Driving southwest from Chibi city, the navigation points to "Cha'anling Town Yangloudong tea farm Shaziling branch" — this hilly area at the junction of Cha'anling, Xindian, and Zhaoliqiao towns is the source of the Eurasian Tea Road. As soon as the car turns onto the scenic avenue, your view is taken over by an unbroken expanse of emerald tea fields, and rising from that sea of tea are a cluster of stacked block buildings in red, blue, yellow, and green. A giant yellow rubber duck lies quietly in the pond by the gate, creating a playful contrast with the distant Russian spires. That initial sense of dissonance — as if a game screen had suddenly popped up in the tea garden — is breathtaking.
Wanmu tea garden · Tetris town is the world's first tea-culture park with a Russian-style Tetris theme, with a total investment of CNY 540,000,000, a planned area of 4,600 mu, and 31,000 mu of tea gardens deeply integrated with Tetris game elements.
Morning: dive into the tea sea and try being a tea picker
The park's electric shuttle winds along a colorful cycling path. This roughly 12,000 m ecological trail runs deep into the tea fields, with amateur and pro lanes, and is hailed as "the most ecological cycling park in central China" — if you love cycling, this alone is worth the ticket.
Enter the tea terraces in the early mist and learn the "one bud, one leaf" picking technique from the tea girls. Your fingertips will brush tender tea tips, with the scent of grass and the sweetness of dew. Then visit the tea workshop to watch a master demonstrate the piling fermentation for green brick tea: leaves are heaped into small mounds on bamboo mats, covered with damp cloths, and left for microbes to slowly transform them. When the pressed tea bricks are unmolded, the raised "chuan" character pattern is the fingerprint of Yangloudong's 300-year brick tea legend.
Noon: have a matryoshka tea in "Katyusha"
Lunch is served at the tea culture restaurant, or you can head to the Russian-style commercial street for St. Petersburg bakery, a Western restaurant, or a barbecue house — soft bread, strong coffee, and sizzling grilled meat deliver authentic Russian flavors.
After lunch, be sure to visit the Katyusha reception lounge. Industrial shipping containers meet Russian culture here, and the wall graffiti is inspired by the lyrics of "Katyusha." Staff have performed traditional brewing of green brick tea: amber tea is poured into matryoshka-shaped teacups, where the weight of history and modern art mingle in the aroma. For a moment you may feel a delightful dislocation of time and space.
Afternoon: wander through the "game scenes"
The town's buildings are the biggest exhibits — the Tetris hotel is a stack of four-colored blocks, like a 3D puzzle leaping out of a Game Boy screen. Stroll along the Tea Creek through flower seas of four seasons, and every few hundred meters you'll find tea-culture installations: a statue of Lu Yu, reliefs of Russian merchants picking tea, and a replica steam locomotive.
Families with children can head straight to the amusement area: roller coaster, speed racers, carousel, pendulum ride, sightseeing train, and water park are all available. If you want a different pace, options include the Jor Air Experience Park, youth soccer base, and fishing center.
Spring-only highlights: mid–late March, the cherry trees in the tea garden bloom in profusion, with a peak bloom of about 15 days; late April and mid November, the Tea Creek flower seas burst into cosmos blooms. In spring 2026, visitors posed under cherry trees with clear umbrellas as petals trembled and fell like snow, and their videos quickly went viral.
Evening to night: stars, tents, and bonfires
As the sun moves west, the tea sea takes on a golden edge. The stargazing campground is the town's most romantic offering — pitch a tent and gaze up at the Milky Way in the heart of the vast tea fields. The park also organizes occasional bonfire nights, outdoor movies under the stars, barbecues, and tea-hill sunset music tents.
If you want more comfort, Yue Ming Hotel is tucked among the tea fields, its colorful exterior echoing the block theme and offering window views over bamboo and tea. Waking naturally to morning light among the tea and bamboo is the perfect way to press pause on a busy life.
Practical information
Ticket price: Dahe Ticketing lists prices starting at CNY 30, with concessions for seniors, children, students, and military personnel; in spring 2026 some visitors reported free admission, and the park was also free to all visitors during National Day 2025. We recommend checking the daily price on Ctrip or the park's official account before you go — the Ctrip page lists the address as "Cha'anling Town Yangloudong tea farm Shaziling branch" and the opening hours as 8:30 AM–5:30 PM.
Transport: public transport near the park is inconvenient, so self-driving is strongly recommended. It's about a 2-hour drive from Wuhan.
Dining: besides the park's Russian restaurant and tea café, "Chayuan Kitchen," about a 10-minute drive away, offers a wide spring menu and is a local favorite for a nearby option.
Best times to visit:
· March: tea-picking season + cherry blossom peak, the tea sea is at its most beautiful
· Late April / mid November: Tea Creek flower seas of cosmos
· Summer: escape the heat + water park + stargazing camping
· Autumn and winter: green brick tea-making experiences + hot spring facilities
