Sonesta Emeryville San Francisco Bay Bridge

I came here to meet my friend since we're in different hotels for the sales force event. My friend told me that Sonesta Hotel has a bar. First night was great until Gerrardo started talking to women from a different ethnicity how much he hates American women that we were garbage. I felt really angry. And when the 3 ladies across from me and my friend confront him he walked off... The other bartender Alice all I can say is amazing one of of kind person that's funny and can keep a crowd entertained. Second day same bartenders Alice and Gerardo. Let you tell you again was the same story but, instead of Garardo putting women down he started to talk down Chinese people while he was talking to a Japanese group telling them that Japan is number 1 that Chinese people are thieves that China steals Japanese people idea. I felt offended because I'm Chinese. And also that Gerardo smelled like so much alcohol that you could tell he's been drinking. I'm giving only a 5 star rating because of Alice I saw how she kept the bar going people enjoying themselves laughing so my friend and I joined the fun and joined the bar. She even apologized for her co-workers behavior and bought us a free drink. I told Alice dont apologized for someone elses behavior. ALICE You are amazing. This is the first time meeting a actual Tomgirl. Thank you for sharing your food with me. If Alice is the permanent bartender this would be amazing. She's knows how women feel and how they like to be treated.
Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge

This is the second time we stayed in this hotel. I might stay here again, but I wouldn't necessarily say I'd be happy about it. On the plus side, it's easy to get to from I-80/580 and Berkeley/Oakland are pretty accessible from here. It's clean and well-equipped. The beds are comfortable. On the minus side, the rooms are pretty small, and there's nothing included with the basic price. Outside parking is $25 extra in an area where theft from parked cars is pretty high. If you want breakfast before leaving, prepare to shell out $28 to sit down (presumably before taxes), or $20 for the buffet. I'm glad I don't live here because the prices and crime are out of sight.

Great location for visiting our relatives. Front desk staff was helpful, and we appreciated that they had extra towels and toilet paper behind the front desk so that we wouldn’t have to wait for someone to deliver this to our room. Beds in our 7th floor room was surprisingly firm. Most hotels have worn soft beds. Bathroom is well designed considering it’s a small space. Bright lights and white walls with a modern shower reminds me of a deluxe cruise ship bathroom. Mini microwave in the room is a nice plus because the Trader Jo’s is right across the street. Free parking is a definite plus. And lobby area feels like a mini living room. At night, you need your hotel key to walk through the front entrance sliding doors as well as tap key to access elevator — great double security feature which I appreciated! And housekeeping staff were genuinely helpful and friendly.

Have stayed at this hotel many times over the years when I come to the bay. Pros: - Nice breakfast - Kept clean - Spacious - Shower is really nice - Modern looking room Cons: - Clientele has gone downhill over the years - Elevators are slow or out of service - Increased risk of your car getting broken into at this location
