Xixia Dinosaur Relics Park
Xixia Dinosaur Relics Park, located in Danshui Town, Xixia County, Nanyang City, is an important attraction in Funiu Mountain National Geopark. The Xixia Dinosaur Site belongs to the Cretaceous rift basin deposits. More than 1,000 dinosaur egg fossils have been exposed in the upper layers, and there are at least 16 egg-laying layers in the lower layers. Among them, the Xixia giant elongated egg and the Gobi prismatic egg are rare in the world and are the symbols of Xixia egg fossils. A large number of dinosaur egg fossils have been unearthed in Xixia, which are diverse, widely distributed and well-preserved. Laojun Mountain Scenic Spot

Longmen Grottoes

The Three Gorges Dam Tourism Area
The Three Gorges Dam Tourism Area is located in the Xiling Gorge section of the Yangtze River in Yichang, Hubei. Currently, it offers travelers three viewing spots: Tanzi Ridge, the 185 viewing platform, and the river closure memorial park. The dam crest itself is not open to travelers, so visits primarily revolve around these three attractions. Tanzi Ridge is the highest accessible point in the dam area, named for its jar-shaped summit viewing platform resembling an overturned jar. It also served as the survey site for the dam's initial location selection. From the ridge top, visitors can overlook the Three Gorges Project in its entirety—the dam, power station, and twin five-level ship locks are all visible. The five lock chambers cascade down the mountainside, earning the nickname "Fourth Gorge of the Yangtze." The park displays engineering artifacts like ancient riverbed stones, river closure rocks, and foundation stones from the dam site, complemented by model exhibits that help visitors intuitively understand the origins and development of this mega-project. The 185 observation platform is located on the left bank of the dam. It gets its name from sharing the same elevation of 185 m as the dam crest. Standing on the platform feels like being atop the dam: on one side, the dam and vertical ship lift are within close reach, offering a chance to witness ships "riding the elevator" over the dam; on the other side lies the vast, tranquil reservoir upstream. The stark contrast between the stillness above and the dynamism below the dam is striking. The closure memorial park is situated on the right bank downstream of the dam, preserving artifacts like tetrahedral closure stones and large loading machinery used during the construction. It's an ideal spot to view the dam's full frontal grandeur. During flood seasons when the dam releases water, torrents rush out from the deep outlets, creating towering mist and thunderous echoes that reverberate through the valley—a truly awe-inspiring spectacle. 内乡县衙，位于伏牛山南麓南阳盆地西沿内乡县城东街，坐北面南，沪陕高速、312国道和宁西铁路穿县境而过，距离南阳市区约60公里，我国保存最完整的封建时代县级官署衙门。内乡县衙为国家4A级景区，位于河南省南阳市内乡县城东大街。据《内乡县志》记载，县衙始建于元大德八年(公元1304年)，历经明、清多次维修和扩建，逐渐形成一组规模宏大的官衙式建筑群。县衙座北朝南，占地面积8500平方米，中轴线上排列着主体建筑大门、大堂、二堂、迎宾厅、三堂，两侧建有庭院和东西账房等，共6组四合院，85间房屋，均为清代建筑。整个县衙建筑，布局对称、合理、紧凑，主次分明，高低错落，井然有序，浑然一体，具有我国南北方古建筑的文化艺术风格，是迄今全国保存最为完整的古代县衙，现为全国重点文物保护单位，享有“龙头在北京，龙尾在内乡”的美誉！

The exhibit mainly features dinosaur eggs, and the collection is very rich.
There's a horizontally excavated tunnel that cuts directly through the strata containing dinosaur egg fossils, showcasing three different geological layers. At the end is a vertical shaft leading directly to the surface, revealing the layered distribution of dinosaur eggs vertically.
The core exhibition hall houses a collection of large dinosaur fossils from various regions, including a gigantic dinosaur estimated to be 10-20 meters long, spanning the entire hall – truly spectacular. It's very interesting for children and a rare and awe-inspiring geological wonder for adults.
While the exhibition hall is large, the exhibits are relatively limited.

Visited the Terra Cotta Warriors museum after Lishan Garden in the late afternoon. Crowd was fortunately manageable. Opted for the smart digital guide instead of hiring a guide. Rental cost is 30rmb with a deposit of 100rmb. Rental is only at one manned spot on the right after entry. Return is right before the last exit so do remember to return before you leave the museum. The digital smart guide is rather engaging with a story telling POV and simulated graphics which helps the user to imagine the reality 2000 years ago. I feel the digital smart guide is more informative than the one I rented at Lishan Garden (operated by two different companies). Renting a digital smart guide is a better choice if you can understand mandarin and likes to travel at your own pace be it slow or fast. It is also much cheaper and more convenient!

The scenery is beautiful, and the light show at the Golden Summit is also very nice. However, the management of the scenic area needs improvement. While one cable car is under maintenance, the other should be properly managed. The queues were too long; the first-level cable car took almost two hours, and the second-level cable car took almost an hour. My legs were already exhausted before even entering the scenic area. Also, each cable car can only hold eight people, but some only had four or five people on board before leaving. Staff should arrange for them to wait until seven or eight people are on board before letting them off, which would shorten the queue time.

Longmen Grottoes is truly an amazing place to visit and one of China’s most remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The breathtaking Buddhist sculptures and centuries of history make this place so special.As I walked through this beautiful and historic site, I couldn’t help but think of my mom. I know she would have loved to see this place with her own eyes. It breaks my heart that she left this world too soon and never had the chance to experience this beauty.Mom, I wish you were here with me to share these precious moments.
