Romantic Hotels in Fujian, China

The environment here is absolutely fantastic! Coming to Fuzhou with so many Ming and Qing dynasty buildings, I initially chose a guesthouse converted from an ancient building, and I wasn't disappointed at all. The hygiene is excellent, with no unpleasant odors whatsoever. It's worth mentioning how lovely the shampoo is; at previous hotels, my hair would always feel dry after washing, but here it feels great. The activities in the courtyard are perfect for kids, like calligraphy tools and the old-fashioned well for drawing water. While playing, a faint scent of osmanthus would occasionally drift by. You can truly relax and unwind without even needing to leave the property. Opening the door in the morning, you're greeted by the vibrant atmosphere of an old residential neighborhood – the smell of residents cooking dinner, the scent of wood emanating from the old houses, and the sound of footsteps on the wooden廊 (corridor). It was enough to calm even the most mischievous child.

## Review **Ambiance:** I'd say it was just okay, a traditional five-star hotel setup, pretty standard. But I'm not sure if it's because of the humidity in the south, but there was an indescribable smell when I entered the room. **Cleanliness:** The room itself was decent. However, some of the cutlery in the restaurant was a bit dirty. You can see it in the picture if you zoom in – there were hard white spots on the knife. **Service:** The cleaning staff in the guest rooms were very friendly and responsive to requests. However, the front desk service on the 40th floor was just mediocre. I've stayed in many five-diamond hotels of major brands in various cities, and in other cities, the staff always made me feel right at home. But in Fuzhou, they were quite indifferent. The only contact was a perfunctory follow-up call after checking out. I think you could learn from practices in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions, as well as Guangdong. They often have dedicated butlers, and both the front desk and butlers actively contact guests, checking in and showing genuine care. Especially in Guangzhou, the service is so good it almost makes you feel embarrassed! **Food:** The breakfast offered mostly local specialties. I'm someone who isn't usually picky, but I found many dishes unappetizing, and the variety wasn't great. I suppose it's understandable if they're trying to cut costs. **Overall, I didn't have a good experience!**

This hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to the cruise terminal and directly opposite Gulangyu Island. It's also conveniently close to other attractions, making getting around a breeze. The hotel itself is quite nice, with good facilities and spacious rooms, and the service is top-notch. The breakfast spread is extensive, though the only minor drawback is that they're a bit slow to replenish items. This would be my first choice for hotels in Xiamen.

The room wasn't huge, but it was clean and tidy. The service was good, and we appreciated being able to cook – especially since we had elderly family members who prefer home-cooked meals. It was a nice touch. The location is very convenient for transportation; it's close to the seafood market, Zhongshan Road, and a supermarket. I'd recommend getting your fruit from the supermarket, it's less than 50 meters away. Getting a ride-sharing car was easy and affordable, and there were shared bikes available too. Even though it's in an old neighborhood, it has its own charm, allowing us to experience the daily life of people in Xiamen's old quarter. The streets and alleys are well-connected and lead everywhere. We also tried Drunken One Seafood Restaurant, and even at 11 PM, it was packed! The grilled eel and steamed grouper were absolutely delicious. Overall, this guesthouse has a great location and was easy to find.

