GGuest User: The James Hotel is located in the center of Rotterdam, right next to the famous Lijnbaan. There are many facilities around the hotel, which was the deciding factor for me to choose this hotel. I had a room with a King size bed, but due to the room's layout, it was very cramped to move around in. In fact, I had all the facilities I actually needed, but there were a few things that were a bit disappointing. Despite staying on the 13th floor, I unfortunately didn't have a city view but looked out onto an adjacent building across from my window. Watching TV had to be done from the bed because it couldn't be rotated towards the table with a stool. It's not ideal to watch TV from bed and eat at the same time. Spills were sometimes the result. Given my advanced age, a proper chair with a backrest would have been more pleasant than sitting on a stool. I stayed for 4 nights and accepted the minor drawbacks. Normally, I also book breakfast at the hotel, which wasn't possible at The James. Although there was a space to create this facility, you had to buy your own food (packaged) from an adjacent kiosk in this area and then take a seat at a table. The packaged food was even quite expensive, so I decided not to make use of any food in this hotel.

PPaolo italy: I stayed for 6 nights and loved it so much I had to extend my stay. As I mentioned in my previous review, this place is a wonderful find. I read that this format also exists in other European locations, and I'll definitely look for them on my next trip. Very high standards.

GGuest User: This hotel is conveniently located just 550 meters straight ahead on your left when you exit Rotterdam Central Station (as shown in image 1). There's some road construction outside the entrance, but the main entrance is clearly marked with a circle in image 2. The reception lobby is upstairs. Check-in started 10 minutes early, and there were quite a few guests already, so we had to queue. The room was clean, and the Western-style breakfast was decent. The location made getting around very easy. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. I'd definitely consider staying here again or recommending it to friends. Thank you for your hard work! Thanks!

GGuest User: The location of the hotel is excellent. Many popular attractions are within walking distance, which made it very convenient for sightseeing. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The only inconvenience was the bathroom. There were no hooks or shelves, so there was nowhere to hang or place towels, hand towels, or small personal items. Adding a few hooks and shelves would make the bathroom much more practical.r Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.

TTimosha: The hotel located at 5 min walk from the metro station. There are attraction and restaurants nearby. The room and tidy and neat . Enough spaces for 3 luggage. Its a cashless hotel. Make sure you bring a card. Spacoius lobby and boardgame are free to play. However , the toilet is smelly. The ventilation is not good inside the toilet

TTina25: Overall, a pretty good experience! I arrived in Rotterdam around 11 AM and tried to check in, but was told the room wasn't ready yet. So I just dropped off my luggage and went out to explore. When I returned to the hotel around 6 PM to check in, the front desk informed me that all the standard rooms were taken. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a river-view room, directly facing the Erasmus Bridge! The room was also larger than the standard rooms I'd stayed in at other hotels in the same chain (perhaps due to my Hilton Honors membership, or maybe because a tour group had booked all the standard rooms). The hotel is conveniently located with a metro station right outside that goes directly to The Hague, and a tram that takes you to Rotterdam Central Station. The only minor drawback is that the hotel is next to a main road, so there can be some noise from motorcycles. If that bothers you, I'd recommend requesting a room facing the river.

GGuest User: The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from Chinatown, and the subway station is right nearby, making getting around incredibly convenient. There are plenty of dining options in the area, and the hotel itself is clean and tidy with air conditioning. The breakfast selection is also quite generous.

MMarta S: Great hotel and room with everything as expected. I would have appreciated more on site dinner options during dinner time hours, and it would have been nice to have access to the pool (closed down for maintenance missy of the day). The steam room and sauna with showers was my favorite feature. Very comfy room too...I appreciated it.

