Enoshima is a tombolo island connected to the mainland by a sandbar, located near the Shonan coast. It's the fishing spot frequently visited by Sendoh in the anime "Slam Dunk." The island features attractions like an aquarium, sea caves, and the Bell of Love, making it a perfect destination for couples and friends to explore together. On clear days, you can also enjoy views of Mount Fuji. Enoshima is bustling in July and August, offering not only beach swimming but also excellent surfing spots along the beaches between Kamakura and Chigasaki. The island is lush with greenery, where humans and animals coexist harmoniously, and you'll often spot adorable cats and eagles.Fujisawa · 4.5 km from downtown

The Enoshima Observatory Lighthouse is an observation lighthouse in the Samuel Cocking Botanical Garden, which was rebuilt in 2003 as the same botanical garden. The total height including the lightning rod is 59.8 meters (119.6 meters above sea level), and its novel design has been widely welcomed as a new symbol of Enoshima. At 41.74 meters above the ground (101.56 meters above sea level), there is an observation room with large glass windows on all sides, and an outdoor observation deck above it, where you can enjoy expansive views of Mt. Fuji and Tanzawa. On the first floor, in addition to the entrance, there are restaurants, a gift shop, and a local reference room. In addition, from dusk to 10 p.m., the lighting colors of the observation lighthouse are constantly changing, so that the lighthouse presents various colors, allowing tourists to enjoy the sight.Fujisawa · 4.5 km from downtown

Enoshima Rock House is a cave that was eroded by waves. Legend has it that these caves are connected to the Narusawa Ice Cave on Mount Fuji. You can pick up candles at the ticket counter to explore the cave yourself. There is a mysterious atmosphere inside the cave due to the reverberation of the sound of the waves. On a clear day, you can see Mt. Fuji and Sagami Bay from the open space.Fujisawa · 4.7 km from downtown

Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden is located at the top of Enoshima in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is a unique garden that blends historical ruins, horticultural views, and coastal scenery, and is one of the iconic attractions on Enoshima. It was built on the former site of the botanical garden established by British merchant Samuel Cocking in the late 19th century. It was named to commemorate his contribution to the horticultural development of Enoshima and has now become an important leisure spot for displaying seasonal flowers and enjoying views of the Shonan coast. It features a rich variety of flowers, tropical plants, and ornamental trees, with seasonal views that are unique to each time of year. In spring, cherry blossoms are in full bloom, summer is lush and green, in fall you can enjoy colorful flower beds, and in winter an illumination event is held, where hundreds of thousands of LED lights decorate the entire garden, making it a famous winter night view in the Kanto region.Fujisawa · 4.5 km from downtown

Located on a small hill on Enoshima Island, the Bell of Dragon Love is a popular place to pray for luck in love. Although the location is a bit out of the way, it is definitely a romantic spot that must be visited. Legend has it that as long as lovers ring the bell of dragon love together, the two will be together forever happily. There are also locks on the iron pole next to it, because people believe that as long as the name is written on the lock and locked on the railing, it will imply that the love between the two is locked, and they can pray for a happy and long-lasting relationship, making the two of them happy. never part.Fujisawa · 4.7 km from downtown

Enoshima is accessible by train, and the tour is free. I don't think the elevator is necessary if you can climb something like Yuexiu Mountain, but if you have children, they seem to be free, so you might as well buy an adult elevator ticket. There are several shrines and an observation tower up there. There's a place selling local snacks like bread and octopus cakes (which are also sold down below). I think there are hot springs and hotels in the island area, as well as open-air bars and cafes, which seemed quite nice. I took a quick tour, which took about an hour, including crossing the bridge. I wouldn't recommend expecting to see Mount Fuji; it was hazy.

Enoshima Observation Lighthouse is also a very famous attraction in Enoshima. There are actually quite a lot of tourists coming here. The lighthouse here is not very high but the scenery is amazing.

Quite fun going through Enoshima Iwaya Cave. The admission fare quite reasonable. You are given a paper lantern to use in the cave. As you go along you will be greeted with a dragon by how loud you clap your hands. That was quite amusing! Then you will be rewards with the most breathtaking views from inside looking out into the water.

The reason why this place has become a popular pilgrimage site in Enoshima is that Jun Matsumoto and Juri Ueno filmed "Her Facing the Sunny Side" here. Legend has it that if lovers visit this place together and ring this bell together, they will gain eternal love.

It's lit up at night and is very beautiful ♡ The ocean can be seen from the observation deck, which is very romantic ⭐️ You can also take the ropeway up, but if you have time, I recommend walking up as a stroll ✨ It's sure to refresh your mind and body!
