Toyama Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
The terrain of Toyama
Honshu in the northern part of Honshu, Japan is based on the Noto Peninsula, the Toyama, Takayama, and Nagoya areas, and the Mie Prefecture is the tail. The whole area is reminiscent of the dragon. modeling. Therefore, the tourist area here is called "Shenglong Road".
If you choose to use Nagoya as your entry point, then the itinerary is based on Nagoya-Gero-Mountain-Toyama Kanazawa-Shirakawa. My trip to the Spring Festival is also arranged for a few nights in Toyama. One hotel is cheap, and the second is convenient to the world cultural heritage Shirakawa Township or Wuyi Mountain. At the beginning of
2, there was no snow in Nagoya and Gero, and there was a thin snow in the mountains, and the more north of Toyama was still snowing everywhere. The children in the south suddenly felt the right place!
Toyama itself has almost no attractions, the only thing that can be visited is Toyama City, and there is a small park and boat nearby. All the way from the train station, the sky is drifting down the sky, the whole city is rendered white, the best place to take pictures is a bright red bridge in front of Toyama City, try to find more trees dark background, in the bridge Take a stroll and play with snow. If you are lucky, you can also play with the cute cherry sister.
Spring at Toyama Castle

Toyama Castle Park is the grounds of the former Toyama Castle initially constructed in 1543, belongs to a lord whose clan ruled over Toyama and Kaga province during the Edo Period. The Castle keep was dismantled during the Meiji period. Today, it consists of a garden and several keep housing the treasures and lacquerwares. During Spring time, there is also a Tulip festival where thousands of tulips were planted and full bloomed during mid of April. There are also a stream where you can take the boat to view the Cherry Blossoms when it is fully bloomed. A very nice place to visit indeed.
Visit Toyama Castle
Toyama Castle, a castle in a public park located in the heart of Toyama city, serves as a relaxation area for the town with its serene atmosphere and lush surroundings. The main building houses a museum displaying the history and heritage of this castle, which is over 400 years old.
During the spring season, the 'cherry blossoms' in the vicinity of Toyama Castle Park bloom splendidly. Visitors can enjoy the cherry blossoms within the park and also take the Matsukawa River Cruises to experience the scenery along the Matsukawa River that flows near the castle.
Additionally, there is the Matsukawa River Cafe' (松川茶屋) located by the river, offering a menu of food and beverages where you can sit and enjoy meals, desserts, or chill with a drink. A recommended item is the Toyama Castle Matcha Parfait (780 yen), a rich flavor that everyone should try!
Access: About a 10-minute walk from Toyama Station.
Toyama Castle
#thingstodo Historical site near Toyama City. I am lucky to witness flocks of cranes resting at the tree next to this historical architecture. Serendipity and occasionally you will also hear cranes communicating to one another. This is an unforgettable experience for me as I hardly had this rare opportunity watching these birds not one, but more than 30s, resting on the tree branches. Simply amazing and had it not due to time constraints, I would sit nearby this beautiful place watching the birds and hopefully catch the sunset here as well. I made a right decision to visit Toyama!

Kansui Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Kansui Park
#thingstodo
It’s a pretty modern sea side park near by Toyama station. It has a beautiful landscape with the big sky. The Starbucks coffee shop in this park is famous for its view. The twin towers on the both side of the bridge used to be connected with the line that allow people to talk from each tower but it’s been removed now because of the Covid. A beautiful open area park about 10 minutes walk away from Toyama Station.
Kansui Park
#thingstodo A modern and beautiful urban park near Toyama Station. You can reach it with 5 minutes walking. It’s a very urban park, no Japanese garden, but museums nearby, large area for walking and for appreciating it’s architecture.
There’s a Starbucks with a nice outside area where you can cave your coffee and relax. For bird watchers, they have a small structure for that. Lastly, they have 2 towers/building where you can see the park from above. It has elevator and it’s free (you can see the buildings from my photos).
I’m not sure, but during our walk we couldn’t find a toilet there. Possibly we didn’t look very well for it.
Romantic walk in Toyama City 🇯🇵
Toyama City is a coastal city by sea of Japan and its home to beautiful glass art, delicious seafood dishes, unique black ramen, priceless views of the Japanese alps, and *drumroll* one of the world’s most beautiful Starbucks. Kansui Park is not only a beautiful public park with a water system that’s directly connected to the sea but also the location of this Starbucks branch that once held the title for being the most beautiful in the entire world. If you find yourself in the city, you can’t miss this area.#Japan #localguides #Toyama #Hokuriku
Going here is purely to see the most beautiful Starbucks. Because the hotel is in the south exit, we are going from the outside of Toyama Station to the basement, and from the south to the north. (It looks like the ground is going to go around a big circle.) After coming from the elevator, go straight along the road for about 150. 200 meters, go to the left side of a small bridge, walk in. The park is small and has a beautiful bridge. Starbucks is located by the river, next to a row of cherry blossoms that have just opened. This is an all-glass building. The building itself looks very ordinary. It is just that the sky is clear. When there are clouds in the sky, especially during the cherry blossom season, the sky, clouds and cherry blossoms will reflect on the glass ceiling. Beautiful. If you come here, be sure to sit here and have a cup of coffee. The coffee here is almost one-third cheaper than domestic ones.

We used to go here so often, the view of the park relaxes you, and it's nice to have a walk in the evening.

In fact, it is difficult to distinguish the most beautiful of it from the appearance. In fact, the photos of the netizens selected in the past are the mountains, the cherry blossoms in front, and the photos of the canal parks and waterfalls, but we still stayed when we visited. Its dark, and theres no cherry blossoms in full bloom, so you can only use the network map to fill the most beautiful picture, or wait until the spring blooms, then verify the authenticity. Anyway, looking at the reflections on the river bank and the scenes in the store, I think it must not be a fake name.

Discover the beautiful of glass in Toyama
Toyama City in the Hokuriku region was my home for over two years. I finally had a chance to visit it again, this time with friends. I took them to one of the cities greatest attractions which is the Toyama Glass Art Museum. It is perfectly located right in front of a tram station and not too far from Toyama Castle. The museum does not only hold exhibits from famous artists all over the world, but also has an extensive collection of books in different languages and its own library. If you ever find yourself visiting the Hokuriku region, I can’t recommend this place enough.

Wandering Wonderful Science in Toyama
#2024wish
If you interested in learning about science around Toyama, it's good to go there. You can learn about nature, creatures, and the space! There are some interesting materials you can try. We enjoyed them a lot!! We strongly recommend you should go there with someone who likes to learn something new. Two things we remind you that there are few captions written in English, and some caption is hard to read. The entrance fee is ¥500 for high school students or over, and ¥200 for elementary school children and junior high school students. It's for free to enter for people who have physically or mentally challenged.
I want to go back here again in 2024.
