I stayed for four nights and had to switch rooms three times. The first room had a clogged bathroom drain that couldn't be fixed. The second room's bedside lamp wouldn't turn off completely, leaving a dim light. I've forgotten what was wrong with the third room, but it was just so exhausting. I booked multiple nights specifically for convenience, and instead, I spent my time constantly changing rooms. What a hassle!

The hotel is located near the heart of Dotonbori, close to Don Donki, and within walking distance of Shinsaibashi and Namba. There is a 7-Eleven right outside, as well as a tax-free drugstore, which is very convenient. Check-in and check-out were both fast and smooth. You can leave your luggage at the hotel, but it is at your own risk. I hope next time they will take better care of the luggage, similar to other nearby hotels. Our water closet bidet was not working properly during our stay. The Super Twin Room was clean and spacious, which we appreciated. However, we hope the pillows can be a bit fluffier, as they were quite flat. It would also be better if there were two pillows provided per bed for added comfort

One of the best Budget hotels I have been to. Super clean and has everything you need. The location may seem a little bit scary for some people because of it’s proximity to many homeless encampments. But the homeless population will not even try to bother you. I recommend for solo and friend groups.

The room was nice, enough space to open luggage etc, come with 1 type c and 1 usb plug. 2 bathroom and 2 toilet on my floor for female, the washer and dryer is available at lv1. The bathroom got a little messy on 2 of those night i stayed, prolly because the other ppl stayed there didn't throw papers nicely. It was not cleaned for a night or 2. Tho hotel was not bad, but the location is slightly unsafe, as the route from donbutusen-mae need to go through small dark alleys. From JR wise, its just one route, but left right has no shops open starting evening, with constrcution sites plus a factory-looking place. Will be ok if you are not a solo traveller imo!

The location was great, just a few minutes’ walk to a convenience store and a nearby train station, and about a 20-minute walk to Dotonbori, which made getting around very convenient. The room itself was comfortable, but only one pillow was provided. When we requested an extra pillow, we were informed that it would cost ¥500 per pillow, which was a little disappointing. We were also advised that if any items were left on the bed, the room would not be cleaned for the day, which felt quite restrictive. Overall, the hotel is well located, but guests may want to be aware of these policies before booking.

The location of this hotel is one of the best within this price. Just a few steps from a main train station and only a hundred meters to Dotonbori. 1-day trip tour guide meeting point is located next to the hotel. The room is small, but it is acceptable by japanese hotel standard. Clean and everything in the room works fine. The only complaint: There was a false fire alarm around midnight. False alarm is understandable and acceptable, but the staffs didn't do anything about the situation. A lot of guests were evacuated downstair without winter jacket and they looked cold, waiting outside, but staffs didn't come out of their counter and tell about the false alarm. We didn't know that was a false alarm and were waiting until a guest who was close by to the counter and asked. Later, he was the one told other guests. I had stayed in Koko hotel chain a few times, but this incident made me feel losing trust. Picture: the station close by and a lot of 1-day tour set a meeting point here.

The location is near the train station and the tower. The room have drinking water and more space but very small toilet and bathtub. At night, the light is too bright, even though there is curtain. The luggage cannot leave for free at the front after checkout. The staff is welcome to help.

Staying here felt like winning the lottery, especially booking the Japanese-style room! It comes with an extra tatami room which is super convenient for organizing luggage. The room itself is huge, very new, and the front desk service was excellent. Storing luggage was also a breeze. The bed was incredibly comfortable – everything was just so convenient. And right downstairs, there's an entire snack street; it felt like walking through an amusement park!

This is my second stay here, and it offers great value for money with clean rooms. This time I came with my son, and we booked two separate rooms without any hesitation. The hotel's location is excellent; although it's a bit of a walk to the Midosuji Line, it's a straightforward walk down one street from the hotel, and there are FamilyMart and Lawson convenience stores along the way. The hotel provides various luggage forwarding services, like Airporter and sending luggage to your next hotel, which are very convenient. The front desk staff are incredibly helpful, answering every question and providing hands-on instructions. This time, I had a late flight. After checking out in the morning, I stored my luggage. When I returned around 6 PM, the hotel front desk was still able to help me fully charge my devices, and I used the restroom before heading out. Their service truly stands out among chain hotels. The bed is large and comfortable, though the pillow was a bit high. The air conditioning allows you to adjust both heating and cooling. Most importantly, the smoke detector above the bed doesn't have a red light, which is perfect for light and sound-sensitive sleepers.

