Chinese tourists might be the most studious travelers in the world, and the group most interested in history. No matter which country you visit, you're sure to see Chinese tourists in its museums. This time in Belgrade, there are quite a few museums—just looking at history museums, there's the National Museum, the Museum of Yugoslavia (Tito Museum), and the Historical Museum of Serbia. The Museum of Yugoslavia mainly covers Yugoslav history, the Historical Museum of Serbia focuses on national history, and the most comprehensive one is the National Museum. When I visited, there was a special exhibition from the Hebei Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, but since I was already here, I didn't go out of my way to see it. The National Museum has three floors. The first floor is the history section. It features everything from Neolithic hunting and fishing civilization relics along the Danube to artifacts from the Roman provincial period, and then on to the Byzantine period. The most distinctive items are the Stone Age pottery and Bronze Age implements. They are very different from what I've seen in East Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. For example, there are cartoonish stone figures (very different from the steppe stone statues of the Asian grasslands), clear signs of fertility worship, pottery goddesses with large breasts and buttocks, and complete sets of gold and silver ware. But the most spectacular artifacts are definitely from the Roman period. From bronze armor to exquisite pottery, various Roman stone columns, and sculptures, they are very artistic and make up the bulk of the collection. The Byzantine period section mainly consists of religious content, such as fragments removed from monasteries like Studenica, Gračanica, and Mileševa, as well as fresco fragments. The most impressive part of the National Museum of Serbia is actually the art collection on the second and third floors. The second floor mainly features paintings by local artists, while the third floor has many oil paintings by famous European masters: original works by Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Rembrandt, Botticelli, Bosch, Dürer, and Kandinsky. The quality of the collection is very strong for the Balkans. [Local Artists] When it comes to the premier Serbian historical painter, it has to be Paja Jovanović. He represents the pinnacle of the 19th-century Serbian academic school and excelled at grand historical oil paintings. The museum displays three of his classic works: "The Coronation of Emperor Dušan" (Image 1), "The Migration of the Serbs," and "The Proclamation of Dušan's Law Codex." The "Proclamation of Dušan's Law Codex" in particular is enlarged and placed right at the top of the stairs (Image 2; I don't think it's the original), so visitors see it as soon as they come up. It is said that this painting won a gold medal at the 1900 Paris World's Fair and was widely circulated in Europe before World War I. The museum's display intent is clear: to showcase national pride. Additionally, there is Uroš Predić, an academic master on par with Paja Jovanović, with works like "The Kosovo Maiden" and "The Traitor." Surprisingly, there is also a female painter—Nadežda Petrović—whose works clearly have a feminine style. [European Masters] The museum also has the best oil painting collection in the Balkans. It is said that the core paintings come from the private collection of Erich Šlomović. This collection, including works by Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Mondrian, used to be his. After searching for a long time, I mainly saw: Monet: "Rouen Cathedral, Red Sunlight" Van Gogh: "Peasant Woman" Gauguin: "Tahitian Women" A Picasso portrait, a Fauvist work by Matisse Mondrian: "Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow" There are also Impressionist works by Degas, Pissarro, Renoir, Bonnard, and others. TIPS: You can take photos with a camera in the museum, but video recording is not allowed. Backpacks and similar items must be stored in the locker area on the first floor. Following standard practice, the museum is closed on Mondays.