If you know, you know! In the Netherlands, I prefer Leiden, a small city tucked away by the canals, over the bustling streets of Amsterdam 🏘️ With summer arriving overnight, Leiden's red-brick houses, gentle canals, and windmills turning in the breeze create the most soothing European summer I could imagine 🌞 If you're planning a short trip to the Netherlands, be sure to set aside a day for Leiden and enjoy a leisurely city walk~ 🚆Getting here is super easy! Take a train from Amsterdam or Rotterdam directly to Leiden Central station, and you'll step right into the old town as soon as you exit~ The city is compact, so you can explore all the main spots on foot. No need to rush—it's all about that relaxed vibe 💫 📍First stop: Molenmuseum De Valk. As an iconic Leiden landmark, this rustic stone windmill stands quietly amidst the streets. Below it lies a vast, lush green lawn where locals sit and chat in small groups, with bicycles parked casually along the side 🚲 Take a slow stroll around the windmill, listen to the breeze rustling through the blades, and enjoy the sounds of nature~ No need to rush inside; just find a spot on the lawn to soak up the sun and watch the seagulls glide overhead. This moment of leisure is a romance unique to the Netherlands 💕 📍Continue your stroll through the old town to Van der Werffpark. On a sunny day, the park is lush and green, with locals lounging on the expansive lawns to soak up the sun ☀️ Sunlight hits the grass, creating a soft, fuzzy glow. The canal winds through the park, its waters flowing quietly as tour boats drift slowly by ⛵ With flowers in full bloom along the banks and people drinking and chatting under the trees, time seems to slow down here~ [Victory][Victory][Victory] 📍A few minutes' walk brings you to Burcht van Leiden. It only takes five minutes to reach the top, where you can overlook the entire old town from above 🏰 Rows of red-roofed houses spread out, punctuated by Gothic church spires, while winding canals weave between the buildings—the entire picture of Leiden is laid out before you! The old town's streets are full of hidden surprises: window views framing red-brick churches and colorful houses lining the canals. Every corner is perfect for a photo 📸 When you're tired of walking, grab a seat at an open-air cafe by the canal ☕ Watch the boats glide across the water and listen to the laughter drifting from afar~ As evening falls, the sunset bathes the old town in a warm, golden glow, and the outdoor tables fill with diners as the evening breeze carries the scent of greenery 🌇 Leiden isn't crowded with tourists; it's full of vibrant local life~ Take a boat tour along the canals, stroll by the waterfront, watch the windmills turn, or just daydream on the lawn 🍃 It's rare to find a summer like this. In Leiden, you can truly live life like an oil painting 🎨

Netherlands, a country where “fairy tales” and “freedom” are written in the wind 🌷 ✨ These moments make you lose track of time · Amsterdam canal belt: Take a glass-roofed boat through the 17th-century ring canals. Narrow gabled old houses line both sides. When the locks rise, it feels like floating inside a moving painting 🛶 · Giethoorn: The Venice of the Netherlands! No roads, just boats or walking. Thatched cottages reflect on mirror-like water, hydrangeas bloom in spring and summer, so peaceful it feels like a hidden paradise 🌿 · Van Gogh Museum: Immerse yourself in the original Sunflowers and Almond Blossoms! The museum displays Van Gogh’s work chronologically, letting you feel his passionate and struggling soul through his brushstrokes 🎨 · Kinderdijk windmills: 19 windmills standing in a row, an iconic Dutch scene. Cycle through them, watch the blades turn, and feel the wind through the reeds—majestic 🌬️ 🗺️ 4 days 3 nights, classic itinerary · Day 1: Amsterdam, spend half a day exploring the canal belt and Nine Streets. In the afternoon, visit the Van Gogh Museum (book tickets in advance). · Day 2: Morning train to Rotterdam (1 hour) to see the cube houses. Afternoon at Kinderdijk (take the water bus from Rotterdam). · Day 3: Bus from Amsterdam Central Station to Giethoorn (about 2 hours), rent a small boat and drift all day. Evening stroll through Amsterdam’s Red Light District to soak in the atmosphere. · Day 4: Morning visit to the Rijksmuseum to see The Night Watch. Afternoon leisurely walk through the flower market and buy tulip bulbs as souvenirs. 🥢 The simple flavors of the Netherlands · Stroopwafels: Caramel filling, placed on the cup rim to melt from hot coffee steam, a Dutch afternoon tea staple. · Herring: Eaten raw! Topped with chopped onions, hold by the tail and swallow in one bite (no exaggeration), very fresh and sweet. · Cheese: Gouda or Edam, huge wheels at the market with samples to try. Buy small packages to take home 🧀 The beauty of the Netherlands is the sunset by the canals, the sound of wind under the windmills, and the timeless paintings in the museums. It won’t disappoint you, only make you want to go again.

Windmills turn with time, tulips bloom into seas of color—this is the Netherlands, a picturesque romantic destination! ✨ Amsterdam Canals: Navigate through the intricate network of canals, with European architecture reflecting in the water and twinkling lights at night, as if you've stepped into a fairytale world. 🌷 Keukenhof Gardens: The world's largest tulip park, with millions of fresh flowers forming rainbow-colored carpets. Visit in spring, and every step you take is immersed in romance! 🎡 Rotterdam Cube Houses: Surreal cubic homes that look like enchanted building blocks, where modern architecture meets imagination. 🍃 Giethoorn: No roads, only winding waterways and thatched-roof cottages. Take a small boat and drift into the peaceful atmosphere of the "Venice of the Netherlands." 🧀 Zaanse Schans: Traditional wooden shoe workshops, spinning windmills, and lush green pastures perfectly showcase Dutch heritage! 🎨 Van Gogh Museum: An immersive artistic pilgrimage The original "Sunflowers" and "Starry Night" are within reach! Four floors of exhibits reveal the genius painter's madness and solitude. Don't forget to capture stunning light and shadow photos in the sunflower mirror room. 🌻🖼️ Whether cycling through flower fields or strolling along canals, every frame of the Netherlands is as beautiful as a postcard! 📸 Are you ready to visit?

