⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Modern & Clean ”Nest,” But the Comfort is Squawky for the Price First, the positives, because they are significant. The Good: Sparkling Clean & Modern Vibes 🧼✨ Upon arrival, the first impression is excellent. The lobby is small but very chic, with a modern, minimalist design that feels fresh and clean. This theme continues into the room. I have to give them top marks for cleanliness; everything was spotless. The linens were fresh, the floor was clean, and the bathroom shone. The overall aesthetic is very stylish – lots of smart lighting, sleek surfaces, and a very efficient use of space (but more on that later). It genuinely feels like a new, well-maintained property, which is a huge plus in a city like Hong Kong where many budget options can feel tired. The staff also deserve a shout-out. When we arrived, one of the two main passenger elevators was under maintenance. 🛠️ This, as you can imagine, created a bit of a queue. However, a staff member quickly noticed the backup and proactively offered to guide us to the cargo elevator. It wasn't the most glamorous entrance, but it was a practical and helpful solution that saved us a long wait. It was a small gesture, but it showed they were on the ball and cared about guest convenience. The Not-So-Good: The Squeeze & The Sting 💸 Now, let’s talk about the core of the stay: the room and the value. We paid almost 1000 HKD for a single night. For a ”budget-conscious” hotel in Aberdeen, which isn't exactly Central, this felt quite steep. Upon opening the door to our room, the ”efficient use of space” I mentioned earlier became very apparent. To put it bluntly, the room is extremely small. We knew it would be compact, but the reality is always a bit of a shock. There was just enough space to walk around the beds and open our suitcases one at a time. Fine, it’s Hong Kong, we get it. Space is a luxury. However, the beds were the biggest disappointment. They were single beds, and I mean narrow single beds. I’m an average-sized adult, and I felt like I was sleeping on a tightrope. 🪂 Any rolling over in the night had to be a very conscious decision, or I risked a meeting with the floor. If you are a larger person or someone who likes to sprawl out, these beds would be genuinely challenging. For a hotel that seems to market itself to couples or friends traveling together, having two such cramped beds in a tiny room makes for a restless night. The amenities provided were another head-scratcher. The room came with the basics: towels, slippers, and a wall-mounted shampoo/shower gel dispenser. That’s it. No conditioner, no body lotion. But the real kicker for me was the toothbrush. A basic toothbrush and toothpaste set was not provided in the room; it was an ”extra” you had to purchase from reception for 5 HKD. 🪥 Now, 5 HKD is practically nothing, I know. But it’s the principle. At a price point of nearly 1000 HKD, providing a basic hygiene item like a toothbrush feels like a given. Making it an add-on purchase feels unnecessarily stingy and leaves a bad taste in your mouth (pun intended). It’s these small costs that add up and make you feel nickel-and-dimed. Location & Final Thoughts 🗺️ Aberdeen is a fascinating area, but it’s important to manage your expectations. It's not the most convenient base for a typical tourist wanting to explore the heart of Hong Kong. You’re looking at a 25-30 minute bus ride to get to Central, and depending on the time of day, the traffic can be a real buzzkill. 🚍 So, while you're saving a bit compared to a Central hotel, you're paying with your time. So, what’s the final verdict? The South Nest is a paradox. It’s clean, modern, and feels safe. The staff are helpful. There are certainly cheaper options in Hong Kong, but they likely won’t be as clean or stylish. However, for the price we paid, the experience was let down by the claustrophobic room size, the uncomfortably narrow beds, and the surprisingly bare-bones amenities. Would I stay a

I was in Hong Kong to see a friend and only stayed for one night, so I chose this hotel which looked nice and offered good value for money. The location is excellent, just a five-minute walk from Admiralty MTR station and very close to Pacific Place. Dining and transportation options nearby are very convenient. The hotel is relatively new and has a modern, youthful vibe. For Hong Kong, the room size is decent, the facilities are quite new, and the service attitude is gentle. Overall, it's a great choice.

