It's been 15 years since my last trip to Tenerife and the comments below are based on international five star hotel experiences around the globe. So here's what I experienced on this reservation:- Positives 1.Check in / out process fast and professional. 2.Direct beach access via the pool area. 3.Breakfast buffet with internal and external seating choices was excellent. 4.Evening entertainment between 21:00 and 23:00 Hrs was good. Negatives 1. Allocated R3101 upon arrival and entered to find the bath tub was extremely dirty and required solvent cleaning to remove large accumulation of water scale dirt around plug area (Approx 200mm in dia). Root cause of this problem is a leakage from the shower hose connection which remains to be fixed. 2. TV was on and could not be turned off. This was rectified by Maintenace changing the batteries within the remote control. 3. Sink plunger mechanism was broken and I was shown how to remove the plug on a daily basis once housekeeping cleaned the room. 4. Locking mechanism on the balcony sliding door is broken and extremely hard to open / closed. 5. Only one, yes one pool towel provided / guest at the pool via a plastic card that you are required to exchange at the pool towel bar. If you forget this card it's a return trip to the room. General Travel Tips. 1. Taxi from TFS Airport to hotel cost 25 Euro each way. 2. Hard Rock Cafe located next door (£££). 3. Great Italian, Thai, Japanese and British restaurants located on the second floor off the shopping complex across the road from the hotel (££££)

Hotel Las Madrigueras Golf Resort & Spa - Adults Only

Playa de las Americas|1.88km from Piramide de Arona
arrival 11th October, the hotel sits on higher ground skirting the golf course it owns. The reception is beautiful and the doorman helpful. Room 6 a duplex suite is in my opinion the worst room of the complex, having no brochure views of the pool or golf course from which we decided upon this Suite. I pointed this out to the reception and asked for a different room. Only 4 in the hotel so no move. Downgrade us to give us a view was met with a denial hotel full, even though other guests were being moved throughout the week, Jet2 was no help here as the complaint was addressed 3 days into holiday. My view on the hotel. is mixed, a beautiful building filled with wonderful guests but the management in particular have an air of arrogance. The restaurant matradee one good one bad, no names mentioned, we did comment on this, the waiting staff were excellent and at the end of the week we will miss them. Other guests suggested we check our bill and indeed it was wrong, but put right upon clarification. The tvs for us in english kept dropping out and the bedroom tv did not give us english for the first 2 days until it was fixed. The air con is adequate and a haven to cool off in this exceptional week of hot weather for the time of year. but it does not attain the set temp rate. and 21 degs was best we could get during the night time. and given the size of the rooms it never will. it looks to be a central controlled system. The golf course was a pleasure to play, variation and elevation nicely set around some water features, you a paired with other golfers from the hotel with fill in from external bookings, it is also reasonably priced given the buggy is free to use during your stay at the hotel, Pool and bar for us was used to dip and cool off and never looked overcrowded. The terrace dining experience was fantastic watching the sunsets as we ate over an hour for the 3 course fare of offer. enough variation for a week. but Felt some of the specials were not to the stannard of the set al a carte menu. In all, a fine hotel with a relaxing atmosphere but away from the centre of anything. shortcomings spoilt this experience which doesn't come cheap.

Hotel Cleopatra Palace

Reception: Our checkin agent, Cesar, was extremely helpful. He even remembered us at check out and made a joke to us. Room / facilities: Room number 8327 is on the 3 floor and is fairly clean. There is a self control air conditioning with a balcony door that opens which overlooks the pool. The room has 2 single beds joined to make a king bed , unsupportive pillows, small flat screen TV, table with 2 chairs, a hanging area with a valuables safe inside, (the safe door swings open when not used, due to it being installed at an unlevel angle), the bathroom has a tub with shower, bidet and toilet (that constantly drips). After advising reception, a repair man visited, and strangely, INSTANTLY knew what the problem was as he entered the room. However after departing the room they failed to fix the constant drip. The toilet continued to drip during our stay. This constant drip is very annoying once you are aware if it. There is a small bar fridge, (but no tea or coffee facilities). Furniture is very dated and has suffered a lot of wear and tear over time. Parking: is available for free with 2 parking areas that accommodate approx 25 cars, for the 500+ rooms in the hotel. It seems that all open air parking (excluding parking garages) on the island are free of charge. Wifi: Complementary. On our first night the wifi was super mega slow and atrocious to use, and failed multiple times to open any website, even though its advertised as premium Wifi. The Wifi connection dropped out regularly, required multiple password re-input and was just super, super, super slow, even when trying on multiple devices. After 2 calls to reception the night of our arrival, there was nothing they could do until the technician could attend to the problem at 10.30am the following day. I had to resort to my 4G data to gain any connection. The wifi was functioning the next day. Breakfast: Included and available for all guests. The buffet style consisted of fruits, cereals, hot eggs (precooked or freshly cooked), sausages, bacon, crumbed chicken pieces, baked beans, cold meats, juices, pastries, breads, tea and coffee. Be aware of the human vultures that swarm the food, as if there was no possibility of refill. Conclusion: Great looking hotel from the outside and foyer areas, but walk into the room, you immediately step back 20 years into a tired dated room. Letdowns: Initially the wifi not functioning and dropping out, the constantly dripping toilet, poor/lack of in room amenities, tired furniture. As the foyer bar was closed, i rang reception and requested for and ice bucket to be delivered to the room, which would have incurred a €3 charge this to me is unacceptable. Previously, at the foyer bar, i asked for 2 glasses of ice, but could only receive one as the barman said “the ice machine is broken”. Or was it due to the hotel ice delivery was insufficient to cater for the number of guests in the hotel? Location / Nearby: Arona town main street and all its

Spring Hotel Vulcano

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights on a half Board basis. On arrival check-in we were offered a complimentary glass of bubbly and as we arrived after the restaurant had closed they had layed on a light supper for us which was a nice thought. The hotel is located in the next street over from the Hardrock Café and fountains so is easy flat walking distance to the main resort area but has the advantage of being quiet in the evenings. The meals (breakfast and Dinner) are buffet all you can eat style with plenty of options. We usually found something tasty, but if you are a fussy eater or less adventureless your choices my be limited. If we went again I'd prefer B&B and go out for evening meals, just for some variety and because there are some good eateries in the resort. We had a Triple Standard room with a double bed and a sofa bed. It was clean, air conditioned and very comfortable with a small balcony. Although there were three adults in the room we only had two chairs on the balcony, and two of everything else like cups and glasses, which was unfortunte. The pool are was exceptional. There is one heated pool and one not and also a bubbly pool with sqirty shower toys which was fun. Both pools were great and not too busy when we were there. There plenty of sun beds and pool towels that can be exchanged every day. There is a pool bar on site with basic food and drinks at a reasonable price. There is also an UP experience (roof pool, drinks and snaks) for an additional charge but we didn't partake. One great feature is being able to check-in your hold luggage in the foyer of the hotel on the morning of departure. Overall Jet2 and the hotel provided an excellent package holiday. The staff could not have been more friendly.
