Tiantangzhai is located where Anhui's Jinzhai County and Hubei's Luotian County meet and is one of the major attractions of the Dabie Mountains. The scenic area is named after the main peak, Tiantangzhai, which is also called Tiantang Summit. It is the second highest summit in the Dabie Mountains and serves as the divide between the Yangtze and Huai River watersheds. One reason to visit Tiantangzhai is to hike and breathe the fresh air. Another reason is to see the waterscapes and waterfalls. The water quality is pristine, and if you watch carefully, you may discover a rare giant salamander.Jinzhai · 66.9 km from downtown

Wanfo Lake Scenic Area is surrounded by Wanfo Lake, formerly known as Longhekou Reservoir, which is located 30 kilometers southwest of Shucheng County, about 80 kilometers from Hefei and 73 kilometers from Lu'an. The first purpose of going to Wanfo Lake is to see the lake view, the lake water is clear, and there are many small islands in the lake; the second is to see the water conservancy project. The Wanfo Lake Dam was built in 1960. It was built entirely by hand by the people during the three-year natural disaster. It is very remarkable. Wanfo Lake is not small, but the transportation is not convenient. You can drive by yourself and travel around the lake freely. Wanfo Lake Dam is on the north bank of the lake. Tourists usually pass by here first. To the west of the dam is the departure pier where you can take a Cruise. The Cruise have different types and different fees. There are some islands in the lake where you can go to play, such as Yanzi Island, Zhouyu Island, Dragon King Island, etc. Of course, you need to take a boat to go to the island. The vegetation on the island is lush, and the man-made attractions on the island are relatively ordinary. If you don't take a boat, you can also take a walk on the shore. There are some hotels with lake view rooms around Wanfo Lake, and some local restaurants on the way around the lake. It is recommended to taste the local delicacies in the hotels or restaurants - Wanfo Lake fish head, Wanfo Lake abalone, Wanfo Lake steamed fish, Wanfo Lake drunken shrimp, Wanfo Lake shrimp soup, which are known as the "five delicious flowers of Wanfo Lake". Among them, Wanfo Lake fish head is the most famous. Then order a pot of local famous tea "Shucheng Xiaolanhua Tea", don't mention how comfortable it is. Although the price of Dining in the Attraction is a bit expensive, the taste makes people feel that it is worth the money. The advantage of self-driving is that if you are interested, you can also go to Tangchi Town, Shucheng County, Lu'an City, about 10 kilometers east of Sanjiang Wharf, to soak in hot springs. Because this Tangchi Town is west of Tangchi Town, Lujiang County, Hefei City, it is called "West Tangchi". Or drive to Wanfo Mountain, 64 kilometers southwest of Wanfo Lake, where the water of Wanfo Lake comes from. Wanfo Mountain is relatively remote, and the main peak Laofoding is 1,539 meters above sea level. If you want to play, you can stay at the foot of the mountain at night and spend a whole day climbing the mountain the next day.Shucheng · 25.5 km from downtown

Great Rift Valley in Wanxi, 25 kilometers south of Lu'an City, is known as "Three Gates" due to its lotus root-like shape. The main attraction is a challenging canyon climb with narrow passages, vertical iron ladders, and cascading water curtains. Each gate offers unique scenery: steep cliffs, a "line of sky," and a 50-meter-high water curtain. Other sites include Dawangjing and Xiongqiyan. Crowds are common during holidays, so weekdays are better for visiting. The climb is physically demanding, and children under 1.2 meters and people over 70 are advised to use the easier mountain path.Lu'an · 29.6 km from downtown

Many high mountain peaks are located within Tiantangzhai Scenic Area. If you go to of the mountain at Tiantangzhai, you will have a glorious, unobstructed 360° view of the mountain peaks rolling away from you. Be sure to view a sunrise in the early morning or a sunset at night, during which the scenery is at its most spectacular. After rain has cleared out the sky, you can climb the mountain early in the morning to see the “cloud sea.” Tiantangzhai has been fought over by military strategists since ancient times and has been the focal point of many major campaigns. This was also an important area of action in the push of the Liu-Deng army into the Dabie Mountains.China · Luotian County

Under the jurisdiction of Jinzhai County, Lu'an City, the Swallow River Grand Crayon is far from the urban area and the county. It lies in the southwest, near the junction of Anhui and Hubei Provinces, not far from the 5A-level scenic spot Tiantangzhai. With few tourists, the Grand Crayon is very quiet. It is dominated by water features, complemented by strange stones, and is a good place for leisure travel.Jinzhai · 54.2 km from downtown

