅ 🌸 Sea of flowers: At this time of year, the purple sage is stunning! Take the little train through the sea of flowers and feel like you're in a fairy tale! 🚂 🌳 Flowers and lawns: Great for photos! Very healing! It feels like a scene from a Hayao Miyazaki movie. Photos under the trees on the lawn are also beautiful. Princess Taiping Viewing Platform: The view is wide and you can overlook the beauty of Taiping Lake! 👑 🏖️ Free Beach: There are various water activities, free beach go-karts, 🛥️ water bikes, and kayaks. 🚣 Playing in the sand with your baby on the shore is a happy feeling. Stone Desert Park 🌵: Cacti and agave grow tenaciously in the crevices. The desert landscape is unique and great for photos! 🎡 Activities: Various water activities, double-track slides, all-terrain off-road vehicles, rainbow slides, thrilling go-karts, 🚜 feeding pigeons 🕊️ and peacocks 🦚 at the petting zoo, watching animals, speedboats, and little yellow ducks. 🐤 Take a sightseeing helicopter 🚁 to overlook the beauty of Taiping Lake from above! Accommodation 🏡: We stayed in a forest cabin in the scenic area. 🏡 The three of us booked a family room and had a cabin to ourselves. 🏡 The room was quite large, and the baby was thrilled to see his astronaut-themed room. ‼️ Ps: 1️⃣ The park is large, and there is a sightseeing train. You can also scan for a shared electric bike. Walking takes a long time. 2️⃣ The sun is strong, but it's not so hot with an umbrella. 3️⃣ The hotel restaurant serves hot pot, barbecue, and Chinese food at the lakeside restaurant. 4️⃣ I recommend two days, otherwise, time is tight.