This Chinese New Year, we decided to visit Fuzhou. After booking our flights, I started looking for hotels. After comparing many options, I finally settled on Mindu ME Hotel. Initially, I chose it because it was a new hotel, but once I arrived, I realized I made the perfect choice. 1) As soon as our ride-sharing car pulled up to the hotel entrance, a friendly staff member immediately opened the car door to greet us, while another helped us with our luggage inside. 2) We arrived quite early, so after check-in, our room wasn't ready yet. The staff member at the front desk warmly suggested we go explore the sights first and helped us store our luggage. 3) The hotel lobby is very grand and impressive, and since it was Chinese New Year, it was decorated quite festively. 4) As a newly opened hotel, all the facilities in the room were brand new, which was a very pleasant feeling. The TV allowed for screen mirroring from our phones, the bathroom had no strange odors, and our room even had two sinks. The shower had excellent water pressure and hot water, and the toilet was a heated, electric model. After a tiring day of sightseeing, we could even relax in the bathtub (a friendly reminder: if seniors or children are using the tub, it's best to have someone supervising). 5) Getting to the hotel is super convenient: take Metro Line 2 to Shuibu Station, use the D Southeast exit escalator (not the accessible elevator) to reach street level, turn left, make a U-turn, walk straight through two automatic sliding doors, and you're directly in the hotel lobby. It's all internal access, so even if it rains, you won't get wet. The bus stop is also very close. The hotel isn't far from popular attractions like Sanfang Qixiang, Shangxia Hang, and the Provincial Museum, all easily accessible by bus, subway, or shared bikes. 6) I didn't make it to breakfast because I slept in, but I'm sure it would have been excellent. If you order takeout, a lovely staff member delivers it to your room, so you don't have to go down to pick it up yourself (the round table in the room is very sturdy, and I brought my own tablecloth to keep it clean). 7) After checking out, a wonderful staff member, Miss Qiu, chatted with us warmly and invited us to stay again. With such a great hotel and amazing staff, I will definitely stay here again whenever I come to Fuzhou. Wishing all the staff at Mindu ME Hotel a happy New Year and good health! The environment is quite enchanting. Our room was on the outer perimeter, but unfortunately, there's a villa being built next door. It didn't affect us since we were out most of the day, but if you plan on relaxing in the room, it can get a bit noisy (though earplugs are provided in the room). This hotel is great for those who enjoy morning runs or walks. You can use your room key to access the Chongyang Stream scenic trail by the river, offering beautiful mountain views. The hotel's breakfast buffet is really good, with a decent variety. You absolutely *must* try the lard noodles and Zixi noodles, loaded with toppings – they're super delicious! In the room, having two sinks is very convenient for two people, but a small detail to note: the inner rim of the washbasin area should be cleaned regularly to prevent mold. There's also a good selection of pillows to choose from, so you can find one that suits you. The hotel also offers some nice free experiences, like various handicraft workshops. We didn't try the travel photography though.

An extremely satisfying stay. The B&B is located right inside Sanfang Qixiang (Three Lanes and Seven Alleys), giving it an excellent location. One turn takes you to the main street of Sanfang Qixiang, and in the other direction are Dongbai Center and the subway station. You can order takeout from virtually all the trendy Fuzhou restaurants you can think of. The B&B's decor is very antique and charming, yet it doesn't lack essential modern and stylish facilities. What truly stands out is the service. From picking us up at the subway station upon arrival, to helping us wash and dry our clothes, to the daily breakfast featuring a changing variety of local Fuzhou snacks, and finally to helping us load our luggage into the car and even sending us off with some fruit when we checked out – we truly felt at home. Although one night we didn't sleep well due to noisy neighbors, we informed the manager the next day, and he promptly helped us by moving our room to a quieter area. Ban She is highly recommended to all tourists who wish to stay in Sanfang Qixiang.

Excellent transit stay near Fuzhou Changle Airport! The apartment is spacious, clean, and offers a lovely sea view. The owner provides free airport pickup/drop-off and was very friendly – he even dropped us at Wanshou subway when available (ask in advance). Located just a 5-minute walk from a beach, with a few small restaurants and a mini-mart nearby, perfect for breakfast. Highly convenient for an overnight airport stop.”

Overall, I'd reluctantly give it a 5 out of 10. The room size was decent for our family, with enough space to move around. However, the floor felt a bit dirty, which might have been due to the carpet affecting the visual perception. But in areas without carpet, there was noticeable dust, especially on the tables and nightstands. I had to wipe them down myself with wet wipes, and you could clearly see the dust marks on the tissues. Breakfast was even worse – very limited variety. There was practically nothing suitable for young children. Perhaps it's just that we Cantonese aren't used to those flavors, but I feel like for two days, my family and I basically subsisted on plain congee and boiled eggs.

Traveling with my kids and had a layover in Fuzhou, this hotel was absolutely perfect and even exceeded my expectations. It's clearly geared towards leisure and relaxation, making it ideal for family trips. Upon check-in, the front desk attendant, CC, upgraded us to a sea-view room in building #2. Stepping onto the balcony, the view was incredibly open, directly overlooking the hotel gardens and the beach, an unobstructed panorama. The room itself was spacious, decorated in a cozy, holiday style, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The beach activities were a major highlight. We received a complimentary choice of one activity from three options and picked the beach horseback riding + 20 minutes of ATV. The horseback ride around the beach was very pleasant, strolling with the sea breeze. My child, however, preferred the beach ATV, which was incredibly thrilling and fun. The recreation center also offers free activities like archery and dry-land curling, ensuring both adults and kids can find something enjoyable to do. Breakfast featured a wonderful selection of Fujian local specialties, including piping hot 'Guobian' (a local snack) and delicious 'Rouyan' (swallow dumplings). You could also make your own sandwiches, with a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options. After a hearty meal, we enjoyed a stroll through the tropical gardens, filled with palm trees, and took a ride on the park's mini-train. It truly felt like a vacation, making it the top hotel choice for a trip to Changle.
