"The location is absolutely fantastic, less than a 5 minute walk to Paddington station which can get you anywhere in central London within 25 minutes. The hotel itself is on a beautiful square with lots of greenery. The buildings are all houses turned into hotels that are a little rundown but it’s part of the charm. Rooms are relatively clean for the price point and it’s worth upgrading to a slightly larger room as they have high ceilings and a balcony. Definitely worth it for the money if you can get it for less that £75 per night."

The hotel boasts a strategic location, perfect for classic shopping trips and sightseeing. The rooms are larger than average for London, and the services are good. The building itself is quite old but well-maintained and partially modernized. The tea room and Indian restaurant are excellent. The main drawback, typical for hotels of this kind, is the bathroom – while efficient and clean, it's definitely dated and offers limited amenities.

I had a wonderful stay at Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington. The hotel was very clean, and the room was spacious, especially by London standards, making it a comfortable place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The location is excellent, with High Street Kensington Tube Station just a short walk away, making it easy to explore London and reach major attractions. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby. Overall, a great hotel with comfortable accommodations, a convenient location, and good value for money. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting London.

Great hotel in great location. Really pleased with facilities in the room which was super quiet and really clean with exception of carpet, few bits not hoovered but a minor issue for us. However, please ensure you have either a photo driving licence or passport at check in as we encountered quite an unhelpful lady who insisted that despite showing her the Trip emails and my bank cards said she still didn’t know that I was the person in the booking. I generally DO NOT travel for a weekend away to London with my passport (I have an old paper driving licence so not photo ID anyway) she didn’t seem to know what I was talking about when I mentioned this and looked confused! When I asked what I was supposed to do as I’d paid for two nights and had all the bookings just looked at me and repeated that she didn’t know who I was!!! My friend could see I was getting stressed and asked if we could get my husband to email copy of my passport, at which point she ashes if I had another credit/bank card and then proceeded to check us in!!!! Why could she not do this in the first place????? Anyway putting this to one side I would stay again, armed of course with passport!

From the outside, the hotel looks good, but as soon as you're in the hallway, you realize it's a super old hotel. The rooms were scrawled on, extremely small, and had deteriorated over the years – but they were clean, as they were tidied daily. Additionally, there were hardly any power outlets, but the Wi-Fi reception was very good. The staff was very friendly, and the location was super central, making it very easy to get from A to B (the train station is 5 minutes away).

Wilde Aparthotels, London, Aldgate Tower Bridge

We stayed at the Wilde Aparthotel Aldgate Tower Bridge for two nights at the end of August and had a rather underwhelming experience. We expected more from this hotel, judging by its ratings online. As Coldplay was in town (our reason for visiting London), prices were higher than average. The hotel is a five-minute walk from Aldgate East and about eight minutes from Aldgate Station. Liverpool Street Station is technically in walkable distance aswell, though taking the bus there is easier, with a stop right in front of the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend walking to Whitechapel for the Elizabeth Line – the walk felt long, annoying, and unsafe. Also, avoid walking further down the road toward McDonald’s after dark – sketchy atmosphere, and we saw two police scenes within those five mins of walking. Walking to Aldgate or Liverpool Street is safer. The arrival was.. odd. No one greeted us, and we waited in the lobby for several minutes before someone finally helped us at a not-so-clean high table. The staff member seemed demotivated and spoke very quietly, though check-in was quick. Unfortunately, we were charged twice despite prepaying nearly a year earlier through a third party. This was resolved after I spoke with the manager, but I was surprised it was marked as a “user error” on our invoice, and no small gesture like waiving the early check-in fee was offered for the inconvenience. We were given a room on the 9th floor. The corridors are dim, with black walls and stuffy air despite it being just 22 degrees outside. The “triple room” is simply too small for three adults. The storage areas under the twin beds is smart, and there is a small wardrobe with two drawers, but oddly no safe to store your valuables. A table and chair cramped the room unnecessarily and looked cheap compared to the rest. The sofa bed was decent but had a pretty thin mattress and annoying metal railings that can be a little annoying when standing up / lying down; there was also no nightstand, only a photo shelf right above it where you really can’t put anything. The kitchen area becomes very narrow once the sofa bed is pulled out. The fridge and sink were great, but the bins were tiny and filled up after just one day. The bathroom was also cramped, with practically no counter space. No toothbrush cups, Q-tips, or cotton pads were provided – unusual for a 4-star property. The soap dispenser was nearly empty and even fell out of its holder, and none of the dispensers were secured/locked, which isn’t hygienic (most hotels have that nowadays, for a reason!). We didn’t know where to go with dirty towels as there was no designated spot for them and no space. The heated towel holder being *right* next to the toilet is weird and inconvenient. We had the AC running for hours & hours on end, yet it barely managed to cool down the room to an acceptable temp. At least it was quiet enough to keep on at night. The TV had few channels but casting worked very well. Light controls were fine, and the blackout blinds were excellent– also essential, since the windows aren’t tinted from the outside. On the positive side, the room was clean, beds were comfortable, and it was quiet at night despite the hotel being full. We skipped breakfast as there are better options near Liverpool Street Station that we wanted to try out. All in all, our first ever stay at a Wilde property was just okay. The location is central but not particularly the nicest, the staff lacked warmth, and the triple room was way too small for three adults. It should not be sold as a triple for three adults and would be better suited for parents with a small child. I imagine the higher room categories might do a better job of accommodating three adults. We had what we needed; a clean room with good public transport connections. However, we wouldn’t stay here again as there’s better options out there.

