A Super Chill Hipster Teahouse in Tainan: Tea Tasting

Tainan has many hipster coffee shops, but hipster teahouses are rare. Located on Nanning Street, Tea Tasting offers a great experience. The old house has been renovated to create a spacious courtyard with a large tree. It's very pleasant to enjoy tea in the courtyard when the breeze is cool in the afternoon. The counter features a beautiful tea cabinet, with green tiles and wooden shelves that look very textured and photogenic under the light, preserving the beauty of the old house while adding a modern Japanese-style design. The owner is a tea farmer from Lishan, and all the teas are sold directly from the farm. When ordering, the staff will first present five types of tea leaves for guests to smell and choose from. Six tea products correspond to six different characters; I chose the Lishan black tea representing 'rosy clouds.' It's brewed on the spot, and the taste and aroma are excellent, with a rich fragrance. The black tea is served in a glass wine bottle, making the whole presentation look like you're drinking whiskey! The shop also offers various desserts and savory snacks, which are perfect to enjoy with high mountain tea. It's super comfortable to spend a quiet afternoon here when there are few people around!
