Location was great. Do note that this is near Midvalley and hotel shares parking with the building, thus needing additional payment for parking. RM5 standard rate per enrty.
Room and bed was nice. Cleaned good and kept nice. Service are decent, can be better and more efficient with the amount of people during peak hours.
Facilities are decent too. Will still consider to be back again. Was a nice hotel in general.
The room was very clean and spacious, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the beds were very comfortable. Toiletries were provided, so you wouldn't need to bring your own unless you have very specific requirements.
One highlight was the excellent view from the sea-view room. You could see the customs checkpoint where cars lined up in long queues at night, resembling a winding, fiery dragon.
The apartment has a kitchen with basic cooking utensils. If you're staying for a while and want to cook, you can just buy some seasonings and start right away.
The kitchen's balcony has a washing machine with a drying function, and there's an iron in the room. The large balcony also features a retractable clothes rack, which is very convenient. A TV is also provided in the room.
Another thing worth mentioning is the beautiful complex itself, which has a rubber track. Taking a stroll in the evening with the sea breeze was very pleasant. There's a skybridge connecting the complex to a shopping mall, so dining isn't an issue. The mall also has a supermarket, making it convenient for groceries.
If you plan to go to Singapore, you can simply follow the signs through the skybridge to the mall and then directly to JB Central. From there, it's a 5-minute train ride straight to Singapore.
This place is suitable for young travelers, family vacations, or even seniors looking for a long-term stay.

Drove to JB during CNY and stayed for 2 nights, initially room assigned at lower floor and my wife had some depression issue, with the help of Aulia , we managed to be relocated to higher floor.
KSL got the best location and surrounded by lots of cafe, eateries and foot spas , we also managed to play fireworks and firecrackers since our last play 40 years ago. It’s a memorable and wonderful trip.

Check-in process is fast and seamless. The receptionist was courteous and accommodating of request when I asked for 1 more card key. The room is of good size and generally clean. However, the shower area is mouldy and needs quite abit of scrub down. Basic amenities are available, including room slippers (important as the carpet is abit damp). Mattress is off good support although the pillows smells used (not smells from fresh laundry). Overcome it by laying face towel over the pillow. We had a good night rest. Aircon setting is responsive to adjustments which is a plus point. Breakfast is included and a decent spread and quality.
I chose Opero Hotel Southkey for my recent trip to Johor Bahru, and I was very satisfied with the overall experience. It's a hotel with excellent value for money.
📍 The location is incredibly convenient:
The hotel is right next to Mid Valley Southkey Mall, just a few minutes' walk downstairs. Eating, shopping, and buying things are completely hassle-free, making it perfect for short trips or weekend getaways.
🛏️ Room Experience:
The room was clean, with a simple and modern design. The bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, so it was quiet at night.
The bathroom had stable water pressure and plenty of hot water. The overall maintenance was excellent; it didn't feel like an old hotel at all.
🍽️ Full Marks for Lifestyle Convenience:
* The mall offers a huge variety (restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, massage, beauty products – you name it).
* It's super convenient for late-night snacks, coffee, or buying daily necessities.
* No need to take a special taxi to the city center; you can still have a great time.
🚗 Transportation & Getting Around:
* From Singapore, you can take a Grab directly after clearing CIQ.
* The hotel has parking spaces, so it's convenient if you're driving.
* Taking a taxi to the city center, KSL, or City Square is also a short ride.
💬 Service Experience:
The front desk staff were friendly, and both check-in and check-out were smooth.
Responses to questions were quick, which was reassuring.
✨ In summary:
If you're looking for a clean, quiet, super convenient hotel near a mall in Johor Bahru, you really can't go wrong with Opero Hotel Southkey. The breakfast was delicious too.
It's suitable for couples, friends, or short weekend stays. I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit to JB 👍

Upon arrival, the hotel made a decent first impression. Parking was a bit cramped, but the front desk service was excellent and efficient, and we didn't have to wait long for the elevator.
However, the room's cleanliness was a major issue. The headboard had a lot of white dust, the pillowcase contained black hair, and the sheets had black marks and more hair. The bathtub was cracked, which scratched my toes, and definitely needs updating. The showerhead was positioned awkwardly, and the corner of the toilet door was moldy.
Breakfast offered a good variety, and the food was decent overall. A big plus was how quickly staff cleared used dishes and refilled food items.
On the downside, some hotel restaurant staff were not wearing masks or gloves. I also witnessed staff putting food that had fallen on the display table directly back onto the platter. The person refilling the fresh milk also needs to be more hygienic and professional. Furthermore, many people in the breakfast restaurant were tripping over the plastic covers for electrical wires on the floor, which is a significant safety hazard and could lead to injuries and potential liability claims for the hotel.
Overall, the hotel really needs to improve its hygiene standards.

