Even though it had been a while since we'd been to JB due to those pesky border closures, the moment we walked into the hotel, it felt like nothing had changed. First off, the place was spotlessly clean and had that classy vibe going on – really posh, you know? And of course, the welcome cookies – those things are legendary! We loved them so much that we even grabbed two tins to take back to Singapore. Now, let's talk about the room. It was super well-kept, and the best part? They had all the bath essentials – gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, and lotion – all in those handy pump bottles. Way better than those tiny, fiddly bottles. And don't get me started on the Italian restaurant – the food and the whole vibe there were just fantastic. So, yeah, the Doubletree by Hilton in JB is still as clean and posh as ever, and it's always our go-to whenever we're in town. Plus, as a Diamond member, I got bumped up to a one-bedroom suite, and it was seriously spacious and swanky. But here's the real kicker – lounge access. It was like a cherry on top. Unlimited sparkling water and snacks all day long – what's not to love? In a nutshell, this place left a real mark on us. A popular hotel to stay at for a short getaway in Johor Bahru is the Doubletree Hilton! Just a few minutes drive away from the immigration checkpoint, this hotel also has executive lounge for those looking for a more pampering experience. It comes with sessions of evening canapés and cocktails, as well as breakfast. When we were there, the staff served our canapés on a three-tiered presentation, very nice! A cheap getaway from Singapore

I decided to settle for my favourite hotel there - Doubletree by Hilton. The hotel was within 2KM from the check point, citysquare mall and factory outlet. The check in was very smooth and they also offered a free chocolate chip cookies for the guest. The room was very spacious but a little out dated as compared to Holiday Inn JB. The bed was so soft and comfortable that it'll put anyone to sleep. The toilet was well layed out and it came with a bidet, full toiletries and a rain shower! We arrived at the hotel pretty late, so we decided to grab in some lok lok. The hotel staffs delivered the food to our doorstep which made the stay even more comfortable. This was my first time trying their breakfast buffet. My date decided to pay for it while he was on his morning smoke. They had a wide selection of food categorised into cuisines. The food was nothing too outstanding but I would say my favourite part of it was the milo stand and juice bar. Other facilities included: 24:7 gym, pool, jacuzzi and suana. Overall, it was a great getawayand staying at Hilton definitely give you the luxurious experience for an affordable price.

I recently had the privilege and opportunity to cross the border into Johor Bahru for a stay at Doubletree By Hilton Johor Bahru! This stay was not too long after my graduation in Singapore! I casually mentioned it to the check in staff and they upgraded me to their one bedroom suites immediately! I was thankful. The room I got had sweeping views of the causeway, had a big comfortable bed, a really nice and clean toilet. There’s nothing much I can ask for! The living room was spacious with ample seating for a party of 5. This was a good stay and I’ll definitely come back, the decorations and treats were a bonus! #tripmoment #malaysia

Hilton hospitality in JB

I was pretty impressed by this hotel but that isn’t really a surprise as it is part of the Hilton group of hotels. What I like about it is that it is near enough to all the major shopping malls but further enough such that you don’t get the bustle or the traffic jams. They have regular rooms if you just want a place to sleep and also executive club rooms for a more lux experience. Full facilities like a gym and a pool, everything you need for a good stay can be found within the hotel!

Evening canapés served at 6pm to 8pm. Can substitute as light dinner. 2 hot dishes, 2 fried food, cakes, fruits. No soup no bread no cheese though. Alcohol is free flow during 6pm to 8pm. Didn't like both white and red. Cocktails too diluted. End up whisky on the rock is better. Rating: Enjoy popping by for coffee and juices. Checking out done at Lounge too.

We booked this because of the bathtub as executive room does not comes with one. Service is good, hotel check with us during evening canapés and refill mini bars at turndown. Swimming pool water is a bit cold. Jacuzzi and steam room is empty when I used it. Gym is small side though. Rating: Well maintained hotel, definitely the better one in Johor Bahru

Soak in a warm jacuzzi

This hotel allows all its in-house guests to access the jacuzzi and steam room that is located in the changing rooms near the swimming pool. These are separated by gender in the respective changing rooms. You can also make use of their huge shower stalls to rinse off after you’re done soaking. It was fantastic as the water was warm and the built-in water jets gave you a soothing massage. Executive room facing Singapore strait. Room is clean and spacious, with welcome fruits and complimentary minibar. The lounge offers free flow of wine, beer and cocktails. However, wine and beer used to be self service, now u have to ask them. The presentation of the tea set is still good. Breakfast is great, just that now become more and more crowded. #staycation