The Dabie Mountain Rainbow Waterfall is located in Anqing City's Huangwei Village. It is famous because it is featured in the legend of the Herd Boy and Weaver Girl's encounter at Houhe Canyon. The Huangwei River and the Houhe River converge in the scenic area. There are many small islands scattered in the rivers, which form a natural art gallery spanning over thousands of meters. The waterfall cascades into the pool and the accumulated water forms a thin misty layer. When visitors are lucky enough to visit on a sunny day, they are enchanted with a brilliant rainbow in front of the waterfall.Yuexi · 71.1 km from Lu'an

The Dabie Mountains Main Peak Scenic Area spans three provinces: Hubei, Henan, and Anhui, and forms the watershed between the Yangtze and Huai Rivers. Legend has it that Li Bai once visited this area, climbed Baima Peak, and, gazing at the scenery to the north and south, exclaimed, "South of the mountain, wildflowers bloom in profusion; to the north, snow blankets the landscape. This mountain is truly unlike any other," hence its name. The Dabie Mountains Main Peak Scenic Area is not only magnificent and breathtaking, but it is also the cradle of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army. Baima Peak, located at the border of Tianzhu Mountain and Yuexi County in Anhui Province, is home to three of the highest peaks. Arranged in a triangular pattern, the main peak Baima Peak and the secondary peak Duoyun Peak stand closely together, while the third peak, Tianhe Peak, to the south echoes its majestic presence.Huoshan · 32.9 km from downtown

Take a bus to the entrance, then hike up and down for a total of 4 hours (less than 4 hours for those in good physical condition; expect double the time for children or the elderly). It is recommended to walk along the waterfall. If you don't want to walk down after reaching the top, take the cable car (because the other side is steep and the scenery is not as good as the waterfall side).

Wanfo Lake is absolutely stunning! The lake and mountains complement each other beautifully, offering expansive views. Climbing to a higher vantage point to gaze at the lake is truly invigorating. The air is fresh, making a stroll along the lake incredibly pleasant, and it's also perfect for a family outing with children. The scenic area boasts excellent facilities, clear routes, and breathtaking landscapes, making it a wonderful place to relax and unwind—definitely worth a visit!

The Anhui Grand Canyon was a fantastic experience! The "One Line Sky" section is particularly unique, with some sections requiring you to climb by holding onto iron chains, offering a thrilling adventure. The altitude isn't high, making it suitable for short weekend hikes and family trips.

The air was fresh and pleasant, but unfortunately it was a cloudy and rainy day, shrouded in fog. The sun peeked out briefly on the way down the mountain. The scenery would have been absolutely stunning if the weather had been better. It was a bit of a shame.

Environment: No worse than Lushan Waterfall. Perhaps Lushan Waterfall is less impressive because the poet Li Bai visited it. The waterfalls of the Dabie Mountains cascade down, creating a magnificent and refreshing sight, nourishing the soul. We arrived at the waterfall at 9:30 AM and didn't see a rainbow. The entire scenic area was very cool. Since it wasn't a holiday, it wasn't crowded. The boat ride cost 50 yuan; remember to bargain if you're an adult and a child. My personal suggestion: definitely buy tickets online in advance. You can buy a basic package first (rainbow + scenic shuttle + rafting), then buy whatever else you like inside, and you can bargain. There are three types of rafting; the one we tried was the least fun. The river rafting requires you to paddle manually, so make sure you understand the details beforehand. The overall environment of the scenic area is quite nice, but the facilities and services are a bit lacking. Our two-day trip to western Anhui was spent entirely in the mountains, so we didn't get a real sense of nature.

Overall it's good. Canyon rafting is exciting and water fights are fun. I thought the ticket price was a bit expensive at first, but I will come again. The children also had a lot of fun. It's worth playing.

This was originally the Meishan Reservoir Hydropower Station, nestled among mountains. The dam is magnificent and imposing, construction of which began in 1954. Building such a grand project in those days was remarkable, and many leaders have inspected it, including Chairman Mao, Deng Xiaoping, Qiao Shi, and Wen Jiabao. Tickets can be purchased online. After purchasing tickets, you can drive to the paid parking lot below the ticket gate (10 yuan per entry) or park outside the ticket office for free. It's about a ten-minute walk. Here's a tip: the platform on the steps on the hillside to the left of the ticket office is an excellent spot for taking photos of the reservoir. If you only want to take photos, you don't need to pay extra to enter. Overall, the scenery here is beautiful and magnificent, well worth a visit.
