We had a booking at Mercure Hotel. We arrived at 3:45 PM and had to wait in a very long line for check-in because there were many guests. Unfortunately, the line we chose had the worst service. Many guests were having problems with their bookings because their reservations could not be found in the system. Some people were shouting at the attendant out of frustration because they had already waited four hours for their booking.
In our case, we were traveling with our baby. Although we arrived at 3:45 PM, we were only able to check in at 9:00 PM. We were extremely tired and very frustrated. While we were eventually given a room, some tourists were transferred to another hotel because they could no longer be accommodated.
This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
I would like to commend the hotel’s amenities, cleanliness, and food they were all good. However, the shuttle bus going to the beach runs only once every hour, and the beach is quite far from the hotel, taking about 5–10 minutes to reach.
It also seemed like there was no proper system for beach access. When we arrived at the beach, the guest attendants told us that we needed to get a bracelet coupon from the hotel first. However, this was never explained to us beforehand.
The hotel itself is good, but the service and overall system were very disappointing

Cold AC, Hot shower, nice workers, good cheap price, moved the beds together and it was dirty underneath with food crumbs but i understand. Pretty cool they have the kitchen and sink with cabinets. Someone jiggled the door handle on the next room for whatever reason why. Also had to put a 2k php deposit down as well i was shocked. Two small waters but clean sheets and towels. Good area too. Windows and doors allow street noise to come inside as well as anyone in the hallways. Nonetheless i will stay again

We enjoyed our 4 nights stay in savoy, though the rooms are not that spacious, but enough to move around with luggages, the food is also tasty, everyday they have different menus, the amenities and the view, on the 18th floor is wow...you can see the landscape of cebu by day and by night..memorable indeed..we enjoyed our pool and beach time too.. we will definitely come back again, all the staffs are so nice and polite..special thanks to the feont desk Jeremy, we enjoyed our last 2 nights stay because of him.

This is one of my favorite place to stay in Cebu whenever I want to be on staycation. The place is a walking distance to Crossroads, 88th Avenue, Cebu IT Park and even Waterfront Cebu. I spent New Year’s Eve there.
This is a budget friendly hotel. Will definitely be back again soon

Greenfields Tourist Inn offers the basics at a budget price. The room is simple—you get what you pay for. It comes with its own CR, is reasonably clean, and hygiene is maintained. The property also has a pool, which is a plus if you want to relax on-site.
However, there are several drawbacks that need attention. The walk to Alona Beach takes about 10–15 minutes, which is farther compared to other hotels in the area. Inside the room, mosquitoes were a problem, and the air conditioning left the floor damp and uncomfortable. The linen and blanket provided were very thin, making sleep less cozy and not ideal for longer stays.
Overall, Greenfields Tourist Inn is fine if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option with basic amenities, but expect compromises in comfort and convenience.
The restaurant supervisor and crew greeted my mom with a birthday song and a cake during our stay. It was nice for them to do that. The photographers also made a way for the complimentary photoshoot to push through despite the inclement weather; my mom liked the photos very much. You wouldn’t need to go far to eat or to buy daily needs or for pasalubong since there’s a mall with 7-11, pasalubong shops, and restaurants like Buzz by Bohol Fee Farm. For me, the best part of the resort is the beach itself, because the northwest corner of Panglao is less frequented by tourists, hence marine life thrives better here and it’s much more serene. I would like to come back here again. Thank you, Modala! 🫰
Staying at Oceanica was a great experience who wants to escape the bustle city life.... the views of the beach, garden and mini forests were quite calm and relaxing. If you want to get moving just head to the recreation and fitness facility... If you re hungry just head to the restaurants and bars, and enjoy the delicious foods and refreshing drinks. Room is clean and spacious.. staffs are courteous and nice. Will come back again, next time will tag along our kids.

