Absolutely ๐ฏ brilliant ๐ staff are so so helpful and they are so friendly, Caroline on reception is one of the best ๐ I highly recommend this hotel, my husband and I go there at least once a month for 3 nights ๐ we never want to leave ๐ we could do with all hotels upping their game to the same standard as the connaught hotel Galway. Thanks to all the amazing smiling ๐ staff for making our stay so good. Looking forward to going back soon please God ๐

We stayed on the 5th of September. It's a beautiful hotel.
We enjoyed everything about this place except the unbearable heat in the room. It was impossible to sleep. There was a portable fan but it was very noisy.And even when it's on, it wasn't helpful. No air conditioner. We had a very poor sleep.
And no matter how much we enjoyed the gym, swimming pool, food, friendly staff and the atmosphere of the hotel, we would not stay here next time.

The hotel was lovely, the room was very clean and cosy. The food was amazing. And the staff were all fantastic, so friendly and helpful - especially Ross at reception! I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be staying here again!! :)

JjfshVery convenient location - just a minute or two walk from the train station. Room was clean, facilities were reasonable for the price. The issue we did have though was not receiving any check-in details prior to arriving in the evening. While trying to check in, a few groups managed to check in - having received earlier that day an email from the accommodation. For whatever reason, we didn't get ours. After a number of messages/calls and seeking assistance from the hotel across the road, we managed to finally receive comms from the accommodation in order to gain entry. While the individual from Madison House was adamant they sent the email, they weren't able to provide proof of this upon request...

Amazing
GGuest UserAmazing accomodation in Athenry. We booked this accomodation because it was a 20 minute train ride from Galway and the lodge was a very short walk from the train station. We really enjoyed being at the Lodge at the Old Barracks. The accomodation had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. But what was a true highlight was the breakfast at the cafe below (included with our booking) - the food was so delicious and better than any other hotel breakfast Iโve had. Would come back just for the breakfast!!ย
Small note, the floor above creaked when the people moved around the room above which was a bit of a disturbance early in the morning or at night.ย
But overall, would 10/10 recommend!
