Bromo Volcano, the place on earth that most resembles the moon, with a guide attached
What kind of experience is it to fulfill the dream of reaching the scenery seen in science magazines as a child?
This is the cover of Lonely Planet, from where you can see Bromo (p6), Semeru, Batok (p2) three volcanoes. East Java Tengger Volcano Group, the volcanic cone is shrouded in light clouds and thick smoke, the epic desolation brings you close to the end of the world. We set off from Bali, flew to Surabaya in the afternoon, and arrived at the small town of Pangyue Bromo Volcano after about 5 hours by car.
Early morning: Depart for the best viewing point (Figure 1), set off at four in the morning, the guide took us a shortcut - a small road stepped out of the mountain, except for a bit steep, there are no shortcomings, about 5 minutes can reach the top of the mountain, the overall climbing difficulty is low, can be said to be suitable for all ages. There are quite a few homestays at the starting point of climbing, you can order a cup of hot tea, only 5rmb~
Climbing difficulty: ⭐
Morning: Take a Jeep to the foot of Bromo Volcano, you can directly climb to the edge of the volcano, overlooking the heart of the earth's heart roaring and thick smoke (p4). The overall climb takes about half an hour, the difficulty is moderate, need to have some physical strength, the first part of the road is the gully wild road out of the magma flow, the latter part of the climb has artificially repaired stairs. When I heard the roar of volcanic activity at the moment of reaching the top, tears almost burst out, as if I had finally reached the ideal end - the place I had been longing for in my childhood.
Climbing difficulty: ⭐⭐⭐
Small tips:
1⃣ Travel. If you are not very good at free travel guides, it is recommended to charter a car, which can save a lot of worry. Our bromo+ijen three days and two nights per capita 1000+, including driver + guide + accommodation + breakfast + return to Bali hotel.
2⃣ Dress. Bromo town is at a higher altitude, more than 2700 meters, it is colder in the early morning, it is recommended to wear a stormtrooper, if you are afraid of cold, you can add a down liner. You can wear a short sleeve inside, it is hotter to climb the volcano after the sun comes out. And remember to wear non-slip shoes.
3⃣ Flashlight/headlamp. It's pitch black in the early morning, there are no lights on the road, it's recommended to prepare a flashlight or headlamp, (mobile phone light can also be used, but it consumes power...).
4⃣ Drone + camera. If you want to take pictures, it's best to use a tripod to occupy a position
.
Very good experience, received us is bobby, the people are very nice, bromo volcano took us to a good viewing position, and it is several net red spots, the filming rate is very high. He is also very good at taking photos! The whole trip experience is very good. From pick-up to drop-off, I accompanied us all day ~ If there is a small partner who wants to come to bromo, it is very recommended to find bobby to take you to play ~ and get a very good experience!
Unbelievable view of the volcanoes. Just a short 5 mins hike, tonnes of people fighting for a place to view the sunrise, while I get this perfect view..
Visiting Mount Bromo I would classify as adventure travel from waking up before the crack of dawn, travelling in pitch dark in a bumpy jeep not knowing where you're headed, braving the cold for sunrise and then crossing the dessert sea of sand to summit the crater rim is truly an adventure one deserves in Indonesia.
Not bad guide is not bad
Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is the only conservation area in Indonesia which has a 10 km wide sea of sand called Tengger, where four new volcanoes are located. The subsidiary volcanoes are Mount Batok (2,470 m), Mount Kursi (2,581 m), Mount Watangan (2,661 m), and Mount Widodaren (2,650 m). However, of the row of mountains, only Mount Bromo is the only one that is still active. The temperature at the peak of Mount Bromo ranges from 5-18 degrees Celsius. If Pesona Friends head towards the South of the Park, you will find steep plains split by valleys and dotted with beautiful lakes that reach the foot of Mount Semeru.