The location is quite secluded, up in the mountains. Getting around means relying on the scheduled shuttle bus, which is the most convenient option. The environment itself is rather pleasant. I'd say it's more suitable for Hong Kong locals seeking a weekend staycation than for general tourists. During our stay, we experienced a Black Rainstorm Warning, which meant the shuttle service was suspended, and we had no choice but to take a taxi to get out. To add to that, my child developed a high fever. I inquired at the front desk and was told there were no private hospitals nearby where we could seek medical attention. Our only option was a public hospital, about a 10-minute taxi ride away. This experience gave me a firsthand look at the inefficiency and poor service attitude within Hong Kong's public healthcare system. The consultation fee alone was HKD 1230. Thankfully, the prescribed fever medication eventually brought my child's fever down. Honestly, after all this, I have no desire to visit Hong Kong again.

The hotel is conveniently nestled at the center of the Ocean Park resort as the footbridge directly connects the hotel to the MTR train station, providing guests a pathway to easily get onto the public transit. Though it might be challenging to find any shops or restaurants within walking distance at evening as the closest shopping mall in Wong Chuk Hang is one station away. There is no water provided in the room so you have to go to the vending machine on the ground floor. The hotel’s facilities have aged a little bit as it was opened 7 years ago but the maintenance and the upkeep of the public premise were meeting the standard. The fitness room and lobby is very clean. Public area of this hotel is clean and refreshing. You can also find a wide range of amenities on site. Two major downsides: 1) cleaning lapses in the guest room: on one of our beds in the room, we discovered dark stains on the linens and sheets. The overall presentation of the beddings appeared to be outdated and perhaps a bit messy. 2) some amenities in the room had quality issues which affected their performance such as the hair dryer. The hair dryer in our room was not working properly as it cannot sustain the air blowing out. Service delivery and speed is overall satisfying though it somehow is difficult to communicate with the housekeeping team

The sea-view king room was exactly as depicted in the Ctrip photos. The room wasn't huge, but it was well-designed and laid out, making efficient use of the space. Though simple, the decor was very cozy. The distant sea view was quite beautiful. The room provided a coffee machine and tea bags, and there was a communal water dispenser in the hallway for drinking water. Breakfast was 160 per person, a pretty basic buffet. You can walk to Wong Chuk Hang MTR station. If you want to go to the beach, you'll have to take the road by the MTR station; there's no shortcut. It was too far, so I didn't go.

Check-in was easy, and the front desk service was decent. For Hong Kong, where space is at a premium, having a family room with a partition was good. After checking in, I noticed the bunk bed frame wasn't level, but a quick call had someone come fix it promptly. The room provides hotel-supplied water (not bottled). The toilet and shower areas are a bit small. The hotel is about a 7-10 minute walk from the MTR station exit. Overall, I was satisfied.

A boutique hotel located near Wong Chuk Hang MTR station. The music in the elevator makes people more energetic and went back to some 1980. The room is equipped with slippers, tea bags, luxury glasses, Kenwood electric kettle and two cans of mineral water. Seldom hotels can provide all of these nowadays. L's lounge is elegant and comfortable, overall a good place to stay

Don't compare this to The Langham Shanghai. The lobby isn't even half the size of Shanghai's, and don't even get me started on the rooms. My city view room faced an exhaust vent that started buzzing loudly early in the morning. The showerhead had poor water pressure, and the whole decor felt like it was from the 80s. For a 2500 price tag, could you at least renovate? The only reliable aspect was the service, which I'd rate as merely adequate for a typical four or five-star hotel. Hong Kong's overall service is professional, but compared to the enthusiastic service at Haidilao in mainland China, it feels less heartfelt. Many five-star hotels in China offer personalized WeChat butler service, with staff greeting you all the way from the hotel entrance to your room with ”Hello, good morning.” They genuinely seem to care. Housekeeping even arranges children's toys and folds pajamas on the bed, making you feel like they're looking after their own family and friends. Back to this hotel, the location is excellent, but it gets incredibly crowded. If you can bear the crowds for about five minutes, there's also a decent-sized park nearby to explore.