We’ve stayed here previously but this is the worst 2-nights stay in the old wing of Grand Paragon! The housekeeping staff did not clean the dusty fabric headboard which I had to do so with it’s layers of dust. There were missing glass tumbler, slippers, tissue paper & the safe-box was locked, too. The shower curtains were too short so water tends to spill out. We were given 1 extra pillow when we requested for extra 2 pillows as it was too flat. Their excuse was that it was the hotel’s policy even though the hotel was half empty! Housekeeping did not clean our room even with the Clean-up sign on our door on the 2nd day. Reception was informed of it in the evening when we came back to our room. They had the audacity to say that we were going to check-out the next day (3rd day), anyway! We had 2 full dust-bin of rubbish, no shampoo, bath gel, bath towels, hand towels, wc paper, etc & we desperately needed to take a shower. Eventually Housekeeping brought the items & meekly apologise that he was the Evening Shift staff. We understood his situation, thank & tip him for his assistance. The next day, we tried the gym. It’s windows had dust streaks & were very dirty, too. Some of the exercising seats were cracked & uncomfortable.
Breakfast was nice at the cafe with freshly ground coffee, Nasi lemak, noodles & fresh bread. Avoid the ones in the coffee/tea pots as it’s diluted and tasted unfresh. The staff were quite friendly.
Stay here, if you can over-look this dirty environment.

This is my third time staying here, and I’m still satisfied with the service provided. The only downside this time was that the room didn’t have a safety deposit box, and it was located on the first floor in the middle section, so it was quite noisy due to traffic and people hanging out by the roadside. If you want a quieter room, request one on the 2nd–3rd floor at the end of the wing.

Had a 1 night stay. Counter staff check in and checkout was fast and polite. Location is great alot eateries just downstairs.
Free parking for hotel guest, just need to validate ur tng card before exit.
Theres a minimart within the hotel that opens till midnight.
Spacious room, with in room water dispenser (hot and normal temperature).
Toliet needs some improvement, theres some rusty and stained shelving under the basin. Shower area supposed to have a transparent glass but its now covered with white wrapping. Theres also a blind at the shower area, which i cant release up, seems like it is stucked. The blind is abit obstructive and has some mold. With this, makes the shower area dim and darker. Basin drainage seems choked the water drains very slow.
The bath foam and shampoo smells really really good. Aircon is decent as well, love the smart tv!
Overall, decent stay!

KKhairul DanishLoved our stay at Fraser Place, especially the beautiful view from the room. The breakfast was awesome — we stayed for 3 nights and the menu changed every day, so we never felt bored. My kids especially loved the bathtub, which is something many hotels don’t have nowadays. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay for our family.