🌍 Kinderdijk Day Trip Guide: Unlocking the Healing Scenery of a World Heritage Site 🚢 Transportation Tips The most convenient way to get there is from Rotterdam! We recommend taking the "Water Bus 21" directly to the Kinderdijk pier. In 30 minutes, you can travel through the city and nature, and see Rotterdam's landmark Erasmus Bridge and Noah's Ark along the way. If you are driving, navigate to Kinderdijk and park near the pier. It is more free to explore by bike or on foot. 🌾 First Impression of the Windmill Group I was shocked by the 19 windmills as soon as I got off the bus! They stand like giants beside the river, with reeds and blue sky complementing each other. This is the largest windmill drainage system in the Netherlands, and it has been protecting the lowlands since 1740. It is recommended to rent a bicycle (approx. EUR 10/2 hrs) and shuttle between the windmill trails. Every shot is a cinematic picture! 📸 Photo Guide ✔️ Early morning or dusk: The light is soft, and the windmill silhouette is super dreamy! ✔️ Climb high and look far: Some windmills can be visited inside (the ticket includes 2 windmills + a museum). Climb the 9-story wooden ladder and overlook the entire dike. ✔️ Canal cruise: Available from April to October. Take a boat for 30 minutes to experience the reflection of the waterway and windmills, as if traveling back to the 18th century. 🐱 The Romance of the Name Legend has it that during a flood in the 15th century, a bassinet drifted here with a kitten, saving a sleeping infant, hence the name "Kinderdijk." Although the story is difficult to verify, standing on the dike, you can really feel the wisdom and romance of the Dutch people fighting against water. 🍪 Shopping Tips There is only a small shop in the scenic area, so it is recommended to bring your own snacks and water! It is recommended to buy a Dutch waffle or cheese sandwich in Rotterdam before departure, and it is super pleasant to eat while riding. ☀️ Precautions ▫️ Sun and wind protection! The Netherlands is windy and sunny, so hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are essential! ▫️ Wear comfortable shoes! Cycling + walking, the cobblestone road is a bit rough. ▫️ Tickets: You only need to buy tickets for boat trips and visits to the Windmill Museum. You don't need to buy tickets for outdoor walks. Anyway, I didn't buy them. The outdoors is enough for great photos. ❤️ Why recommend this place? There are no modern buildings, only the pure Dutch style of windmills, grass, and canals. Slow down, listen to the windmills creaking, and watch the reeds swaying in the wind, instantly healing all anxiety.

A rare member of modern architecture in Europe~🤩 I call it the Mad City!! So ahead of its time. It is also the 'Gateway to Europe'. This time I finally reserved time to check it out. I dare say architecture enthusiasts will definitely love Rotterdam. The whole city feels very modern and magical. This port city has gone crazy with architectural design!!! When you come to Amsterdam, I suggest you leave a day to visit here✅ 🚄Transportation: Both Amsterdam and Rotterdam have several train stations. Use Google Maps to navigate to your destination and follow the route. The journey takes about 1 hour. Buy train tickets from NS and bus tickets from FlixBus. ☑️Five main check-in points in Rotterdam 🔹Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen 🔹Pencil Tower 🔹Cube Houses 🔹Markthal 🔹Witte de Withstraat I personally think the St. Lawrence Church is average. The ticket is 4€, you can skip it. If you are short on time, spend half a day each in Rotterdam and The Hague. The journey between the two is 30 minutes. Or, like me, you can slowly wander around Rotterdam for a day, which is also very enjoyable. FiveFiveFive Cafe is a random pick from Google, a gathering place for cyclists. Pho Hanoi is a cost-effective Vietnamese restaurant with decent taste. Tips: I suggest getting off at Blaak station by train. The main check-in points are right outside. - I am Zoey, wandering the world with you🧳

The Erasmus Bridge in the Netherlands, known as the "Swan Bridge", has a simple and neat appearance, with a slender and tall snow-white body, like an elegant white swan gracefully wandering over the Maas River. The Swan Bridge has a single arm that reaches 139 meters high, and the bridge body is as long as 802 meters, making it the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world at that time. This one-way cable-stayed bridge suspends steel cables on the tower gate, bends to resist tension, and supports the bridge body. The bridge was built in 1990 and completed in 1996. It has 2600 steps, several roads, and is accessible to vehicles, trams, bicycles, pedestrians, and skateboarders, making it an outstanding example of Dutch practicality.

