The Ennerdale Country House Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’
3.7/575 Reviews
My Dad and I had a great couple of nights here whilst visiting the Egremont Crab Fair. It’s a fascinating old building and grounds with lots of quirks. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the night porter who served us some drinks and told us a little about the history of the building and local area. Nothing seemed too much for him. Obviously the building is a little tired and need of a bit of TLC, but this didn’t detract from our experience; perhaps even added to it.
Lake View Country House

The Lake View Country House is located in a quiet corner with private access, but it is just a few minutes walking distance from the property to the shops nearby. I had to say thank you to Richard, the proprietor of this place, he was so nice and friendly. To save money, he reminded me to make reservation on the official site and accepted our stay with 3 cats. 😊 I and my family members stayed here for 4 nights and wanted to fully explore the Lake District. We found this hotel was the ideal base to start from in every morning. I and my family members stayed in Fellside Suite and Lake Room, both rooms were clean, tidy, with great facilities, good bath/shower with a great view from the rooms. We all enjoyed our stay immensely and we will definitely come back here for our next visit to the Lake District. Well done, Richard.
Windermere Manor Hotel
3.9/561 Reviews
Some mixed reviews on here but we had room 10 and it was lovely with a view of Lake Windermere in the distance. It was clean with everything we needed. All the staff we came across were friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced, food was nice. Breakfast in the morning was all we needed. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
The Globe Inn

The staff were absolutely amazing and accommodated my ever changing work schedule without fuss( deep thank you for that too) The premises was flawlessly clean, bedrooms too. Bed was the comfiest I’ve slept in. During this past 5 wks I’ve worked from London to Leicester in numerous travel lodges. And let me tell you the service I received from Ruth and her staff at the Globe Inn Hotel put them all to shame hands down. Would highly recommend this place if you’re travelling throughout the lakes even if it’s just a one night stay. Can’t thank you enough.
The Bridge Inn
4.2/542 Reviews
We decided to go out for a belated Mothering Sunday dinner to The Bridge. The specials board had some interesting items and 2 out of the 4 of us ordered from that. My wife is essentially vegan so there was limited choice, but at least there was a choice ! Variety of meals including the clack & blue salad which I thoroughly enjoyed. Staff as always were friendly and there was nice atmosphere with locals & walkers in the bar. Prices are on par with other bars / restaurants in the area. Would we go back - yes. Would we recommend - yes

The mountain road to the hotel is very beautiful, and both dinner and breakfast are good. The room is slightly smaller.

Puddle Duck Lodge – Adults Only
4.8/530 Reviews
A lovely stay from start to finish. I only stayed one night but wish I could have stayed longer. I was amazed at the attention to detail in every aspect throughout the lodge. I noticed a lot of the complimentary products were locally sourced, which is a nice touch. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for a short walk into Bowness, with plenty of amenities nearby. I liked the idea of the breakfast hamper, but the menu seemed unnecessarily complicated. 4 pages of options and combinations was a bit much for me after a long day travelling. Although I must say it was very well presented and I enjoyed it. I would highly recommend the Puddle Duck Lodge to anyone visiting this part of the world.
