Laoye Mountain is a mountain peak in Ma'an Mountain, located on the banks of the Beichuan River on the east side of Qiaotou Town, Datong County, Xining. It is a major mountain peak in the middle of Datong, covering an area of about 2.5 square kilometers. Because the original Taiyuan Palace (that is, Guandi Temple) on the top of the mountain, commonly known as "Laoye Mountain", also known as "Yuanshuo Mountain" and "Beiwudang". It is the most majestic and beautiful mountain peak near Xining. Its mountain trend is northwest-southeast, with a wide difference in height. The main peak is 2928 meters above sea level and the relative height is 486.5 meters.
