3-Star Hotels in Nagano Prefecture, Japan

Located at Nagano Station East Exit, primarily booked for an early morning departure to Hakuba ⛷️. The location is super convenient, just across the street from the station. The room was a decent size, but the odor control wasn't great; it was a non-smoking room but still had a slight smoky smell. The duvet was very uncomfortable because it had a sheet separating it – I really dislike that type of bedding, it made for an uncomfortable sleep. There's a convenience store nearby which is handy. The entire East Exit area is a bit desolate. It was just a stopover for one night, so I had to make do. Booking it for around 700-800 on a weekend felt a bit like a rip-off…

The hotel is very close to the station, with a 7/11 downstairs. The area is lively, a hub for restaurants and malls, yet surprisingly quiet – a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle. The room size is generous for a Japanese hotel, and the facilities are modern and well-maintained. On the 11th floor, there's an open-air onsen with complimentary Yakult and cold drinks, and free ramen is offered in the evenings. I had a very satisfying stay and highly recommend it.

Receptionist was very friendly, recommending places to eat and things to do. Room was clean. The washing machine is free to use. Bed was very soft and comfortable. Location is about 15-20 mins walk from nagano station. And about 10 mins walk to zenkoji temple, you can wake up early and walk to see the early morning prayer that occurs at sunrise. Lots of food options as it is beside gondo shopping street

About a 10-minute walk to the pond and 10 minutes to the train station, making it convenient yet peaceful. • On-site parking available right in front of the hotel. • Complimentary 24-hour vending machine offering both hot and cold drinks (green tea, black tea, coffee, and water). • Comfortable mattress that ensures a good night’s sleep. • Clean and well-maintained rooms and common areas. • 24-hour lobby access, which is especially convenient for late-night workers or travelers arriving at odd hours. ❌ Cons • No elevator, which may be inconvenient if you have heavy luggage. • Guests are required to change shoes before accessing the second floor, which can feel slightly inconvenient.

This was a last minute selection on the train from Tokyo, but the right one. It's a short 5 minute walk from the Nagano station and has spacious rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful, but best of all, on arrival you are given a welcome drink and dessert of your choice. The entire place seems to be obsessed with desserts, to my liking. They also provides free ice cream and upon check out, bags of candy and cookies. Maybe it's a Christmas promotion, but a welcome surprise. The breakfast is a bit expensive, but has a nice selection of food choices, including salmon, more desserts, and various Japanese food. I only stayed one night, but I believe they have an onsen and other amenities. Well worth it. I stayed in other hotels in Nagano, and this one was superior.

The room was tiny, so small that I had to open my suitcase in the hallway. Otherwise, it had all the standard amenities. The hotel's hallway was nice, and the service was standard. The biggest advantage is its excellent location – it's just a minute's walk across the street to the train station's shopping mall. There are plenty of food options and restaurants nearby, and it's much livelier than the east exit side. Breakfast was better than expected, the soba noodles were delicious, and they even had Nagano apples! The desserts were good too! It's an okay spot for a quick stopover on the way to Hakuba.

Bed is rather small for 2. Room space hard to move about but we managed since it is for a night stay. Like the cleanliness and amenities provided. Location to the main Nagano station helps! Live up to its hotel's name as staff were very welcoming and they smiled 😀

The room is small but well-maintained. The location is fantastic with great views from the rooftop, although there's only a vending machine up there. It would be excellent if the hotel offered more amenities.

Amazing family run ryokan just few minutes drive from Snow Monkey Park. Booked a room with a private in-room onsen but it didn't make much sense as the bath was hot but there was no hot water in the shower. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and futon. Nice yukatas and socks were provided in the room. Public baths in the ryokan are great (especially outdoor area), we tried both of them. The kaiseki dinner and japanese breakfast are VERY delicious. The staff and the owner are so nice and welcoming. The free transfer to the Monkey Park is available at 9:45 am