😭 Why does no one on my social media feed go to France? Is it the difficult visa process, expensive flights and hotels, or the rumors about theft and pickpockets? Honestly, France is the kind of place you hesitate to visit, but once you're there, you'll be obsessed! I've put together an honest guide, including tips to avoid pitfalls and budget info. You'll be inspired after reading this. 🇫🇷 Paris (capital of France): This must be your first stop! The Eiffel Tower sparkles on the hour at night—it's indescribably romantic. Book your Louvre tickets in advance on the official website and use the inverted pyramid entrance to skip the long lines. A Seine River cruise at sunset is absolutely stunning. The alleys of Montmartre are filled with art shops and cafes. For the best photo spot, try the steps at Trocadéro. Wear a solid-colored dress and a straw hat, and you'll get great shots effortlessly. 💜 Provence (southern France): You must see the lavender in summer! The purple ocean in Valensole is as rich as an oil painting. I recommend renting a car or hiring a driver. Go in the early morning or evening to avoid crowds and get better photos. Wear a white dress with a straw hat, stand on the path in the middle of the flower fields, and you can take postcard-worthy photos even with your phone. There are also sunflower fields and ancient monasteries nearby that you can visit at the same time. 🌊 Nice (French Riviera): The color of southern France is a vibrant jelly blue! From Castle Hill, you can overlook the Bay of Angels. Soaking up the sun while looking at the sea makes time slow down. The colorful houses in the Old Town are like a fairy tale, and shopping for handmade soap at the markets brings so much joy. You can swim in the sea in summer, and even in winter, you can wear a jacket and enjoy the sun. You must try the seafood paella and ice cream. 🏰 Mont Saint-Michel (Normandy, France): A beautiful, isolated castle on a tidal island. When the tide comes in at dusk, the whole island turns into a fortress at sea—it gives you goosebumps. I recommend staying for one night to see the night view and the low tide in the morning; the world is as quiet as a movie scene. Wear non-slip shoes and bring a jacket, as it gets windy. 🗺️ Suggested itinerary: 3 days in Paris, take the high-speed train south for 2 days in Provence, 2 days in Nice, then fly back to Paris and stop by Mont Saint-Michel for 1 day. France's high-speed rail network is very well-developed; the earlier you book your tickets, the cheaper they are. 🎒 Essentials: Make sure your Schengen visa documents are complete (bank statements, flight and hotel bookings), bring a Visa card and a small amount of cash. For a SIM card, I recommend buying an eSIM. Public safety isn't as scary as the rumors say, but don't wear a backpack on the Paris Metro, and you must book tickets for popular attractions in advance! 💰 Budget reference: Round-trip flights are usually CNY 6,000+, and double that in peak season. Accommodation/homestays are CNY 400–1,000 per night, meals are CNY 100–300 per person, and tickets are CNY 100–300. The total budget for 10 days is CNY 15,000–30,000. But for these views, it's worth it! 📅 Best time to visit: May–June and September–October, when there are fewer crowds and the weather is nice. July–August is peak season, but the lavender is at its deepest purple. It depends on whether you want to photograph flowers or visit museums. 📸 Outfit tips: Vintage French-style dress + straw hat + small square bag. Choose solid white or polka dots. The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre are perfect for a French style. Wear white in the flower fields, and a bright-colored bikini with a shirt over it at the beach. The best times for photos are early morning and dusk; avoid the harsh midday sun. ✈️ France is indeed expensive and a bit of a hassle, but the moment you stand in front of Mont Saint-Michel, all the queuing and visa paperwork becomes worth it. Save this post, and when you're ready, just go!

Paris is more than grand boulevards and postcard views. It’s a city where world-famous landmarks, extraordinary art, elegant neighbourhoods and everyday street life come together effortlessly. For a first visit, these six places capture the magic, history and unmistakable character of the French capital. ✨ 🏗️ 1. Eiffel Tower No first visit to Paris feels complete without seeing its most recognisable landmark. Whether you admire it from the gardens of the Trocadéro or watch it sparkle after dark, the experience never quite loses its impact. For the full experience, head up for sweeping views across the rooftops. 🎟️ Book tickets in advance, especially if you want to reach the summit. Eiffel Tower official website 🖼️ 2. Louvre Museum Even if you’re not usually a museum person, the Louvre deserves a place on your list. Behind its iconic glass pyramid lies an extraordinary collection spanning thousands of years, from the Mona Lisa to ancient Egyptian treasures. The building itself is part of the attraction. With so much to explore, choose a few highlights beforehand rather than trying to see everything in one visit. ⛪ 3. Notre-Dame Cathedral Standing on the Île de la Cité, Notre-Dame is one of Paris’s most extraordinary architectural landmarks. Its Gothic façade, intricate sculptures and soaring interior tell centuries of stories. Following its devastating 2019 fire, the restored cathedral reopened in December 2024. Entry is free, and reserving a time slot online can help you avoid queues. Paris Je t'aime - Office de Tourisme 🎨 4. Montmartre & Sacré-Cœur For a different side of Paris, explore Montmartre, a hilltop neighbourhood of winding streets, artists’ studios and charming squares. Place du Tertre captures its artistic spirit, while the white-domed Sacré-Cœur Basilica offers magnificent views over the city. Come for the atmosphere as much as the sights. This is Paris at its most romantic, especially when you wander beyond the busiest streets. 🏛️ 5. Arc de Triomphe Standing proudly at the centre of the Étoile roundabout, this monumental arch is a powerful symbol of French history. Its scale is impressive from street level, but the real highlight is the panoramic view from the rooftop terrace. From here, the avenues radiate across Paris in a spectacular star-shaped pattern. It’s one of the best places to appreciate the city’s grand urban design. 🌈 6. Sainte-Chapelle Hidden within the historic heart of Paris, Sainte-Chapelle is a jewel of Gothic architecture. Its towering stained-glass windows transform the chapel into a breathtaking display of colour when sunlight streams through. It’s smaller than the city’s major monuments, but the visual impact is unforgettable. Check ticket availability before visiting, as entry is ticketed. 🔥 THE PARIS SIX 🏗️ Eiffel Tower — The ultimate Paris skyline 🖼️ Louvre — World-class art and culture ⛪ Notre-Dame — Gothic grandeur reborn 🎨 Montmartre — Artistic Parisian charm 🏛️ Arc de T

