The staff are excellent, very friendly and ensure your stay is enjoyable. The rooms in the hotel need updating; I would not choose to stay at the hotel again due to the rooms being quite basic for a 4*, and no safe in the room either. The restaurant area is nice. The bar area could do with an open fire, which would be in keeping with the property and, due to the bar's location can be quite cool. I found the lockers difficult to use; there are no instructions when trying to use them, only in the reception area. I did ask someone to show me, but they were too busy apparently, so I asked another customer to help me. There was no concession for late checkout on New Year's Day; however, upon request, this was granted. You also have to book for breakfast; therefore, on New Year's Day, I had to get up for 9 am to go down to breakfast, which was not ideal. I had paid for the trip online when I booked; however, when I came to checkout, I was charged the full amount again and was informed that there was no log that I had already paid, but when we arrived and checked in, it was acknowledged that I had paid, it was a good job that I had the email displaying that I had paid. Upon further investigation by the hotel, it was noted that I had paid. I thought that I had read somewhere that there was an option for a set menu for NYE, but al a carte was still an option however this was not the case. The food was ok. The stay was made better due to the friendliness of the bar and restaurant staff, all credit to them.

Room was tidy and relatively clean, although skirting boards could do with some attention in the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and probably had the best nights sleep in quite a while. Breakfast was extremely good especially the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Evening meal was taken at Cooks restaurant but was a bit hit and miss to be honest, we had two evening meals and one lunchtime meal. My husband tried to watch the football in the bar back inside the hotel but the bartender didn’t seem to know how the tv worked. She said she would go and get help but nothing came and then we saw her finish her shift so ended up not watching it. This also meant that no one attending the bar. Gave up and went to bed.

Rooms were well styled and for the most part clean, only grimey area was in the bathroom around some of the seals and the shower head was filthy so i gave it a miss. Staff were friendly and helpful when found, wasn't a fan of traipsing to the bar to find someone to check in with, i feel the bar perhaps takes priority over the hotel 🤷♂️. The room was rather loud, feeling like i was sleeping inside a boiler cupboard but for the price i can't really complain too much. Overal, looks nice but has some let downs to be considered.

The hotel has a beautiful environment, clean and comfortable rooms, and friendly service staff, making people feel at home. The breakfast was rich and delicious. It was a pleasant stay experience. Highly recommended!

Really lovely hotel with great bathroom and room! Restaurant had some beautiful food and at breakfast they remembered I was vegan and told me veggie sausages were available without me even asking :) recommended

The service is OK, the breakfast service is very good, Fiona has a good attitude, very friendly, the room is clean, but the shower curtain is a bit tasteful, each hotel is different, this home is still OK overall, especially like the breakfast chef Fiona. I will book this hotel again next time.

The room was spotless, staff were brilliant, could not say a bad word about anything. Will definitely stay again.

This small apartment is clean and well maintained. Location is very near supermarket and eateries. Quiet area for short stay.

4th grade hotel,food is ok,not very far from the attractions

Passing by for one night, the service was warm, the room was clean and tidy, and the breakfast was a la carte Scotland all morning. Not far from the supermarket in the town, the environment is very quiet.
