Itinerary
Meet your guide and begin your trek through the stunningly lit tourist section of the cave. Reach the end of the boardwalk, where your guide will open the gate for you to step down onto the cave floor and begin your caving adventure.
Explore the cave formations in the darkness with just the light of your head torch. Perhaps see the endemic eyeless cave fish, and marvel at the wonders of this huge passage that is 100 meters wide and 150 meters high in sections.
Swim a section of the cave or take a kayak if you can't swim. Enjoy a BBQ lunch underground with local foods.
Key Features:
1. Extended Exploration:
The 4km Adventure Tour allows you to explore about 4 kilometers of the cave, which is a deeper and more rugged section compared to the standard tourist route, which covers only the first 1 kilometer.
This extended tour takes you beyond the well-lit boardwalk and into more remote and less touristy parts of the cave.
2. Challenging Terrain:
While not as physically demanding as the 7km tour, the 4km route still offers some physical challenges. Visitors will need to climb, navigate narrow paths, and sometimes crawl through tight spaces.
There will be uneven and slippery sections, so a moderate level of fitness is required. It's a great option for those who want more adventure than the standard route but prefer a less strenuous experience compared to the 7km option.
3. Unspoiled Beauty:
The deeper sections of the cave that are included in the 4km tour are far less crowded and feature some of the most incredible stalactites, stalagmites, and rock formations in the cave.
You'll see surreal rock formations, some resembling animals, trees, and even frozen waterfalls. The formations in this section are more untouched and pristine, making it an ideal choice for nature lovers who want to experience the cave in its natural state.
4. Equipment and Safety:
As with the 7km Adventure Tour, you'll be provided with safety equipment, including helmets, gloves, and headlamps, as these deeper sections of the cave are not lit.
A guide will accompany you on the tour, ensuring your safety while also providing interesting facts and information about the cave's history, geology, and ecology.
The cave's interior can be damp and slippery, so sturdy, waterproof shoes are a must. It's also recommended to wear comfortable, lightweight clothing.
5. Guided Tour:
A knowledgeable local guide will lead you through the 4km route, explaining the cave's history, how it was formed, and its unique features. The guide will also ensure your safety as you explore the cave's more challenging sections.
The tour is designed to provide an educational and exciting experience, with plenty of time to appreciate the formations and natural wonders of the cave.
6. Less Crowded:
Since the 4km route goes deeper into the cave, it's typically less crowded than the first kilometer, which is frequently visited by tourists. This gives you the chance to enjoy the cave in a more peaceful, tranquil setting.