Compared to places back home, it's definitely on the smaller side, but for Japan, the size is actually quite acceptable. It wasn't as cramped or dated as I'd imagined. With the lights on, it felt quite cozy, and the window provided good natural light. My only minor gripes were the lack of complimentary water and that housekeeping only came every three days. On the plus side, there's a 7-Eleven nearby, which is super convenient, and it's also very close to Tenkachaya Station. The neighborhood is residential and felt very safe, completely unlike what some online comments suggest about the 'western district' being full of homeless people; even at 9 or 10 PM, there were no drunks or homeless individuals around. Luggage storage is under camera surveillance with no staff supervision, which initially made me a little worried, but my bags were perfectly safe after half a day. All in all, it's very affordable and offers excellent value for money. 🫶

HHeiressjloThe room itself is well maintained and the facilities are common basic ones that I need as a solo female traveler. It a 5 minute walk to Juso Station and a lot of convenience store around. They have a coin laundry machine as well so it was easier to wash clothes when I needed it. All additional things that you need such as toiletries are also readily available at the lobby area. And the best part was the free breakfast!

GGuest UserThe hotel is right next to Yotsubashi Station. If you're coming from Shinsaibashi, it's quite a long walk for an in-station transfer, which isn't very convenient. There's a McDonald's and a 24-hour supermarket downstairs. However, the 10 AM check-out time is unacceptable; hotels in Tokyo and Aomori all have 11 AM check-out. On the first night, I asked the front desk for an extra pillow and blanket but was told they didn't have any. Breakfast access is denied after 9:30 AM, and the selection is very limited. The room size was the smallest I encountered during my entire trip to Japan. The price is a bit high, making the value for money just average. While a 26-inch suitcase can be opened, for a family trip, kids pretty much have to sit on the bed as there's not much space to move around. The bathtub and toilet are in the same bathroom, not a separate setup. Overall, if I visit Osaka again, I won't consider this hotel. I strongly advise against booking the breakfast; for over 100 yen per person, you're better off getting something at McDonald's downstairs.

JJuexiaodiThe hotel is a 10-minute walk from the subway station and consists of two buildings: the main building and an annex. The rooms aren't huge, but they're a good size for hotels in the same price range. They offer 24-hour hot water, coffee, drinks, and a microwave for heating food, which is great. Free luggage storage is also available. There's a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, so communication was seamless. Breakfast was decent too. The only downside, if I had to pick one, was the constant stream of tour groups. It's also just a 5-minute walk from the main shopping street in Shinsaibashi.

DDr. Justin HattThis hotel appears to have recently been purchased by the LiveMax Group and so, it was really challenging trying to find this location when I first arrived because the name on trip.com had changed, but the name on various map applications still referred to the original name. The location itself is pretty much halfway between two metro stations, so it is a little bit of a walk away from a station, which is a bit of a problem when you have luggage, although this can easily be rectified by getting a taxi using Uber or another similar application. One thing to note about the location that might be a concern for some particular guests is that there are a lot of bars and locations nearby, including one neighbouring location, that provide explicit services for more “mature” audiences. Generally speaking, though, there were no issues that came up, particularly with the location itself as it remained generally quiet, and Japan is usually considered a safer location for visiting anyway. Staff at the hotel can speak some English, which is good, and they are very helpful. Their service was great throughout. There is also a breakfast buffet every morning, and they serve a wide variety of foods in this buffet; the only thing you need to watch out for is to make sure that you eat everything that you take because they have a clear sign posted to tell you that they will charge a fee if you waste food unnecessarily. The hotel does have a laundromat below ground level, but I did not see much else for amenities. The hotel offers house cleaning daily, but you must request it at reception before 10 AM; otherwise, they will not service your room. The room itself was small, but I understood this going into the hotel and as a solo traveler, this was reasonable. There is a capsule style washroom in the room, similar to other hotels I have visited in Osaka, with a full toilet with bidet features And a tap that works for the sink and bathtub both. The bathtub, however, was smaller at one end and was more challenging to use, especially for me as someone who is a little bit bigger, although not impossible. The one major issue I had, though, was with the ventilation above the bathtub, which clearly was caked in dust; I was able to clean out the dust myself, but I did require house cleaning immediately after. I did have to request house cleaning a few times during the stay, not solely for the issue of the dust, but also because the towels that were provided were not very thick and so, needed to be replaced more often.

