Dolmabahçe is one of the most beautiful palaces I've ever visited, rich in history, tradition, and culture. It's a shame you couldn't take photos... Inside, it's a sight to behold, especially the ceremonial hall and the harem.

I tried the 1-day hop-on hop-off bus tour in Istanbul and it was okay. It’s a convenient way to see the city if you're short on time although traffic is a real killer.   It’s an open roof on the second deck so it was really hot when we went in July but the views were nice, especially crossing the Bosphorus.