I enjoyed my stay in Crimson Resort, the room is big and spacious for families, the staff are friendly and well trained, the four pools are huge and fun and the daily breakfast is delicious. We especially enjoyed the foam party at adult pool and Crimzone pool, the playground in Crimsone, the seaweed collection activity, snorkeling and the complete amenities of the room. Cebu beach is so pretty. Big shout-out to Clint in breakfast for his very warm service to me and my daughter.
Cons:
- There was no housekeeping done on 2nd day of my stay which was not informed to me in advance, I think that was not professional.
- They don’t allow food delivery in but the food in the resort is not that delicious to be had everyday (I tried sisig, inasal and pizza).
- You need grab or taxi to go out to Cebu city (and face the jam) as the shuttle only runs 3x a day, so it’s not convenient if you want to explore Cebu.
Excellent hotel with great facilities. In house dinning, poolside bar and rooftop bar are great for unwinding. Front desk, housekeeping staffs show excellent professionalism. Nearby malls for other dinning options are within walking distance. Excellent stay at the hotel.

I have been using Costabella for nearly 20 years and have always considered it a pleasant, well maintained hotel. In fact I even got married here! However, during my most recent stay, the experience fell noticeably short of expectations.
We booked a poolside room and, after check in, I was genuinely surprised to find that the room was on the third floor. Based on my many previous stays, I had always understood poolside rooms to be those adjacent to the pool at ground level. If you are booking a poolside room, be aware that this may not be the case and expectations should be managed accordingly.
The room itself was a little dated in style, but it was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. Housekeeping was consistent throughout the stay, which helped offset the older décor.
The pool area is relatively small but generally well maintained. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded throughout the day due to the large number of day pass visitors. As a result, there were no chairs or loungers available for hotel guests for most of the day, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the beach area was clean and pleasant.
The food was the main let down. The buffet breakfast would rate no more than 4 out of 10. Much of the food had not been replenished, including empty juice and coffee stations, and what remained was cold and unappetising. However, it was better on the second day.
Dinner was equally disappointing. Several main courses were served cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen twice. In the end, we cancelled two seafood dishes altogether, as reheating raised concerns about food quality and safety. The steak, which was once a highlight of Costabella for me, was extremely tough and far below the standard I have previously enjoyed.
Overall, Costabella still has many positive qualities, but this stay did not reflect the standards I have previously associated with the resort and this will be my last visit. Unless the quality of the food and the management of guest capacity improve, I would find it difficult to recommend Costabella based on this recent experience.

LLileth AbeHospitality at its finest. Very accommodating staffs, always smiling and ready to help and serve you. The place was so relaxing. Will definitely come back.
JJinshu524Overall, it was a pretty good stay. The breakfast was nice with a good variety of options, and I highly recommend the Filipino egg rolls. The pool isn't huge, but it's adequate, though I'd suggest getting there early to snag a spot when it's busy. The beach is quite rocky, so beach shoes are a must. There are plenty of fish in the ocean, so remember to bring your own snorkeling gear. It's best to drive here if possible, as having a car makes things much more convenient. Grab is an option too, but I found that the Didi app was generally cheaper than Grab at the moment.
GGuest UserI'm leaving this review in the hopes that it will be helpful to those traveling to Bohol.
1. Location: Since it's far from Alona Beach, I had to pay an additional 300 pesos one way for the free massage pickup and drop-off.
2. Facilities: The room was very comfortable and bright, perfect for putting on makeup. The mattress and bedding were nice, and the single beds came with two pillows, which was very comfortable.
3. Pool: The water was clean and regularly maintained, so it was great for swimming. At other resorts, I've never been in the water.
4. Meals: Breakfast was included, which was simple but filling and delicious. It was also nice to be able to order other meals whenever I wanted, which was also delicious.
5. Service: The staff were all friendly, and since it's not a busy area, they provided hotel pickup and drop-off for nearby areas and called tuk-tuks for further places. Grab wasn't available.
6. Overall: This is a resort I'd stay at again when I want a quiet and relaxing stay, but the distance from the city center was a bit inconvenient. This resort is great for water activities. I went shopping at ICM for 400 pesos one way, but I like to wander around nearby, so I moved to Alona Beach and had some fun.
Because it's surrounded by mountains, there were so many mosquitoes that I think I killed about 10 a day. Ask for an electric mosquito coil to minimize the damage.
This is a resort I highly recommend, but the biggest drawback is the mosquitoes.
GGuest UserMandarin Plaza Hotel is widely seen as a very good mid-range hotel in a great location, especially if you enjoy being near shopping, food, and central Cebu attractions. Many guests (including verified travelers) praise it for comfort, convenience, and value — so you’re in good company.

