🌟 Attractions
1⃣Changyu Dongtian ⛰
This is a seriously underrated attraction! It has been a quarry since ancient times, and after being hollowed out, it presents a myriad of forms, truly 'man-made, yet as if created by nature'👏. There are giant grotto Buddha statues, a quarry history exhibition, cute giant pandas, and you can also go boating and play in the water, and find a cool retreat in summer, which is super awesome😜!
2⃣Colorful Xiaoruo Village 🌈
China's version of the 'Italian Cinque Terre', it was once rated as China's most beautiful fishing village🛖! Ancient colorful stone houses, rainbow stairs, harbors full of boats⛵, and from the top of Qilin Mountain opposite, you can enjoy a stunning sunset🌅!
3⃣Duijie Viewing Platform 💍
Known as the Eastern Cape of Good Hope👀, be sure to visit on a sunny day, when the azure sea is simply breathtaking! The huge pair of ring-shaped viewing platforms are named 'Duijie Viewing Platform' because they resemble a pair of rings. At sunset, the golden light sparkles✨, and at night when the lights are on, it is even more romantic and beautiful, with mountains and sea views, especially suitable for couples to take a leisurely stroll.
4⃣Sansuan Island 🏖
An isolated island paradise, with ancient stone houses, azure sky trenches, giant rocks, and black sand beaches just like those in Iceland, a super special and niche attraction, where you can experience the scenery of an Icelandic substitute island without going abroad!
5⃣Jinsha Beach/Shuitongdai Beach
Choose one of the two, I went to Jinsha Beach which was closer to my accommodation. Shuitongdai Beach is known as the 'Mount Fuji on the sea'! Go to Jinsha Beach early, otherwise, there will be no sunlight soon☀!
6⃣Ziyang Street
A characteristic old street with many ancient buildings, where you can eat and stroll around, with the Taizhou Prefecture City Wall right next door, suitable for finding a favorite small shop to eat some delicious snacks and take a good rest😃.
🍜Food
Recommendations: Qiangao (cheap and delicious outside the scenic area), Qinggao is very authentic, Shanfenyuan is like sweet dumplings, Paoxia is average, the local recommended (Zhangyuan Cooking) here has delicious eel soup, sesame mochi fried egg, and noodle knot soup are all good😋.
🏠Accommodation
Highly recommend staying in Shitang Town, where attractions are concentrated, with a wide range of accommodation options, different price points, various design styles, and mountain and water views, there is always one that suits you😎. The homestay I chose was very quiet, with a full atmosphere of the lawn, floor-to-ceiling windows that can be opened, and you can see the Duijie Viewing Platform from the room.
I originally wanted to go to Dachen Island, but unfortunately, the weather was bad when I got there and it was canceled😔. A 2 - 5 day itinerary in Taizhou is very good, day1 and day2 are must-visits, and the remaining three days can be freely chosen according to your own preferences, be sure to pay attention to sun protection, and you can rest at the homestay if it's too hot during the day!
