⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Modern & Clean ”Nest,” But the Comfort is Squawky for the Price First, the positives, because they are significant. The Good: Sparkling Clean & Modern Vibes 🧼✨ Upon arrival, the first impression is excellent. The lobby is small but very chic, with a modern, minimalist design that feels fresh and clean. This theme continues into the room. I have to give them top marks for cleanliness; everything was spotless. The linens were fresh, the floor was clean, and the bathroom shone. The overall aesthetic is very stylish – lots of smart lighting, sleek surfaces, and a very efficient use of space (but more on that later). It genuinely feels like a new, well-maintained property, which is a huge plus in a city like Hong Kong where many budget options can feel tired. The staff also deserve a shout-out. When we arrived, one of the two main passenger elevators was under maintenance. 🛠️ This, as you can imagine, created a bit of a queue. However, a staff member quickly noticed the backup and proactively offered to guide us to the cargo elevator. It wasn't the most glamorous entrance, but it was a practical and helpful solution that saved us a long wait. It was a small gesture, but it showed they were on the ball and cared about guest convenience. The Not-So-Good: The Squeeze & The Sting 💸 Now, let’s talk about the core of the stay: the room and the value. We paid almost 1000 HKD for a single night. For a ”budget-conscious” hotel in Aberdeen, which isn't exactly Central, this felt quite steep. Upon opening the door to our room, the ”efficient use of space” I mentioned earlier became very apparent. To put it bluntly, the room is extremely small. We knew it would be compact, but the reality is always a bit of a shock. There was just enough space to walk around the beds and open our suitcases one at a time. Fine, it’s Hong Kong, we get it. Space is a luxury. However, the beds were the biggest disappointment. They were single beds, and I mean narrow single beds. I’m an average-sized adult, and I felt like I was sleeping on a tightrope. 🪂 Any rolling over in the night had to be a very conscious decision, or I risked a meeting with the floor. If you are a larger person or someone who likes to sprawl out, these beds would be genuinely challenging. For a hotel that seems to market itself to couples or friends traveling together, having two such cramped beds in a tiny room makes for a restless night. The amenities provided were another head-scratcher. The room came with the basics: towels, slippers, and a wall-mounted shampoo/shower gel dispenser. That’s it. No conditioner, no body lotion. But the real kicker for me was the toothbrush. A basic toothbrush and toothpaste set was not provided in the room; it was an ”extra” you had to purchase from reception for 5 HKD. 🪥 Now, 5 HKD is practically nothing, I know. But it’s the principle. At a price point of nearly 1000 HKD, providing a basic hygiene item like a toothbrush feels like a given. Making it an add-on purchase feels unnecessarily stingy and leaves a bad taste in your mouth (pun intended). It’s these small costs that add up and make you feel nickel-and-dimed. Location & Final Thoughts 🗺️ Aberdeen is a fascinating area, but it’s important to manage your expectations. It's not the most convenient base for a typical tourist wanting to explore the heart of Hong Kong. You’re looking at a 25-30 minute bus ride to get to Central, and depending on the time of day, the traffic can be a real buzzkill. 🚍 So, while you're saving a bit compared to a Central hotel, you're paying with your time. So, what’s the final verdict? The South Nest is a paradox. It’s clean, modern, and feels safe. The staff are helpful. There are certainly cheaper options in Hong Kong, but they likely won’t be as clean or stylish. However, for the price we paid, the experience was let down by the claustrophobic room size, the uncomfortably narrow beds, and the surprisingly bare-bones amenities. Would I stay a

Location was great! There’s a straight bus from Disneyland and towards airport! There are so many eateries around the hotel. You will not go hungry. It’s also a 20-min walk to the Peak as well as to Chungking mansions. The check-out time is quite strict. But I was able to check-in earlier when the room was available. The room is sooooo pretty!

The location is quite secluded, up in the mountains. Getting around means relying on the scheduled shuttle bus, which is the most convenient option. The environment itself is rather pleasant. I'd say it's more suitable for Hong Kong locals seeking a weekend staycation than for general tourists. During our stay, we experienced a Black Rainstorm Warning, which meant the shuttle service was suspended, and we had no choice but to take a taxi to get out. To add to that, my child developed a high fever. I inquired at the front desk and was told there were no private hospitals nearby where we could seek medical attention. Our only option was a public hospital, about a 10-minute taxi ride away. This experience gave me a firsthand look at the inefficiency and poor service attitude within Hong Kong's public healthcare system. The consultation fee alone was HKD 1230. Thankfully, the prescribed fever medication eventually brought my child's fever down. Honestly, after all this, I have no desire to visit Hong Kong again.

I chose the Marriott because I was going to Hong Kong Ocean Park. The advantage is that it's right next to Ocean Park, and booking a room with a bathtub at the hotel is great for relaxing after a long day. The disadvantages are that there's nothing around the hotel. The 7-Eleven convenience store sells very few items and closes early. Getting to the MTR requires navigating a very complicated route on foot, and asking for directions is almost impossible (people in Hong Kong are very busy and generally unwilling to help strangers), unless you happen to find an MTR staff member, but they are very rare! So, if you have enough money, Didi (ride-sharing) is the best solution. I won't be going to Ocean Park again; it's really only suitable for children under 5. 😓

The sea-view king room was exactly as depicted in the Ctrip photos. The room wasn't huge, but it was well-designed and laid out, making efficient use of the space. Though simple, the decor was very cozy. The distant sea view was quite beautiful. The room provided a coffee machine and tea bags, and there was a communal water dispenser in the hallway for drinking water. Breakfast was 160 per person, a pretty basic buffet. You can walk to Wong Chuk Hang MTR station. If you want to go to the beach, you'll have to take the road by the MTR station; there's no shortcut. It was too far, so I didn't go.