AAdam_HKSAR## Hygiene and Service: The hotel has a policy that guests must put out a 'clean my room' sign before 10 AM each day for full housekeeping. Otherwise, only towels and trash bags will be replaced. Even with full cleaning, it's just a basic tidying up; linens and pillowcases are not changed. ## Location: It's a bit far from Osaka JR Station, but you can get there directly via bus #88. There's a convenience store downstairs, but not many restaurants in the immediate vicinity. ## Facilities: There's a public bath (which is also open to the public, so it can get very crowded in the evenings). On the first floor, the lobby offers soda, coffee, and an ice machine for guests to use at any time.

CChocoAlisonThe location is very convenient, with JR lines directly to the airport and Expo, Osaka Loop Line and Midosuji Line directly to the city center. There is a large 7-11 and a Café de Cabrera downstairs. A five-minute walk will take you to a super large Life supermarket, which sells sashimi, bento, and cooked food. For breakfast, there are a variety of packaged breads, rice balls, drinks and soups, as well as yogurt pudding and yogurt, but you have to go early, as there will be no choice after 8:30. You can take your breakfast back to your room and eat it without taking it out of the hotel. Free umbrellas are provided when it rains. There is no bottled water in the room, only a kettle. Ice can be picked up on the 8th floor. There is coffee and tea bags available for pick-up in the lobby. The hotel only provides shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, and skin care product samples need to be purchased for 500 yen. The hygiene is very good. The auntie cleans the room very carefully. She will put everything away and put it back in place, and help fold clothes. There is only one chair in the 4-person room, it would be better if there were one or two more chairs. After 10pm, you need to swipe your room card to enter the hotel, which is quite safe.

AAngeloooWe stayed as a couple in a Japanese-style quad room, and it was really spacious! However, I felt that neither the bedding nor the floor was particularly clean, or maybe they just haven't updated things in a while. The hotel is located in the busiest part of Shinsaibashi, right across from Don Quijote. The area gets a bit chaotic at night though, with a lot of people trying to drum up business – it's one of the few really dirty streets I've seen in Japan. Still, if you're on a budget, the value for money is decent.

GGuest UserThe room is tiny, just right for one person; any more and you'd be fighting for space. My 28-inch suitcase couldn't stay open, but there was room to store it when closed. There's hardly any staff around, which actually made for a very relaxed stay. The location is decent; if you're up for a walk, you can get to Shinsaibashi in less than half an hour. The closest subway station is about 500 meters away, a straight shot. There's a FamilyMart right next door, which is super convenient. The soundproofing isn't great, but the hot water in the bathroom was perfect for a bath.

RRowell SantiagoI recently stayed at Hotel Cargo Shinsaibashi during my trip to Osaka, and I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and quality packed into this compact, capsule-style accommodation. One of the biggest highlights of my stay was the toilet and bathroom area — exceptionally clean, modern, and cozy. Despite being a shared facility, everything was spotless and well-maintained at all times. The design was sleek, and the space felt more like a boutique hotel than a budget capsule. The toilets are equipped with Japan’s signature high-tech bidet functions, and the overall cleanliness really exceeded my expectations. Even the subtle lighting and warm wood tones added to the relaxing feel every time I used the bathroom. The rest of the hotel was equally impressive. The capsules were comfortable, quiet, and felt more private than I expected. The lounge area was a nice place to relax or do a bit of planning for the day. Plus, the location is perfect — just a short walk from Shinsaibashi shopping street and a quick train ride to most Osaka hotspots. If you’re looking for a well-designed, clean, and cozy place to stay in Osaka, I highly recommend Hotel Cargo Shinsaibashi. Especially if you value hygiene and comfort in shared facilities, this hotel delivers above and beyond.