Take a boat from Pier 4 in Central (you can use Alipay Hong Kong public transportation card) to Yung Shue Wan, which takes about half an hour. After getting off the boat, you will see several seafood restaurants and supermarkets, convenience stores, various bars, etc. on the island, and then there are houses, which are a pristine island fishing village style. After about 20 minutes of winding walk, you will see a small bay and a small beach shop like the one in Hong Kong movies. This is the front desk of Bi Hai Xuan. Check in here and pay a deposit. It is not recommended to buy water here. You can buy it in advance at the supermarket on the way here, about 6 yuan a bottle. Bi Hai Xuan is located in Hong Shengye Bay. The room faces the beach and the sea. The sand is relatively soft. It must be a popular local beach bathing beach in summer. The room is very small and the bed is only 1.3 meters. It is really not suitable for people who are used to sleeping in a big bed, but how to say it, Hong Kong's outlying islands may only be like this. After all, you don't come here to enjoy high-end hotels. The room facilities are basically complete and the conditions are average. Fortunately, the hot water is good, which can wash away the fatigue of the journey. We lived on the first floor, with a small courtyard of a few square meters (if it can be called a courtyard), so it was called a garden view room. It is 3 kilometers from Bi Hai Xuan to Sok Kwu Wan, about 50 minutes' walk. There are many seafood restaurants in Sok Kwu Wan, you can try them. But it was already evening when we checked in. Considering the winding mountain road and the lack of street lights, we went back to Rong Shue Wan to find a restaurant to eat. In fact, there are many choices, and there are many bars that foreigners like. By the way, there are many foreigners living on the island, maybe they prefer this kind of primitive life~

The hotel's location is excellent. From West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station, head towards Elements Mall. Once inside Elements, continue following the clear signs to the hotel. The entire walk is indoors. It's also convenient if you exit at Kowloon MTR station; just walk into Elements. The hotel is clean and the service is warm and friendly. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very welcoming. There are clear signs leading to the hotel entrance. You take the elevator to the 6th-floor lobby where staff direct you to the front desk for an easy check-in process. Because of the convenience and excellent service, I extended my stay for an extra day. On the first day, I wasn't familiar with Elements Mall, but once I got my bearings, it was very easy to get around. To travel from Hong Kong to Macau or Zhuhai, you can simply take the cross-border bus from within Elements Mall, which is incredibly convenient!

MM492872****Finding a room with such great value for money in Hong Kong is truly a good find! The room isn't too small either, and it's close to all the places I wanted to visit. The MTR station is right downstairs, which is super convenient. The staff are very welcoming, and the owner is especially nice. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hong Kong.

MMY travelsLocation is excellent. Just next to the Jordan MTR B1 lift exit. So if you have heavy luggage you don't need to use the MTR stairs. Jordan station is on the Tsuen Wan red line and is closed to the city Central tourist precint. This is not a normal hotel but a converted 11th floor flat with very basic accommodation and toilet/shower facilities. Entrance is through the New Lucky House building. Hot and cold water dispenser is available at the reception. There is even a shared fridge and microwave available for guests to use. Staff are friendly and helpful.

BBaoxinyiThe location is fantastic! Right outside the hotel entrance is a subway station 🚇, and K11 is directly across the street. I originally booked a room facing east, but I just casually mentioned that I'd love to see the Victoria Harbour night view on my next visit. To my surprise, the front desk staff, a really lovely lady, said, ”I'll upgrade your room for you so you can see it this time, no need to wait for your next stay!” I absolutely loved that! Haha! I'll definitely be staying here again next time! It's so convenient! It's also super close to Wah Sao Bing Sutt (restaurant), just a short walk away!!

GGuest UserI was so happy to find an individual room with bathroom and double bed for such a price in the very center. Extremely cosy with a nice view on a small park. Metro station is just downstairs, as well as the direct bus A21 towards the airport. I think night bus from Central also arrives close but I did not use it personally. 100% recommended!

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very good location, close to Exit E of Mong Kok MTR Station. The hot water supply in the bathroom needs to be improved, which is very inconvenient in winter. The upside is that the room rental is relatively affordable. Transportation from Mong Kok to many attractions in Hong Kong is also very convenient.
