Romantic Hotels in Shandong, China

First of all, I’d like to thank the incredibly friendly staff who managed to arrange an apartment room for us on the 34th floor with a breathtaking view of the East China Sea, even though we checked in at 1 am. There was also a fruit basket in our room upon arrival, which I’d like to highlight as a very positive touch, as it makes you feel valued as a guest. Overall, our stay at the Haiyi International was wonderful; the apartment was spotlessly clean, and the facilities were exactly as described. What’s more, the location is very central on the beach promenade, so we were able to enjoy the light show from our apartment every evening or take a mere 10-minute walk to the beach. For a family of three adults, this apartment is absolutely lovely, especially as it had two bathrooms as well as a fully equipped kitchen. The only thing I would suggest improving is that the bedroom number two are separated from the living room by glass walls, and as these aren’t fully soundproof, you can hear people in the living room from the second bedroom. Another area for improvement is that, although there are curtains for the glass wall between the living room and bedroom number 2, there is a glass section next to the door to the room that cannot be covered by the curtain, which means the room is flooded with light coming through from the living room. We also noticed during our stay that the hot water runs very slowly, unfortunately – though this is more down to the building itself. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Haiyi International and would book this hotel again for our next visit to Qingdao, thanks to the friendly staff, the excellent location and the facilities.

I stayed for two nights in a sea-view room and the view was absolutely stunning. It offered great value for money. You could open the window and see the blue sea and sandy beach right there, or just relax by the window and watch the sunset. The room was clean and tidy, well-equipped, and the bedding was comfortable. Plus, you could walk straight out to the beach from the hotel. In the evening, sitting by the sea and listening to music was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Weihai.

The location is excellent, with convenient transportation and easy access to dining, entertainment, and shopping. The hotel environment is elegant and quiet, and the rooms are clean and odor-free. Toiletries are well-stocked, and there's plenty of hot water. The staff are gentle and considerate, providing meticulous and attentive service. Overall, I had a very satisfying stay and highly recommend it!

The service was very welcoming, and the room facilities were modern and well-equipped. The balcony had a table and chairs, perfect for watching the sunset and enjoying the sea breeze, which was really convenient. The ocean was right downstairs, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was so peaceful. The front desk was also very efficient at resolving issues. The only slight drawback was the cleaning by the auntie, but that didn't detract from the overall positive experience. I had a really pleasant stay this time.

Facilities: The hotel is beautiful, and the room was clean and spacious enough. The shower had great water pressure; just make sure to angle the showerhead slightly inward, or water might seep out from the door gap. We stayed on the second floor and didn't experience any noise issues. For a family room, there weren't enough power outlets, probably due to the building being an old conversion. Location: It's not close to the subway, but the surroundings are very peaceful, and the old buildings are lovely. All the Old Town attractions are just a 10-yuan taxi ride away. There are no breakfast options nearby, so we always ate near the attractions. Service: They were very accommodating. They provided extra hangers when asked. Since there's no elevator, the hotel staff kindly helped us with our luggage up and down the stairs.

The room's decor was incredibly atmospheric. The two large beds were separated by sheer curtains, creating a sense of private space, perfect for two people. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered an amazing harbor view from the high floor. I just sank into the comfy chair and quietly watched the speedboats zipping across the water, leaving perfect curves in their wake, and observed the evening rush hour traffic on the highway. It felt like an ethereal experience, looking down at the world below. We also enjoyed takeout or late-night snacks from Taitung Night Market at the bar counter, all while taking in the night view. This room is truly ideal for couples on a staycation.

An old-school five-star hotel with top-notch service! The management is excellent, and the staff are incredibly attentive and warm. A special shout-out to Manager Dong Jiafeng, who promptly adjusted our room type to perfectly suit our needs – it seemed like nothing was too much trouble for him. At the revolving restaurant, Liu Dandan thoughtfully remembered our preferences, and her meticulous service deeply impressed us. The lovely lady from housekeeping on the 40th floor, who worked during the day from April 29th to May 5th, provided thoughtful service even when she was very busy. And the handsome young man from concierge (mostly the tall guy with glasses) was so patient and helpful with managing our deliveries, always with a warm smile. Every little detail made us feel right at home. Although the facilities aren't brand new and the elevators were undergoing renovations during the busy holiday period, the service quality was absolutely uncompromised – truly fantastic!

Pros: The hotel boasts an excellent location right by the sea, with a beach, coastal boardwalk, and Torch 8th Street all within a ten-minute walk. The facilities are comprehensive and spotlessly clean; the kitchen and washing machine are brand new, making it very convenient for extended stays with cooking and laundry. Being on a higher floor, it's quiet and pleasant with fantastic views, allowing for panoramic vistas of the mountains, sea, and city – truly beautiful. Cons: Due to high guest traffic, it's frequently booked. I recommend booking in advance. Also, check-in isn't available until after 12 PM, so if you arrive early, you might have to wait.

This place offers great value for money, especially during the off-season. The sea view is beautiful, and the loft layout with a small sofa and table makes it very relaxing and comfortable to just lie around. Getting around isn't the most convenient, as it's a bit far from the subway station. However, most attractions in Qingdao are generally a bit of a distance from the subway anyway, so it's not a huge issue. Plus, the walk along the coast from the subway station is incredibly scenic, so it's a view in itself! There are bus stops near the entrance, and it's very close to Badaguan. I think it's a great choice if you're not planning a 'checklist' style of tourism. The main downside is that it's not soundproof.

Traveling with my family during Chinese New Year, I chose this hotel because of its great reviews. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are very well maintained. The room was clean and tidy. What really stood out was the professionalism of the staff; their service was warm and attentive. They even prepared small gifts and handwritten cards during the Chinese New Year period, which made us feel right at home. The breakfast was also good, with a wide variety of choices and excellent taste. Plus, the hotel elevator goes directly to a shopping mall with plenty of dining options. It's a great hotel, definitely recommend it! (We stayed for three consecutive nights).