Rotterdam surprised me with how different it felt from other Dutch cities. Instead of postcard-style canals and old buildings, I found a place full of bold architecture, creative spaces and a refreshing everyday atmosphere. I started my morning at Markthal, where the colorful ceiling and food stalls made it difficult to decide what to eat. Just outside, Cube Houses caught my attention with their unusual tilted designs. I wandered around Oude Haven afterwards, enjoying the contrast between historic harbor boats and modern buildings. For a more local experience, I explored Witte de Withstraat, a lively street filled with independent shops, cafés and restaurants. Fenix Food Factory was another favorite, especially for discovering Dutch snacks and local products. Later, I crossed the iconic Erasmus Bridge and enjoyed the waterfront views before heading to Katendrecht, a neighborhood with an interesting mix of old harbor character and trendy restaurants. What I liked most about Rotterdam was its relaxed, creative energy. It’s a city that feels lived in, not just visited. #travellikealocal #rotterdam

Have you ever wondered if there's a way to spend the night on an ocean liner and then calmly set off to explore the city in the morning? The ss Rotterdam isn't sailing anywhere anymore; it’s permanently docked and welcoming guests. 🚢 In 1959, it set off on its maiden voyage to New York. Today, the former Holland America Line flagship operates as a hotel, where you can come aboard for dinner or a tour. As the daughter of a sailor and a ship designer, I was naturally most fascinated by the cabins. ⚓️ On a ship, every square inch must be planned with extreme care, and a porthole changes the feel of a room more than any decor could. The rooms were styled in the spirit of the 1950s—it makes me want to grab a stylish suitcase and a vintage hat, though I usually just go for the one with wheels that actually spin! 🧳👒 I saved this spot for the sake of its maritime interiors and the experience of staying overnight on a real liner. NASAVI TIPS: · Check for portholes: Internal rooms, including family suites, don't have them. · If you want a water view from your cabin, study the photos and descriptions of the specific category, not just the general gallery. · Even without staying overnight, you can book a restaurant or a ship tour—different ways to get to know the liner. · The hotel is located near the Katendrecht district, so factor in travel time to the other points on your itinerary. I love this kind of maritime life: had dinner, looked at the water, went to sleep. And in the morning, your suitcase is still in Rotterdam! ⚓️ Find more travel gems on my Telegram channel: NASAVI | TRAVEL

What a delightful spot the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is! The museum’s collection is so extensive and diverse that it’s wise to decide in advance which section you want to visit. Will it be Asian art, the small yet intriguing Cobra collection, or perhaps the silver collection? Well, this time the choice was easy to make, as the Rijksmuseum is hosting a comprehensive exhibition on the artist Willem de Kooning (1904-1997), running until January 17, 2027. De Kooning, born in Rotterdam, settled at a young age in the U.S. While highly regarded in the Netherlands, he is considered one of the greats in the U.S. His painting and drawing style is classified as abstract expressionism. The Rijksmuseum features around 120 of his works, including many drawings. It's fascinating to occasionally spot influences from contemporaries in his work, such as Matisse, Miro, and, surprisingly, the British artist Ben Nicholson (1894-1982). A true treasure trove for aficionados of modern visual art!

This windmill group is one of the two largest windmill groups in the Netherlands, but most tourists go to the windmill group near Amsterdam. This windmill group is relatively close to Rotterdam, and guests on Viking cruises are usually taken here for a visit. Viking cruises can dock very close to the attractions, so it is very labor-saving for tourists. Here you can not only take pictures outside the windmill, but also enter the windmill to see how it works.
猫猫在旅行I traveled to a city specifically for a painting. I went to The Hague just to see the masterpiece, "Girl with a Pearl Earring," in person. Compared to large museums, I personally prefer this art gallery; it's small, exquisite, and fulfilling, leaving a deep and unforgettable impression.

_TI***uuOf course it's worth coming here. It's super clean. Whether you're shopping for small things or buying souvenirs to bring back to relatives and friends, you can always buy what you need. Of course, there are also various delicacies, such as cheese, donuts, various chocolates, sausages... Our favorite is fried fish (Bakje kibbeling), which we must buy every time.
205***83It's a town with a long history. It can't see the momentum of imperial use. Besides windmills, the designs are oriental.

This landmark building is also an important part of the local tour. There are many fun things around the tower. [Scenery] The scenery here is very good

小思文The old port of Rotterdam has a long history and was built in the 14th century. There are many historical buildings in the old port, as well as some emerging modern buildings. So the scenery here is also very unique. There is also a maritime museum here, where you can learn about ancient ships and navigation. We went there in the evening, when the nightlife had already begun. There were many bars here and it was very lively at night.