GGuest Useri have nothing bad to say, this is definitely 1 of the best hotel apartment i have ever stayed. my youngest son doesn't want to leave the hotel. he cried and ran back to the lift lobby asking to go back to the hotel room when we had already checked out. great for families, breakfast was ok , quite good, the room excellent, pool was nice and cold. definitely coming back here.
NNHTDSgoeswhereWe had a total of 9 pax (4 adults, 5kids) and we took the 4 bedroom apartment. 4 rooms, 3 bathrooms. We got the one on 45th floor. If ur afraid of heights like i am, the room we got is facing the causeway. So it wasnt that bad. The apartment is clean and feels very homey. The only downside as usual is the internet connection bcos its very near sg so ur internet will be back and forth with sg connection. TV has youtube and netflix. But no local channels. Below has mamak shop, minimart and laundry. We had a wonderful stay the kids didnt want to go home.
CCHONG SIAU HWAFour Points by Sheraton Desaru offers a comfortable and family-friendly stay with clean, spacious rooms and warm, helpful staff. Breakfast has good variety, and nearby shops are convenient. Not beachfront, but shuttle service makes getting around easy. Overall, great value for a relaxing Desaru trip.
JJaymie SooThe good:
comfortable bed, decent cleanliness, working aircon, game console was cool, nice view at #48.
The bad:
Host expect you to contact them on the day else no sound no pic.
Sent a series of pictures and videos, shock to see they asked for deposit and my passport photo as part of their requirements. I’m not comfortable with that.
Drivers beware: This unit located at B1-2 is damn troublesome. I had to park outside the gantry and walked all the way to the end of the building (approx 200m one way) to get the card. The guard weren’t familiar with such arrangement had to call another guard over to assist in order to let me into the mailroom to retrieve the access card.
After that had to walk all the way back again to the entrance. When I drove to the gantry, the access card didn’t work, guard had to come over again to assist. End up found out it’s because the previous user did not “tap out” so we can’t “tap in”.
The wayfinding in the carpark is worse ever. Don’t know where to go up, don’t know where to exit. Turn round and round the entire carpark to find and realised it’s in the middle of nowhere.
Now for the accommodation itself, it’s decent. Towels were provided. No toothbrush provided but 8 combs provided instead (pic). The cups were damn disgusting (pic).
Overall will not return as the carpark and checkin experience was really a huge turnoff.
AAdillawatiThis was my first stay at Sheraton Hotel Johor Bahru, and as someone who places a lot of value on customer service, the team genuinely exceeded my expectations. Across multiple departments, the staff consistently showed a positive attitude, thoughtful consideration, and a clear willingness to go the extra mile for guests.
During breakfast, staff regularly greeted us and checked in to see if we needed anything. Even during peak hours, another team member managed the lift flow smoothly so the lifts could be used more efficiently. I also appreciated how staff didn’t just point us in a direction—they guided and accompanied us to available tables, which made the whole experience feel warm and well-organised.
My family was especially tired after arriving late at night, and we were momentarily lost while trying to find the reception lobby on Level 5. The security guard responded to our questions with patience and grace, and that same welcoming energy continued during check-in. The guest relations officer answered my breakfast questions with such kindness and a big smile—even when I was experiencing serious brain fog (lol!).
It’s these small, consistent acts of care—paired with genuine positivity—that set this hotel apart.
I also completely understand how Sheraton Hotel Johor Bahru lives up to its reputation as a family-friendly hotel. We spotted the kiddie pool with water slides, and Mizan had an absolute blast splashing and playing there. The pool area itself felt thoughtfully planned—well laid out, with facilities that made it easy to enjoy the space while still feeling calm and relaxing.
The room delivered too, especially in comfort and cleanliness. The bed was incredibly inviting (the kind you immediately want to melt into), and the overall bedroom layout felt cozy and well designed—simple, comfortable, and easy to settle into after a long day.
One more thoughtful touch that really stood out: the hotel even had a balloonist on-site creating balloon designs for the children. Honestly—what family-friendly hotel goes the extra mile to do that? It was such a simple but brilliant idea, and you could see how much it delighted the kids. His balloons definitely made the young guests happy, and it added an extra layer of joy to the whole stay.
Unmatched customer service, family-friendly facilities, and cozy hotel rooms all in one place? Sheraton JB tops my list.

GGuest UserNice apartment, my kids love the place and the swimming pool. Washing machine and fridge works very well. Nice area too. Peaceful and calm place. Not overly crowded. Will come again. Would be nice if got full length mirror. Hehe. Sorry too occupied and didnt take photo of the room. But it is as seen on photos on the website.
OOlive erThe hotel is old but well taken care. The check in and check out process needs to be improved, took too long.
The breakfast charge is over priced. I paid Rm50.88 per meal for my 7 year old kid. And the breakfast varieties are very normal, very limited choices.
The environment to eat is also very messy, people queue up for 10-15mins just to get the omelettes. Probably due to long holidays, it’s hard to find a table to sit down and eat. Shortage of workers to clean the table and to clean the room too. Our room only managed to be clean at 5pm.
The room is clean, the staff are friendly to help. We enjoy the beach and the pool, the pool is very friendly for kids.
The hotel also provides many other activities.
