We saw five wonderful natural wonders while enjoying someone else driving. Seeing lava fields, an Iclandic 'forest', tectonic plates, geysers, steam fields, and natural lagoons all ina day was great. Our group of three wished for more time to explore at each location. Events a remarkable guide. Who shared many tidbits of lore and knowledge. He was true to his word about talking all the way to the last stop and then allowing us quiet time - at least until someone asked a question or two.

Let me start by saying that we did see whales! If we don't, the company gives you the chance to go again. And that alone gets at least a 4 out of 5. On the boat, the guide shows you where to look, but either the speaker is weak or it's simply not powerful enough for such a large space, but the guide is pretty hard to hear from the middle, let alone the back, of the boat. They provide equipment, but I'm not sure they sanitize it, so it's best to sanitize your hands. They also give you motion sickness pills. A huge plus: after the trip, they send you photos if you missed anything (you should email them), and a review listing the species you saw. Overall, a 4+. But if you can, book a miniboat tour; it's not much more expensive, and the experience will be much greater.

I did this route last year, and this time when I revisited, I specially chose to join a small group tour to the tomato farm. It was definitely worth the trip! There was an Icelandic horse show, a farm greenhouse display, and while it was freezing outside, it was warm and cozy inside. Everything was so clean and tidy. The staff were well-dressed, generous, and polite. I enjoyed delicious tomato soup with farm-baked bread. I was happy and moved. Despite the harsh environment, they still strive to create a beautiful home. That's the Icelander!