We recommend these two spots: · Méandres: Navigate to "Méandres" and enter through the pasture fence near Place du Barrage. Here, you can capture the winding river and the castle in the same frame. The atmosphere is best at sunset. · Causeway to the island: On the boardwalk connecting to the parking lot, it's perfect for using a telephoto lens to capture the panoramic view of the mountain and its reflection in the water. The lighting is best for photos in the early morning or evening. 🚗 How to get there? From Paris, the "train + bus" option is highly recommended: · Train: Take the TGV from Paris Montparnasse station to Rennes, about 1.5–2 hours. · Bus: At the bus terminal next to Rennes train station, transfer to the Keolis Armor direct bus, about 1 hour and 10 minutes. · Upon arrival: All vehicles park at the main parking lot. Transfer to the free shuttle bus (Le Passeur) for about 10 minutes to reach the island. 💡 Practical tips · Tides: If you want to photograph the "island in the sea," be sure to check the tide table in advance. The mountain is only completely surrounded by water during high tide. · Attire: There are many slopes and stone steps on the island, so non-slip, comfortable shoes are more important than anything else. · Time: If your schedule allows, staying overnight lets you experience the sunset, night view, and early morning all in one trip, doubling your chances of getting great shots.

It's truly a magical place, with incredibly changeable weather; one minute it's raging winds, and the next it's sunny and warm. Many people take a day trip, but I think staying overnight is better, so you can see Mont Saint-Michel in the early morning when it's less crowded.
Jess Chuo[Honfleur] A friend who went to school in Normandy recommended this place to me, and I found that it is really good. The season for traveling is very important. For a small town to have an atmosphere, there must be people outside. Therefore, winter is more suitable for staying at home. Of course Now, it’s suitable for southerners to stay in northerners’ homes.
噼里啪啦If you want to feel small and insignificant, Milford Sound is the place for you. As you drive halfway along the Milford Road, these mountain giants tower over you and everywhere you go, you’ll see something spectacular. If you’re really lucky and get to go there, you must also take a cruise. Rain, hail, or shine, this place will take your breath away.
M32***23This was my first time in France, and the cityscape was unreal! It made me think how amazing Europe is!!
ゆあんまん[Rouen] The old town is a good place. It hasn’t rained yet, the weather is not too cold, there are still people on the street, and it’s not Sunday yet, and the food is delicious. European travel reminder: all Sundays, no matter where you are It is a dead city. When arranging your itinerary, it is recommended to rest in the hotel all day on Sundays.

噼里啪啦Finally, I arrived at the private garden of Monet, the Impressionist master of Giverny. It was so beautiful, it felt like stepping into one of his paintings 🪷. The familiar water lilies, and the Japanese Bridge I had previously copied, were right before my eyes. I couldn't help but sigh, unable to distinguish between reality and the dreamscape in Monet's paintings~