Although the hotel room isn't huge, both the room and the lobby are incredibly well-designed. It's very clean, and the facilities are convenient. You can store your luggage, and the staff are super friendly. There are lots of bus stops nearby, making it extremely easy to get to places like Victoria Harbour and Mong Kok. Downstairs, there are many restaurants, and the lobby overlooks a food court on the basement level, which looks like it would have some delicious options. Around meal times, when you're out on the street, you can smell amazing aromas wafting from some unknown restaurant – like roasted cheese, baked cake, or butter-fried steak... It's enough to make you feel faint from deliciousness! Hong Kong truly smells wonderful!

A boutique hotel located near Wong Chuk Hang MTR station. The music in the elevator makes people more energetic and went back to some 1980. The room is equipped with slippers, tea bags, luxury glasses, Kenwood electric kettle and two cans of mineral water. Seldom hotels can provide all of these nowadays. L's lounge is elegant and comfortable, overall a good place to stay

Consistently great, this is one of my favorite hotels. The rooms are quite spacious, clean, and hygienic. What's really important to me is that the sheets and duvet covers are spotless and odorless. For someone with germophobia like me, there's absolutely nothing to complain about. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

Take a boat from Pier 4 in Central (you can use Alipay Hong Kong public transportation card) to Yung Shue Wan, which takes about half an hour. After getting off the boat, you will see several seafood restaurants and supermarkets, convenience stores, various bars, etc. on the island, and then there are houses, which are a pristine island fishing village style. After about 20 minutes of winding walk, you will see a small bay and a small beach shop like the one in Hong Kong movies. This is the front desk of Bi Hai Xuan. Check in here and pay a deposit. It is not recommended to buy water here. You can buy it in advance at the supermarket on the way here, about 6 yuan a bottle. Bi Hai Xuan is located in Hong Shengye Bay. The room faces the beach and the sea. The sand is relatively soft. It must be a popular local beach bathing beach in summer. The room is very small and the bed is only 1.3 meters. It is really not suitable for people who are used to sleeping in a big bed, but how to say it, Hong Kong's outlying islands may only be like this. After all, you don't come here to enjoy high-end hotels. The room facilities are basically complete and the conditions are average. Fortunately, the hot water is good, which can wash away the fatigue of the journey. We lived on the first floor, with a small courtyard of a few square meters (if it can be called a courtyard), so it was called a garden view room. It is 3 kilometers from Bi Hai Xuan to Sok Kwu Wan, about 50 minutes' walk. There are many seafood restaurants in Sok Kwu Wan, you can try them. But it was already evening when we checked in. Considering the winding mountain road and the lack of street lights, we went back to Rong Shue Wan to find a restaurant to eat. In fact, there are many choices, and there are many bars that foreigners like. By the way, there are many foreigners living on the island, maybe they prefer this kind of primitive life~

The hotel's location is excellent. From West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station, head towards Elements Mall. Once inside Elements, continue following the clear signs to the hotel. The entire walk is indoors. It's also convenient if you exit at Kowloon MTR station; just walk into Elements. The hotel is clean and the service is warm and friendly. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very welcoming. There are clear signs leading to the hotel entrance. You take the elevator to the 6th-floor lobby where staff direct you to the front desk for an easy check-in process. Because of the convenience and excellent service, I extended my stay for an extra day. On the first day, I wasn't familiar with Elements Mall, but once I got my bearings, it was very easy to get around. To travel from Hong Kong to Macau or Zhuhai, you can simply take the cross-border bus from within Elements Mall, which is incredibly convenient!

MM492872****Finding a room with such great value for money in Hong Kong is truly a good find! The room isn't too small either, and it's close to all the places I wanted to visit. The MTR station is right downstairs, which is super convenient. The staff are very welcoming, and the owner is especially nice. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hong Kong.

MMinZzzVery clean and cosy room and toilet! Not a noisy environment as we slept like babies. Aircon airflow is strong, hot water shower, the window can be opened if you prefer. Towels and toothbrushes provided. Luggages can put under the bed which is a plus point. Common freezer/fridge, microwave, hot/cold water dispenser for guests to use. From HK airport to Ocean Inn, we took airport bus A22 stops at Chi Wo Street, Jordan Road. HKD40.80/pax bus fare about 1hr bus journey. Less than 50m walk to Ocean Inn. Downstairs got porridge, Cha Chang Teng eateries, 7-11 etc. Right outside the building is Jordan MTR Exit B1 with MTR Lift. We took airport express mtr back to airport HKD65/pax about 1hr15mins journey. Friendly owners! Will definitely stay here again. __M1382444****I found everything to be excellent. The doorman was friendly and polite, providing clear directions and even warning us to be careful of oncoming traffic, and he also told the taxi driver where we wanted to go. A big thank you to Audrey at the front desk for upgrading us to a room with a central sea view and for thoroughly explaining the hotel facilities, answering all our questions patiently. Another pleasant surprise was when I called housekeeping to ask for a lint roller. The employee said they would look for one, and I honestly thought they might forget, but they didn't! When I returned to my room in the evening, I found the lint roller placed on the table. I was so impressed that the staff remembered my request. The only minor drawback is that the toilet flush is a bit loud, which woke my child up at night. Other than that, everything else was perfect!

GGuest UserI was so happy to find an individual room with bathroom and double bed for such a price in the very center. Extremely cosy with a nice view on a small park. Metro station is just downstairs, as well as the direct bus A21 towards the airport. I think night bus from Central also arrives close but I did not use it personally. 100% recommended!

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very good location, close to Exit E of Mong Kok MTR Station. The hot water supply in the bathroom needs to be improved, which is very inconvenient in winter. The upside is that the room rental is relatively affordable. Transportation from Mong Kok to many attractions in Hong Kong is also very convenient.
