Wat Tham Nam Bot Khao Daeng

Tham Nam Lod Khao Daeng, also known as Tham Lod Khao Daeng, is located within Wat Khao Daeng Tai, Phaya Khan Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phatthalung Province. This is a large limestone cave that is beautifully adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. At the entrance of the cave, there is a Buddha statue in the Naga Prok posture for worship before entering the cave. Inside, the cave is divided into several smaller caves. In some parts of the cave walls, clear water seeps out, adding moisture to the cave. In the past, villagers would pass through the cave to catch fish and collect bat guano to use as fertilizer for farming. Additionally, this cave was once used for consecrating amulets and sacred objects before it was explored and developed into a tourist attraction in Phatthalung Province. From the cave entrance, as you walk in, you will find a spacious hall with a high ceiling. The path is well-lit, with good ventilation, making it cool and comfortable without any unpleasant odors, as cool breezes flow in and out of the cave constantly. Previously, tourists were allowed to drive through this area, but now the temple has closed the route to vehicles. The path inside the cave is about 400 meters long, allowing visitors to walk through the cave from Wat Khao Daeng Tai to Wat Khao Daeng Nok.