The room isn't huge, but it's clean and well-equipped. The staff are friendly, and the location is super convenient for transport. Especially the transport! This hotel is only about 400 meters from the tube station and 100-200 meters from a bus stop. London's tube and bus systems are excellent, getting you to almost all the main attractions easily.

I booked the room for 1 night as I was attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I was very happy with the cost of £73 for the night for a Superior Single room. The staff were friendly & welcoming. My room was on the 4th floor. The lift was very noisy which was a bit of a worry but it worked ok. The room was small with nowhere for me to put my small suitcase. When I first opened my room door I was met with a very noisy portable air con unit. Thankfully the heatwave earlier in the week had eased so I turned off the air con unit. The furnishings & bedding in the room were a little bit tired for a 4* hotel but ok. There were complimentary toiletries, bathroom robe & tea, coffee & a small packet of biscuits. I’d asked for a quiet room if possible & that’s what I got. I had a shower the next morning but it took a while to heat up. Also a non-adjustable monsoon shower head which could be an issue for some. Also part of the shower drain edge was broken. I didn’t pay for a breakfast upon booking as wanted to keep my options open. Both the Trip website & the signs in the hotel stated the cost of the buffet breakfast was £14 but the staff said it was £15. I decided on the breakfast in the end. There was plenty of choice even if the bacon & sausages were a bit dried out but that’s to be expected with a hot buffet breakfast. Caffeine free coffee was also available. I was happy with my short stay at The Rockwell & would definitely book again.

If you're staying here, you'll find the price reasonable, under 10,000 baht per night, especially since it's in Zone 2. Most places further in are over 10,000 baht. The hotel is clean and the service is standard. We requested two connecting suites for our daughters, and they had a sofa that converted into a bed. The furniture might look a bit dated because the hotel is old, but many things are clean and new. I liked the new Nespresso capsule coffee machine with complimentary large capsules. The tea here is also good. The bathroom has a bathtub with good water pressure, and the shampoo and conditioner smell nice. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it's a bit old and the mattress isn't very soft. But overall, it was a comfortable stay.

The room was incredibly small! I couldn't believe how tiny 10 square meters felt. I was genuinely shocked when I opened the door. It was even difficult to open my luggage. The table was pathetically small, and there wasn't even a chair. Storage space was extremely limited. The bathroom was even tinier, comparable to an airplane lavatory. Overall, my stay was very uncomfortable. The only positives were the comfortable bed and the breakfast, which at least offered some variety. After a difficult two nights, I decisively moved to the Hilton across the street, and the experience was significantly better. What baffles me is that this place was even more expensive than the Hilton. On the whole, dining and getting around were very convenient, with various UCL colleges in the vicinity. There's a Nero Cafe right next door, so if you don't want the hotel breakfast, you can grab something there. Heading south down the street, you'll find quite a few Chinese restaurants, which is very handy.

I've lost count of how many times I've stayed here, always drawn back by its great value for money and excellent service. First off, the location isn't central, but there's a subway station right across from the hotel, making public transport super convenient. The hotel also has its own parking lot, so it's a good option if you're driving. It's not far from Wembley, either, so it's a solid choice if you're here for a concert. Plus, there are lots of restaurants across the street, mostly fast food, but there's this one Turkish place that's really good. Honestly, a few times we've booked this hotel just for that restaurant! There's also a cinema nearby. The room facilities show some wear and tear compared to a few years ago, but it's within a reasonable range. There's air conditioning in the room, and you can adjust the temperature yourself. Just note that the hotel doesn't provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers, so remember to bring your own. We didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't comment on the dining. They do have their own restaurant, though. The front desk service is excellent. Staff members who've seen us before even greet us specially – they're very friendly. If you need anything, you can just call the front desk directly, and they're pretty quick to respond. Overall, it's a hotel with great value for money.