BBeverly J. BeverleyWe love Nustar so much! This is probably our 5th time here! Stayed here from Nov 5 to 7 as it’s Mine and my bros bday and it was after Typhoon Tino. As always they are very accomodating, friendly and helpful and gave me a piece of cake and fruit bowl but this time I ask for a happy birthday note on the monitor for background pic for me & entire family as celebration but they keep telling me they will send someone up but no one really came from the IT department . I did expect a happy birthday greeting on the monitor it would have been very special, but I understand as maybe they are so busy and under staff because of the typhoon and instead of 2 pm check and we were able to check in very late like 5:30 pm because they’re probably under staffs but all of these did not ruin our overall stay as new star staffs are all very welcoming. We had birthday dinner in the good luck hotpot which is just inside Nustar as well. Thank you Nustar for being very welcoming , friendly and hand on chest when Greeting guest is such a Nustar trademark please trade me a guest feel welcome and at home
BBubbleChimpGood for experienced divers but not for new divers, solo travellers, relaxing beach time or a deluxe experience even though it was £200+ a night so I did not think it was good value.
For me it was just the wrong choice and I didn't do enough research. The main disappointment comes down to me basing my expectations on the price instead of the 3 star rating. I haven't paid that much for a hotel before and usually go for 4 or 5 star places so I just don't understand the pricing, maybe that's just how it is in the Philippines. The staff and service are good, breakfast and the room are ok, spa and diving are the good amenities so it might be the diving location which warrants the price.
Lunch and dinner are good. I recommend the honey yoghurt muesli with mango and the chicken salad (with a dressing) for breakfast. Everything I had on the lunch/dinner menu was great - the tom kha gai soup, Dorado, burger, curry etc all good. Small range of beers and cocktails available but cocktails were good too.
The room and bathroom are fine for 3 star standards. There is termite stuff falling from the wood beams and dead moths or similar insects on shelves which did not get cleaned away.
The Swedish massage was good, I recommend Gail. The shiatsu was painful and pinched my skin so she switched to Swedish. The pool is murky and not enticing to swim in, lots of mozzies around it too.
I much preferred the beach and water conditions further down at Dauin. I like to relax on a nice beach and swim etc. that's where the great snorkeling is too. But the water at Atlantis is too rough and windy and the beach too narrow.
Although the dive masters are great for leading dives and probably for the other diving skills, I wouldn't recommend getting your open water certificate here especially if you're at all nervous about it. There were some differences with the SSI videos like being able to practise boat entry in the pool first and using a snorkel that I would have preferred what with the condition of the water there. The beach, water and entry conditions are so much better 20-30min down the beach at Dauin, Bongo Bongo beach. I managed to earn my open water and it was the reason for this trip but it wasn't a pleasant experience and I watched the divers enter at Dauin quite jealously.
Considering you can do 4-5 dives a day here plus a day for Apo island, I think 3-4 days here would be perfect.
The hotel tour prices were a bit more expensive than others I found and they do not arrange joiner tours so as a solo traveller, their tours were prohibitively expensive. For some reason there were no joiner tours available outside the hotel either, I don't know if that's because of the season (jan-feb) or that's usual for the Philippines but it's the first time I've experienced that in my travels.
The tour to Apo Island is good and well arranged. The only thing is as a snorkeler you have to wait until after lunch to get to the shallow turtle area but it was great and a benefit of going with the hotel is you leave on their boat right from the hotel, no need to drive to the ferry.
PPinkRangerThe room is good for couple or friends, the bed is comfortable and clean. The hotel is near the beach and restaurants which is a plus. The price for 1 night is not bad. Will recommend staying at hennan to everyone planning a trip to Panglao Bohol.
GGuest UserThe place is nice and luxurious. A lot of amenities and a butler too. They gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates and cookies everyday. The buffet, afternoon tea and cocktail hour was so good too.
