The location is a bit out of the way; it's about a 7-minute walk to Tram Line 2 and 12 minutes to the metro station. Getting to the city center takes over half an hour. The room was very simple and clean, and the air conditioning worked great. The bathroom had a partial wet/dry separation, but water would still splash into the dry area when showering. The shower gel had a unique scent (like a high-end traditional Chinese medicine). The front desk staff were not very friendly. Both check-in and check-out are self-service, and the staff preferred to chat rather than offer assistance. The employee who handled my luggage storage after check-out was very impatient.

They gave us great recommendations on where to go and even lent us an umbrella for the rain. Our room on the 4th floor was very spacious, especially by Amsterdam standards. However, the cleanliness was a major disappointment. The room was poorly cleaned: there was a lot of dust, the closets were dirty, and the coffee machine was so filthy that we didn't even want to use it. My overall impression is not bad, but due to the lack of cleanliness, I would not stay at this hotel again.

The trade-off is that the surrounding area is more of a business/light industrial zone, with limited dining options in the evenings; if you want to explore the canal district, you'll need to commute. The rooms are designed with a modern, practical approach, featuring wooden floors, air conditioning, a desk, an electric kettle/coffee maker, a safe, and complimentary Wi-Fi—all the essentials. The space is considered ”acceptable” by Amsterdam standards. However, it's wise to manage expectations: some guests have reported inconsistencies in cleanliness (hair/stains/old marks), and the bathrooms often have glass partitions with unsealed door gaps, offering limited privacy if you're sharing. Wi-Fi can occasionally be unstable, and the gym equipment isn't exactly new. Breakfast is generally described as basic, with its value for money being a matter of opinion (some channels list it around €17 or as an additional charge). Parking also incurs an extra fee. 1. **Room:** A bit small, but perfectly adequate for one person. It had air conditioning, an electric kettle (which looked like blue and white porcelain), adjustable lighting, and more. The facilities were relatively new and well-maintained, with no hidden spots for dirt. If I indicated I didn't need my room cleaned by hanging the 'green' eco-friendly sign, they wouldn't clean it, and in return, I'd get a soft drink voucher for the bar. I used a voucher once to get a sparkling juice from the 2nd-floor bar. **Problem:** Replenishing essential supplies was inconsistent. The tissue box wasn't refilled when I checked in, with only a few tissues left. I mentioned it in the evening and again the next morning, but it wasn't until I went to the front desk a second time on the next evening that it was finally restocked. The same went for towels; I asked twice, and they still weren't changed a day later. Finally, on the third attempt at the front desk, they were replaced. This only happened when I dealt with Southeast Asian front desk staff; when I spoke to European staff, replacements arrived within 10 minutes. Towels and bathrobes also had to be requested; if you didn't ask, you wouldn't get them. The provided bedding, towels, and bathrobes were all quite old, not bright white, and not starched. 2. **Breakfast:** The food was plentiful, the service warm, and food items were refilled promptly, as were used dishes cleared away quickly. Again, the Southeast Asian staff weren't as enthusiastic and didn't greet me as readily, whereas the European staff were equally pleasant to everyone. The restaurant is on the 17th floor with great views. It's quite large, beautifully decorated, and has two serving stations, which is very convenient. There are also two large outdoor terraces perfect for enjoying the view or dining al fresco. On my check-out day, after breakfast, I bid farewell to the European staff, and they even gave me a special hotel lollipop, saying they hoped I'd visit again. 3. The second floor has a lovely, comfortable lounge area and a bar with a somewhat 'creative/cultural' aesthetic in its decor. 4. In spring, there's a direct bus to Keukenhof from the bus plaza below the hotel. You can buy round-trip tickets online. If you're staying at or near the hotel, you can take the bus directly, saving you a trip to Central Station. 5. **Transportation:** There are several train, metro, and bus options nearby. Given how punctual public transport is in the Netherlands, it's very easy to plan your sightseeing. All stations are within a few minutes' walk. 6. **Supermarket and Restaurants:** There's a Dirk supermarket a few minutes away. Near the hotel, there are various restaurants, including Western options like Italian, and Southeast Asian cuisine.

Hotel Twenty-Three is located in a really great spot. The atmosphere is pleasant, the rooms are clean, and the beds are fine. However, there were also some downsides we experienced. For the second time, we tried to reserve a room with a bathtub (we made a special request), and upon arrival, we were told (just like during our first stay...) that it wasn't possible. This was a disappointment! Unfortunately, we had a lot of noise disturbance (we were on the first floor and could literally hear what people above us were saying), which made it difficult to rest properly. Another area for improvement is the lighting. It was too dark in the bathroom, and there wasn't enough ambient lighting in the room itself.

It's about a 10-minute walk from the nearest station, Zaandam. It's a short train ride to Amsterdam Central, and costs just over 3 euros. Be careful, because this is not Amsterdam, so you can't use the Amsterdam tourist pass. It's a relatively new area, so there are many fast food restaurants and clothing stores. The security seemed good. It's almost a straight line from the station to the hotel, so you won't get lost. However, the hotel entrance is a little difficult to find, as it's between the restaurants. There is no front desk, so you use a machine. At the end, your room number will be displayed, so don't forget to check it! The room is small, but I only had a backpack, so it wasn't a problem. It's modern and very clean. Another plus is that the shower room and toilet are separate. The shower water pressure and hair dryer air pressure are perfect. The bed was a king size bed, so I was able to sleep comfortably. Amenities include hair and body wash, conditioner, hand soap, and body lotion. The room has a kettle, a very thin refrigerator (which barely holds anything), coffee and tea, a TV, and a safe. (No hangers) There was no noise and it was very comfortable. It's cheaper than central Amsterdam, so I recommend it!

There's a water refill station downstairs, and the location is super convenient to both the train station and the Flexibus stop. Bus 19 takes you directly to the museum, and then it's just a short walk. The room was spacious and quiet, and the staff were really friendly. My only minor complaint is that the cleaning could have been a bit more thorough; I found a clothing tag from a previous guest by the window, and the cups hadn't been washed.
