Mixed Experience – Good Service Recovery but Initial Handling Could Be Better I recently stayed at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre and had a mixed experience. For the first two nights, we suspected the room was not properly cleaned as both my husband and I experienced continuous sneezing throughout the stay. I reported this to the front desk after the first night, but no action was taken or escalated. Unfortunately, we had to endure a second uncomfortable night before I raised the issue again to the duty manager. I must commend the duty manager for her prompt and decisive action — she arranged an immediate room change, which made a significant difference. This level of service recovery was appreciated. However, it is unclear why the initial concern was not escalated earlier by the front desk, which could have prevented unnecessary discomfort. On a positive note, when I fell sick during the stay, the front desk staff were thoughtful enough to send porridge and warm water to my room — a kind gesture that I truly appreciated. The hotel’s location is very convenient, and the breakfast selection varies daily, which is a plus. A special mention to the egg station staff — they were consistently friendly and attentive, handling every request with a smile even during busy periods. Check-out was smooth and efficient. Overall, while there were some lapses in initial handling, the service recovery and certain staff members’ efforts stood out.

Our go-to hotel whenever we are going KSL area. Room is big and spacious. But same issue as all rooms I guess, living rooms and bedrooms are too dim. This particular unit we stayed in this time was much dimmer than our previous. And one of the toilet sink, water could not flow. We gotta use the powder room outside to wash up. Breakfast selection was a little less but not an issue. Overall, still ok.

I had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and very professional. The check-in process was smooth, and the famous warm DoubleTree cookie made the arrival even more pleasant. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with a beautiful view of the city. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the well-maintained facilities. The housekeeping team did a great job keeping everything spotless. The hotel location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby shopping malls, restaurants, and the CIQ checkpoint. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of options and the food quality was excellent. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru to anyone visiting Johor Bahru and look forward to staying here again in the future

Check in time was 3pm and we reached slightly earlier, so the receptionist told us to wait until 3. However at 3, she told us to wait another 10 mins cause the room was not ready, and she didn't even apologize for it. We ended up waiting for another 30 mins as the cleaners took so long. Room was okay but the water sound from the toilet was so loud the whole time and we didn't even have a good sleep. We also had to ask for slippers and toothbrush because they forgot about it. It's located near the marina so there was nothing to shop and see.

This was my second stay at this hotel. My first visit was a few years ago with my bestie, and this time I returned with my husband. The location is excellent, only about a 5-minute drive from CIQ, making it very convenient for a short getaway from Singapore.The Deluxe Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We were given room 2112 on a high floor which offered a nice and peaceful environment. The amenities were good and everything felt well maintained. Our room also came with breakfast. Since it was during the Ramadan period, the hotel provided sahur (predawn meal) instead. The food selection was generally okay and sufficient for sahur. However, the corn drink was not really to our taste. From the reactions of other guests after taking a sip, it seemed many felt the same way, including myself. There is also a massage parlour, Borneo Oasis, located conveniently on Level 1. This was my second time having a massage there and it was superb. Very relaxing and a great way to unwind after a day out. My husband enjoyed the stay very much and we both had a relaxing experience. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay and we would definitely consider coming back again on our next visit to Johor Bahru.

5-Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely impeccable stay! This place is super brand new, spotless, and unbelievably classy from the moment you walk in. Huge space with a big balcony overlooking the awesome sea view! It made us all smile waking up to it! The home is simple yet beautiful and immaculately clean down to every detail. The toilet? Super classy and hotel-level luxe. In fact, one of our kids said, It’s like a classy hotel in a homestay!” and they were 100% right! If you want space, style, and that five-star feel without the hotel price tag, BOOK THIS NOW! My family and I can’t wait to return and will definitely book this again, and check out all their 3- 4 bedrooms units! Definitely a gem! Don’t miss it!

First time staying at this hotel, and even though it was just for one night, I really enjoyed it. The room was a bit small but clean, the pillows were comfy, and the air-cond was adjustable. We had a small issue with the TV, but the front desk sorted it out super fast — kudos! All the staff, from the security guard to the front desk and even those we met in the lift, were friendly and made us feel very welcome. And the best part is that the breakfast was really delicious with lots of choices.

The location of the hotel is superb. Opposite JB City Square and 5mins away from CIQ. Convenience for those that want to stay near CIQ. Connected to 2 malls. Private car park. Do take note that the car park a bit narrow so be careful. Breakfast varieties considered average, free for kids under the ages of 12. The only they lacking of is their lifts. The lifts always got problem. This time round stuck inside at least 5mins. Not able to go up to our floor although floor level had been pressed. Hopefully they able to rectify the lifts so that everything going smooth.

A large 20-30 years old hotel building. Clean , very large guest room with city view on the high floor. Fast check in and friendly staff. Very good buffet breakfast. Good water pressure at the high floor bathroom. None smoking rooms are available, but sometimesl smell of the smoking still coming from room ventilation. Good room price. Will stay again if I come to Johor Baru.
