🔥Must-visit highlights
🌾100,000 mu of alpine meadows (the core soul)
At the foot of the mountain, there are dense forests, but above 1,600m, the view opens up to endless alpine meadows with no trees blocking the 360° panoramic view.
When the wind blows, waves of grass roll across the landscape. Walking along the ridge feels like stepping on the spine of the earth. Essential route: Diaomazhuang → Guanyindang → Golden Summit.
⛰️Golden Summit (Baihe Peak, elevation 1,918.3m)
The highest peak of Wugong Mountain, the prime spot for watching the sunrise and sea of clouds.
At dawn, the sea of clouds spreads out like a vast white ocean beneath your feet. As the sun rises above the clouds, golden light covers the entire meadow, creating a stunning spectacle. The summit features the Baihe Temple and an iconic stone monument.
🧗Despair Slope
The name sounds intimidating, but it's a legendary spot for great photos.
Rolling grassy slopes that seem to go on forever. The undulating ridge lines combined with the meadows and sea of clouds make every shot a masterpiece.
🌁Starry Sky Plank Road & Glass Plank Road
Built on cliffs, it features the highest glass plank road in the country. With a deep abyss and churning sea of clouds beneath your feet, those with a fear of heights should be cautious, while the brave can enjoy breathtaking views.
🌅Golden Summit sunrise & starry sky
The sunrise and starry sky are the two main attractions of Wugong Mountain.
Wait for the sunrise over the sea of clouds in the morning; at night, there is very little light pollution at the summit, and if the weather is good, you can see the Milky Way with the naked eye, making it an excellent stargazing spot in East China.
☁️Sea of clouds
When it clears up after rain, clouds churn in the valleys, and the meadow peaks look like islands floating in a sea of clouds. Walking on the plank road feels like riding the clouds.

💡Practical travel tips
▪️Large temperature difference: The summit is 10–15°C cooler than the foot of the mountain. Even in summer, bring a windbreaker; in autumn, a light down jacket is recommended.
▪️Attire: Wear non-slip athletic shoes, as there are many steps and it gets slippery after rain; the ridge is exposed, so sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are essential.
▪️Accommodation: Summit inns and tents are in high demand during peak season, so book in advance; it is windy and damp in tents at night, so prepare to stay warm.
▪️Supplies: Prices at the summit are higher, so bring your own water and snacks; it is more cost-effective to buy hiking poles at the foot of the mountain to protect your knees.
▪️Safety: Stick to established scenic trails and do not trust unofficial paths to avoid tickets; do not climb to the summit during thunderstorms or high winds; take all trash down the mountain to protect the alpine meadow ecosystem.
▪️The cable car has operating hours, so pay attention to the last departure time to avoid having to hike down
