The houses of Salem

Across Salem, Massachusetts there are several homes, some of the oldest in the United States, which are of significant historical importance. These include the wooden framed John Ward house one of the best surviving examples of 17th century life, the Joshua Ward house is one of the earliest examples of brick housing in the area and was built on the site of the house where the high sheriff who presided over the witch trails lived. Finally, there’s the house of the 7 gables made famous by the author Nathaniel Hawthorne, where you can now have guided tours of the mansion. #2024mapped #salem
