Paddle adventure to the islands of Shoalwater Bay in stable tandem sea kayaks
Itinerary
Embark on a guided full-day sea kayaking adventure from Perth and get up close to the wildlife of Western Australia in the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park. Hop on a double kayak, paddle your way around scenic Shoalwater Bay, Seal Island and Bird Island; and look out for dolphins, cheeky Australian Sea Lions, and sea birds including Pelicans, Ospreys, Cormorants and Sea Eagles.

Enjoy a healthy beachside picnic lunch (included) prepared by your guide, before a hike to the Point Peron lookout and admire the breathtaking view over the marine park.

ITINERARY:
After a 45 minute drive south from Perth to Shoalwater Marine Park (a beautiful bay with several limestone islands), we introduce people to each other and the equipment. We use easy to paddle double kayaks with waterproof compartments.

Our first paddle is to Seal Island, a distance of approximately 1 kilometre, where we look at Australian Sea Lions. Under the conditions usually experienced (light easterly breeze) this section will take about 15 minutes.

Next we paddle approximately 2 kilometres (about 30 minute paddle) to Point Peron where we land and have an excellent picnic lunch. After this people can fall asleep under a tree or in the sun, snorkel, swim, do some more kayaking, or go exploring, whatever they wish.

Around 1:30pm we muster for the return to Australia, often rafting the boats up and sailing back if the winds are right. This is a distance of approximately 2.5 kilometres.

After packing the gear and changing into dry clothes (there is a toilet block at the start/finish point) we drive back to Perth, arriving approx 3.30pm.