Room no 3021 is the corner room where one gets to enjoy the beautiful view of the whole JB area. This huge room comes with a separate living and bedroom area. The toilet has a full-length bathtub and a rainshower area. overall super nice stay :)

My beautiful Double Tree Hilton Johor Bahru and I had their executive room which came with executive lounge access. Also, breakfast was included and I can choose to have it at the executive lounge or at the main restaurant. My room was large and spacious with a standing shower. At Double Tree Hilton JB, only some of their suite has a bathtub. I stayed in this room category before the pandemic. A lovely pool with many sun chairs around the pool, submerging in the pool too. It also has a kids pool by the side. This swimming pool also has a lovely garden and a poolside restaurant. When night falls, the poolside restaurant will lit up and there will be many fairy lights surrounding the pool area. If you walk to the edge of the pool, there is a church just right besides it. Cocktail and canapé will begin at 6pm at Double Tree Hilton JB executive lounge and end at 8pm. The space is limited and it can get full house easily. So either you come a little bit earlier or come later to avoid queuing. There will be buffet for you to self service and you also can help yourself to all the drinks too. In addition, the lounge staff will serve a three tier savoury and sweet canape to your table too. The food items are not warm and I have seen so much food wastage here. For this stay the front desk manager so kindly upgraded us to the One bedroom king room suite which was on the 24th floor. It is a corner room which makes it huge in terms of size and the view was really nice too. This room comes with a separate living area with a TV. I was thinking of just having a cup of coffee and headed to the food store of double tree hilton JB. I ordered a nice cup of cappuccino and was offered their new low fat addition of having almond milk instead of the regular milk for an additional 4 RM. I tried it and to my surprise it did taste nice, it went especially well with the hot double tree cookie given to me by the kind check in agent. The food store is where you want to be for snacks and light bites, they have whole and sliced cakes available with other Danish pastries. Do check them out if you are hungry and around this area.

Price per Person - $33 sgd (ATV) Rating - 10/10 2D2N at JB with a couple friends. We stayed at the DoubleTree Hilton, slightly further from the crowd. The hotel was within 2KM from the check point, citysquare mall and factory outlet. Hotel came with bidet, 24:7 gym, pool, jacuzzi and suana. Feel very luxurious for an affordable price. We arrived on friday night (10/11pm), grab some some water and essentials at the check point before grabbing to our hotel (6RM). The highlight was definitely the ATV, we paid about (100RM/pax) for course B. It's definitely one of the best ATV route I've tried. It can be challenging for those who are scared, or have no confidence riding in this challenging terrain. For those who are not experienced they can hope behind their friend (example: in the pics) and enjoy the ride. The staff were friendly and helpful. You'll have a test ride first before they start the course. Boots and helmet are provided. Bring showercap and just wear slipper for easy post cleaning. Theres also an exotic pet store opposite the hotel which was cool to visit (free). We tried ah Sing loklok - not bad but the waiting time is very long. we took abt 3hrs to order wait and eat. We also visited Eurofun park. Rides were fun - the usual themepark vibes. Day 3 we visited the skyscape. I personally don't think its worth the visit. Maybe if you had kids, this could be fun (but its very small) considering the tickets price. Lunch at Mrs Who, staff was very nice and friendly, food was delivered quickly and it was really good! #staycation #themepark #createwithtrip

I miss their lovely cookies upon checking in. All DoubleTree properties serve their freshly baked cookies when you check in. Their cookies are definitely a pull factor for me. You can choose from their deluxe/executive/suite rooms. My one bedroom suite had a bathtub and it had a separate living room from the bedroom. It was lovely. They even had a jacuzzi tub at their pool level so you can enjoy a dip in their pool before going for a hot jacuzzi soak. There is also no need to worry about transport after you have cleared the JB customs. It is a short walk from JB City Square. However, the road leading to DoubleTree Hilton JB has an upslope and no proper pavement too. Great Staycay at Doubletree Hilton

My two nights in the hotel was one of the beat stays I have had. Not only was all the staff, and I mean ALL, friendly, polite and helpful, they went out of their way to make you feel like the only guest they had despite being quite busy. Nothing was too hard or small. Room experience excellent, spacious and well lit. Housekeeping efficient and discreet. F&B - delicious all around and even friendlier and knowledgeable staff. Ate at Tosca twice - superb and the all day dining at Makan was really good. Well done Chef Aizat, Raj and all the crew there. Daniel, as the GM, you must be very proud of your people and product!
