"It was a little disappointing when the receptionist was being quite unprofessional as I approached her for a spare room card. She told me that the guest was British after I told her my surname meaning that she didn't consider that a Chinese person can be British, how backwards and ****** such behavior this is. Lack of exposure might be the answer ;however, I was expecting a lot more from a 4 star establishment.
Must I stress that the reason we conversed in Mandarin is a respect to the local staff yet it always backfires in situation like this. More training should be provided."

Both my three-day stay this time and my previous visit saw the main dining area completely full before the other section was opened, leading to a crowded main area and chaotic, unorganized food retrieval. "Had a great stay at Midtown Richardson Hotel in Ximen from 29 August to 2 September 2026.
The location is definitely the biggest highlight. The hotel is right in the heart of Ximending, making it extremely convenient to explore the shopping streets, restaurants, cafés and night market. Ximen MRT Station is also within easy walking distance, which made getting around Taipei very convenient.
The room was comfortable and clean, and the overall stay was pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed assistance.
I also liked how convenient the hotel was after a long day of sightseeing — plenty of food and shopping options are just steps away.
Overall, a great choice if you want to stay in the Ximending area, especially for first-time visitors to Taipei. Would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Taiwan! 🇹🇼"

Simply perfect... The overall quality and comfort were outstanding. The dorm room was spacious and airy, featuring a full-length mirror and a long table with benches in the center for guests to place their belongings. My bunk felt very comfortable and hassle-free, perhaps because I was assigned a lower bunk, which made getting in and out easy. The upper bunks might be a bit more inconvenient. A great plus was that even the lower bunks were quite high, unlike some hostels where the beds are so low you feel like you're almost lying on the floor. The shower facilities were very comfortable, and they even provided hair oil. The common areas were also delightful, cozy, and beautifully designed with excellent分区. Upon check-in, they gave me a small Tainan travel guide. I read it thoroughly and found it incredibly charming and useful. The memory of relaxing on the beanbag in the common area, reading and taking notes that evening, is still so vivid. All in all, I highly recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Tainan.

Such a clean B&B! The owners are incredibly nice, and they offer breakfast with a choice of congee, sandwiches, and soy milk. The fried dough sticks are super crispy and delicious – worth waking up early for! The room has a fridge, which is great for keeping drinks. The only downside is that the fridge compressor sometimes makes a noise, but I'm a heavy sleeper, so I didn't hear it at all while sleeping. All the facilities are perfect. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit!

既反炒This is a great onsen ryokan. The front desk service is excellent, and the room facilities are comprehensive. The hot spring water is sufficiently hot, very hygienic, and clean. I definitely recommend coming again.
Also, be sure to book breakfast in advance, otherwise, you won't get any.

Jeanette C.It was my first time visiting to Taiwan with family and friends. We had a very pleasant stay for 5 nights. The location is convenient for getting around, which made our trip much more enjoyable. The room amenities were well-equipped and met all my needs, making the stay comfortable and satisfying.
One small suggestion would be to provide a few more hangers in the room, as it would be helpful for longer stays.
Special thanks to the staff, Mr. Li (Lee). Whenever he was in charge of front desk, he was extremely helpful throughout our stay and always ready to assist with any requests. We truly appreciate his efforts in making our experience even more pleasant.
Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again.

The room is very beautiful, facing the sea, the terrace is very comfortable. The room facilities are very new, very design, the details are very intimate, the shampoo and hair dryer are very advanced. The breakfast is delicious, the tableware is beautiful, and there are cute dogs. The owner is very good, because Hualien does not have Uber, the owner helped us pay the taxi, and sent us Hualien specialty snacks before leaving. It was a particularly warm experience. I hope to come back next time.

Having a parking space is perfect for travelers driving in. The room was comfortable, very private, and super clean, with all the amenities you could need. I stayed for three days, and before my trip even ended, I'd already recommended it to friends visiting Tainan in July! 😊

We booked two rooms, one large family room and one couple room. The prior one is spacious, very well designed and it even has an amazing sauna room which was a nice touch to the stay. The kids had loads of fun and laughter. The beds are huge so it can easily fit 4 and maybe even 5 for younger kids. The later is a bit worn down with wallpaper coming off, stains around the tub and just an overall worn down feel to it. So if you can afford a few hundred NT$ more, I would suggest staying at the bigger room to enjoy a good full stay. Breakfast is delicious 😋
